Cheating the system

From the post it didn't appear they had the opportunity to report it in a way that was proactive. From the OP my impression was it was an observation and request for how common this was. Given that it wasn't directed at a named person or even anyone who could possibly be identified, I think it's harsh at a minimum to call it gossip. I think the amazing thing on this thread is the attacks on the OP and the defence of a dishonest person(s).

I agree, I don't understand why the OP is being beat up for simply asking how common it is for people to do what he/she observed. Most likely the people the OP observed were not supposed to be using the AKV pool. I have friends who live in Orlando and have heard how locals will spend a day at a WDW resort without being guests there. Some off site vacationers do this as well, and some WDW guests use pools at other resorts that they are not supposed to use. It is not something I look for or worry about, but there are definitely some dishonest people out there doing this type of thing.

Wow all I can add is I cant believe that the pools are such a big draw. I grew up around water my whole life and to me, they are just different shapes and different themes. There has been nothing at any of the resorts that has drawn me or my family to want to pool hop. The one closest to us, the resort we are at, has always been fine. And we have stayed at them for most of the day. Maybe Im just too lazy to want to travel for a pool.
For those who have to, or need to, well your problems are bigger than mine and I hope it helps that you can bend the rules for your own needs.
Yes my dues sometimes have to pay for these extras, but just like the weather, I will not let it ruin my vacation. Even in the rain, I see the sun because the parks are not as busy.
Just my two cents after reading all these replies that are 1st world problems.

I agree that it shouldn't impact our vacations. But lots of stuff impacts a vacation. It's pretty difficult to not notice all the nutty stuff going on. By being DVC we kind of insulate ourselves from a lot of the crazy, so I think when we notice a 'taker' jumping the fence into our playpen, it's hard not to resent it, especially when we make that yearly or monthly dues payment.

I resent that management always seems to take (reserve and orange cone) the best (closest) parking spaces for company vehicles and golf carts. And we pay them to do this?

I imagine not having the staff trudge out to the back of the lot every time they need to run an errand saves time and provides better service to the rest of us. Have you noticed a lot of spots being taken up? I honestly never noticed it before...
