Hi everyone!!!

I am going to book my 2007 holiday in the next week or so (what a fab feeling to know I'm def going back!!!)

I was tempted to do it on line (with virgin) but noticed I am getting £150 between 2 people on fuel charge!!!

Last Year we booked through thomas cook signature (TCS), we flew with virgin though it was booked through TCS. We didnt get charged extra for fuel and was wondering if there is a way to avoid this when booking with Virgin?

I was also wondering if anyone could help me with season times? I put a post on a few weeks ago about whether to go at christmas or Halloween, we have decided to go at the end of september (the very end, so bascially first 2 weeks in october) as its still hot and we get to enjoy the halloween celebrations. Any tips for this time of year? What is it like for crowds? weather, queues etc

Im not 100% but I think the fuel charge only increased late last year so if you had already booked thats why you didnt get charged, I think you will have to pay it regardless of who you book tho.

Weather at that time of year is great, as are the crowds, we always go between mid Sept and mid Oct. It's still very hot, we're in shorts and t-shirts everyday, but you might want a light cardigan for nights (especially if you're planning to stay out very late, e.g. for MNSSHP which doesn't end until midnight.) The water parks have been open for us every time and it's still plenty warm enough to be out in just a bikini/shorts - I was still boiling in mine last Oct. You are running the risk of hurricanes but they don't generally disrupt Orlando too much unless they come right over (which is rare.) More common are the mid afternoon storms which can happen most days, they not too much of a hassel though, just hit some indoor attractions whilst they happen - they can actually be a blessing as they stop the air being so muggy.

Crowds are generally light but beware EPCOT during the food and wine festival and MK on MNSSHP nights. Otherwise the queues didn't really get past the 20min mark, even on the big rides. One exception last year was Soarin' because it was new (queue was 60-90 mins whenever we looked.) That one should have calmed down by now as it's been there sometime but I can see a similar problem with Everest this year - fastpasses are probably going to be needed for that!!

we have just booked with thomas cook sig flying virgin for next october we had to pay the fuel charge (as said in previous post)you pay this now whoever you fly with
we went in october in 2004 and went to mnsshp and we had a blast it was a great evening as for the weather is was lovely i remember being in epcot (16th october, partners birthday)and it was the hottest day at about 90 degrees we have been in october and november and the weather was georgous
