cheapest way to rent a timeshare

my familly and are are going down the first week in oct and we are looking for a 2 bedroom timeshare but we still would like to get a bargain so any sugestions

You might find a match for your dates on ebay, you could look at the rentals on redweek.com, or go over to the classifieds at www.tug2.net. If you want a cheap stay and don't mind attending a timeshare presentation there are many offers for low-cost stays (usually 5 days/4 nights or 4 days/3 nights) available from various timeshare development companies.

because these are generally owners renting - they definitely want their maintence fees - and since the maintence fees were very high this year - there aren't alot of bargins out there.

I think that best deals are in the last minute rentals area on tugbbs.com and on ebay. You would start looking about 6 weeks before you want to travel, so around the middle of september.

This gives you plenty of time to start researching the properties you want go for when you see a deal.

We usually stay at Windsor Hills but I'm trying to do a cheap, short trip and Calypso Cay looks nice.

My understanding is that skyauction.com is about the cheapest way to go.

I've never used it, but the reviews on this forum generally state that you can get an older unit (but clean) that is somewhat further from the parks than other units, for as little as a dollar plus fees/taxes that will end up costing a fraction of what other places are charging.

Loveysbydesign: We have stayed at the country Inn and the Amerisuites (now Calypso Cay Suites) at Calypso Cay for 5 years. We really like the area and the pools. Very convenient to get to parks and shopping from. would love to stay in one of the Villas.
