hey all

im getting ready to book a cruise and we wanted to do both land and sea but i wasnt sure if i should do the land and sea package or would it be cheaper to get a discount code and book my own hotel and just do a 4 day cruise

i plan to go sometime in october

any suggestions would be great thanks

It is much cheaper to do it seperatly! I would go with Dreams to get your four day and book the three days either on your own or through priceline!

Also...check out www.mousesavers.com

they often have codes that anyone can use for booking rooms at WDW. Many people have saved a ton of money using these codes. Plus there are discounts on rental cars as well. It is a great site.

It should be cheaper to do it separately, as the Land/Sea-Packages can't be combined with the Value Resorts (All Stars). The Cruiseline buses don't even stop at the AllStarResorts!! But a TownCar is not more expensive than the buses - Or you have to get a taxi to go to another Disney Resort and board the buses there.

It is DEFINATELY cheaper to do it separatly. We booked the 4 night Wonder Cruise (2Secret porthole rooms) and a room at the Carribean resort for Dec. 2004. It was $3000.00 cheaper to book everthing separatly. If you book pretty far in advance you also get early booking savings.

We have booked both ways. It is more expensive to book Land/Sea as a package, however, it is all done for you and you don't have to get much involved, just deciding were you would like to stay. If you have the time, which Oct. is quite a ways away, book your own . Call early and book the cruise thru Dreams Unlimited, you'll get a great rate, and then check websites for hotel bargains. Staying on Disney properties can be pricey, but you can find some nice properties close to the gates for 1/2 the price. We have been staying in Lake Buena Vista, at a newer Marriott Residence Inn, 1 bedroom Suite with full kitchen, Carribean decor, beautiful pool and grounds only 5 mins. from Downtown Disney. Includes shuttles to parks and full hot breakfast for around $69.00 US/night. We usually splurge on the ship and try to cut back on the land portion. You can save pretty big $$$, and still have a great vacation.
Good Luck!! ;)
