I've always booked a package direct with VH but I'm gradually losing faith and seeing other companies getting better, so......

DH has agreed we can go to WDW again next year :cool1: and I was wondering the best/cheapest way to go about this, I know free dining is being offered at the moment so want to get that, we also want to stay at the boardwalk (he's agreed to that too :yay:) We are a family of 4 with a 10 and 12 year old wanting to stay for 2 weeks in mid August with park tickets. So I just wanted to pick your brains really as I know you're all wonderful at getting good deals.

Many thanks :goodvibes

To get the free dining plan and that time of year I think it is best to fly with VH - if you are a frequent flyer member you get 10% with Virgin holidays.

We calculated this August out with VH and doing it separately and it was cheaper to go with VH.

good luck with your planning

We went with VH in apr/may and stayed off site in a nice complex (Sheraton Vistana villages) but I shudder when I think it cost us around £4000 for two adults and two children in a two bed unit.

We have just booked VA flights for the four of us 3-17 oct for around 1100.00 and am renting a Windsor palms 3 bed house with pool for less than 600.00 for two weeks!

If you're staying on site maybe VH are cheaper but as we prefer off site - independently is the way to go for us!

Tavel City direct as well as Virgin holidays are doing the free DDP, for late August 2008, I have booked through DREAMS UNLIMITED before for WDW, but the fee DDP wasnt available through them.

Anyway I am off to Disneyland LA next year instead so I booked that through DREAMS, hope to get my flights soon.

Booking the accommodation & tickets direct through Disney to get the free dining and booking flights seperately through VA is saving us £700.

It must vary with dates, I have messed about with dates for next year and VA and Disney direct always come out more expensive that with VH! TCD have also come out more expensive that VH on some dates.

Thanks everyone, I've been pricing up and wow do they vary  I think, please tell me if there's a better way, that the best deal is to buy flights with VA direct using some miles which comes to about £2500 total (Poppyanna you got a great deal!!!) then going direct with WDWUK where POR is coming to £1700 inc DDP and tickets, I really wanted BC or somewhere on the Boardwalk but that's about £3400 and I really don't know if it's really worth double POR especially as it's only a standard room!!!!

This year our 2 weeks at CSR with VH came to £4,500 (over £5000 this year) so if we did POR as above it's about £300 cheaper!

DisneyJo, if you heart's set on the Boardwalk (and who can blame you, it's a wonderful place :) ) have you considered renting DVC points? You should be able to make some serious savings off that £3400.....
