My sister will be arriving at MCO when my family is busy. What would be the best way, for the least amount of money, for her to get to the WL? She took Mears once and did not like the experience at all.:( Is there a car service that is cheaper for just a single rider?

Thanks for your help...:D

rent a car for one day one way

I did last week for 50 dollors

....return at courtyard at DD

U can walk to DD afterward

and U can buy water and food on the way there

I rented a car too....I went in August and got an economy car from Dollar for about $30. There were two of us, an adult and a child, and after we checked in to our resort (POR), we drove to the DD Courtyard by Marriott and dropped off the car, then took the boat back to POR. It also gave us the flexibility for a grocery stop and a jaunt to the outlet mall before settling in for our week at Disney.

well...the rate is 30 but tax and airport fee add up to
40 somthing plus 10 insurance...

total is 50

If she doesn't have much luggage she can take the public bus for under two dollars. That will get her to the TTC where she can board a bus for the WL. I have not tried this yet, but may try it in June so long as we can all pack in a separate backpack and carry all of our belongings!

My husband did this a year ago December as me & kids were there for 1/2 week with my sister then she left and he arrived to finish out the week with us. Since I had brought all his "main" luggage with us, all he had was a backpack and he took the public bus, very cheap and he actually made it pretty fast compared to Mears. We had done Tiffany coming in and he rode with us of course via Tiffany when he left. I think my sister opted to Tiffany 1-way for her trip back to MCO or she may have done Mears in the shuttle van. Worked out perfect for all of us as we took advantage of the grocery stop on our way in.

Do the buses run like all the time? And from the airport to where- all WDW resorts or just some specific point somewhere and you find your way from there to WDW resorts?

I'm really curious- especially about the time thing because my flight comes in really late on Sunday night (11:12pm arrival time to MCO)- would a bus be running that late?

And the reason I asked about the drop off area is because while I can handle my luggage short distances- I'm not sure I'd want to walk a really long way with it!

The bus drops you off at the Disney Transportation Center. From there you can board busses (Disney transportation) to your hotel or the parks. It was very easy. We had never used the Orlando bus system before, or disney transportation, and found both to be easy to use. You can't beat the price.

Can anyone tell me what line (route) to take? I can't find one that goes from MCO to the TTC.

Thanks,
Alice

When DH and I did our adults only trip in August we took the bus from MCO to TTC after staying at our LaQuinta priceline hotel on our late Saturday arrival. On Sundays, the Lynx buses run on a reduced schedule. From the airport you take either an 11 or 51, which goes to downtown Orlando. When you board ($1.10 in exact change) ask for a transfer. In downtown Orlando transfer to a 50 route. The buses were clean, efficient transportation. Allow about 1 1/2 hours to TTC. Once there you have to go to a Park to get a bus to your hotel. We ended up taking the monorail to MK and then waiting at the bus kiosks for ours to OKW.

It's definitely cheap transportation, if you have the time.

OH The TTC will have a bus to WL. You won't have to do the monorail piece, unless you want to take the boat from MK to WL. My family used to divide up and see how many different routes we could take from one place to another in WDW. Doesn't take much to amuse us I guess!
