from Hard Rock Hotel to Magic Kingdom for MNSSHP in October. We want to leave Universal (HRH) around 3:15pm to have plenty of time to get to MK by 4pm when we will be allowed in MK. So far the cheapest I have found is a car service that will charge us $70 round trip. :scared1: Is this the best I am going to get?

When I googled this it what I found.

Getting from the Walt Disney World area to Universal is tricky, but possible. Take Lynx Route 50 from Disney’s Ticket & Transportation Center to SeaWorld and switch to the I-Ride Trolley. For more information, call (407) 841-5969 or visit www.golynx.com on the Internet. On the web site you will be able to download maps of the routes that interest you.

BTW I would think about allowing 1 hour to 1 hour 1/2 to get there. Traffic and be heavy and remember any transporation you take, will drop you off at the TTC and not at the front enterance of MK.

I dont know what the TTC is, but the company we are using for our pick up and return to Amtrak said they could drop us off at the Magic Kingdom. I did call some cabs that said we would have to pay the gate fee. I asked the company we are already using and he said nope...just the $70 plus tip is all we have to pay.

Thanks for that. But we aren't going to the parks per say. We are going for MNSSHP. We don't need theme park tickets to get in...just our MNSSHP tickets.

They can not drop you off at the Magic Kingdom, only Disney buses can. They are misleading you.
They will have to drop you off at the TTC (Transportation and Ticket Center). This is the hub that services the MK parking lot.
You will have to line up and board either the Monorail or the Ferry to be transported to the MK entrance.
I would allow at least an hour, if not more, from the HRH for the trip.

your 2 feet are free,:rotfl2:
Seriously??? Not so helpful.

In any case, there is no cheap way to get between US/IoA and WDW. You may be able to book the Mears shuttle. I've taken it from WDW to US/IoA and back to WDW. Check out this link...

It does show 24 hr service between the two areas, for $19 r/t pp. You would have to call them and see what the deal is with pick up times and such. And depending on how many are in your party, it might just make sense to book a car service. But, as others have said, it isn't going to be cheap.

Ditto. There are no taxis or car services allowed to the MK entrance. Same with the Mears shuttle. ONLY Disney buses can go to the front of MK. You will need to allow time to be dropped off at TTC & then get over to MK by ferry or monorail. I've taken taxis to MK from the Universal area - from I Drive specifically it was $55 one way - and the taxis drop off in the parking lot at TTC - so you have a short walk over to the ferry or monorail from that point as well. OR you could take a taxi to CR, then walk over to MK.

$70 RT for a family sounds like the most reasonable you can get (unless there are less than 4 of you, then Mears shuttle - if they have a route HRCH to MK).

why not rent a car for the day??? remember to add in the parking fee. Sounds like the easiest solution and probably the cheapest. The drive is less than 30 minutes each way. We are leaving this week with 2 days at US and 5 days at WDW. We have a full size rental for $145 for the week/total.

That could possibly be two parking fees...one at HRH and one at the TTC..so about $30 just to park. Unless they can get the rental car without using HRH parking area for that time. Then it would just be one parking charge at TTC.

yes that is true.

You could have a car service or taxi drop you off at the Contemporary. The OP is going to MNSSHP. Unless there is an after hours drop off available, and the OP is willing to utilize it, they'll have to pay to park at HRH for one night.

Forget about public transportation. It's close to a mile from the HRH to the nearest I-Trolly stop. Public transportation won't be running for your return.

My guess is a car rental, including gas and parking, will cost almost as much as your $70 quote for a car service. The car rental will let you shop offsite and grab a meal offsite.

Whenever I see a thread asking for the cheapest transportation I'm always tempted to suggest walking or asking people who see if you can grab a ride. The public transportation suggestion, although well intended, is about as helpful. It starts with a mile walk and could include an almost 30 minute wait if you just miss a bus. Going back to the HRH you'll have to wait until around 6:30 a to catch the first lynx bus from the TTC.

Thanks for everyone's suggestion. I don't mind paying the $70...I just wanted to make sure I was getting the best deal. I did some research but I know that the homies on the DIS do very well finding good deals. I did look into renting a car for the day. HRH does have a Hertz desk, and we can pick up and drop off there. However with gas, and parking fees it was no cheaper. We booked the same car service that we have from Amtrak to HRH, but made sure to tell him that we may cancel if the weather is bad. I will buy MNSSHP tickets the day before the event. I don't want to spend $300 for tickets and car service if we have bad weather! Again...I appreciate everyone's help. (I even laughed at my feet were free) I didn't realize just how far the drive is from HRH to Magic Kingdom. My brother and his wife are going to be at Pop Century so we may just get dropped there and ride the bus over to MK instead of being dropped off at the TTC. Is this allowed? I wasn't sure if that was ok to do, or if that isn't allowed.

Yes, that is allowed. They will just have to tell the CM in the security shack at the entrance to Pop that you are visiting your brother..they may want his room number.

Ok thanks for the info. This is their first trip to Disney with my nieces. I am so excited that we get to share MNSSHP with them!!!
