We would only need a normal room as we're a family of three. Theme rooms aren't a big deal as our youngest is 15. We wouldn't want anything too big either. Bus service is pretty important as well.

We stayed at Caribbean Beach in a pirate room. Love the resort, but it's the only one without queen sized beds and its very large so the buses make a lot of stops.

POFQ has the best bus service, I think. Nice pool for kids. Small resort to get around as well. Not necessarily the cheapest, though...

I've not stayed at Coronado, but having stayed at CBR, POFQ, and POR, my favorite is POR.

We stayed in a garden view room in one of the Magnolia Bend mansions (not a Royal Room, not preferred). I thought the interior design of the room and the outdoor design/theming/landscaping were beautiful. Even though we did not stay in a preferred room, neither myself or my mother (mid-sixties) found the distance from our room to the food court/lobby to be far.

Never had any issues with transportation - there are multiple bus stops, so you will never need to walk far from your room for a bus. I also really like the option to take the boat to DTD (offered also from POFQ), which is a nice, relaxing break from the buses.

Lastly, I found the food court at POR to be much better (more options, better quality) than those at POFQ or CBR.

Our family of four only stays at mod. Resorts! Value are a bit too small for us and the others are too expensive!
Love them all... Our favorites are POR and CBR - if you look at a resort map and request a certain area or building near the food court and main pool - I have never had them not honor it!!! That way we are close to everything!!! Last year we stayed at CBR and my kids want to go back! They love pirates but those rooms are way too far away!!!

I love POFQ. We were as far away as it is possible to be from the lobby, and it still only took four minutes to walk to the food court. (We were at the far end, around the back, facing the parking lot.) Plus you could cut through the parking lot to get to the busses faster :)

As you can see from my signature, we love Port Orleans Riverside (POR). It always seemed to be the most reasonably priced of the moderates for our family size. But, we've always been a group of 4 or more. The grounds are lovely, no "little-kid" theming (just beautiful landscaping), and the walk to the buses and amenities from the rooms are much shorter than Coronado Springs. Although Coronado was breathtaking, after staying there once, we decided it wasn't worth the price difference for us. And like PP mentioned, the food court at POR is very good.

CSR has wonderful bus service! It also doesn't share with another resort.
My daughter and her friends loved CSR when they were teenagers. There are not usually as many little ones running around the resort.

The least expensive rooms are the Standard room at all four Moderates. They all have the same pricing. I think CSR might be $5 more a night than the others at times. I've stayed at CBR, CSR, and POR.

I think CSR is the best resort since it almost feels like a deluxe and we usually have had good bus service there (our last trip we seemed to hit it wrong and drove our car to the parks more).

My next trip is at POR.

Hello there! our family favourite is POR. We have stayed at POFQ, POR, and CSR and factoring in everything about the resorts, POR is the one that is loved most by our little family!

Good luck and have fun :goodvibes

In October (10/10 to 10/21) we found POFQ to be the most expensive and CS to be the cheapest moderate standard view rooms.

We still decided to stay at POFQ for the
slight increase but we REALLY like it there.

We stayed for the first time last year at Coronado. We were pleasantly surprised with this hotel. It really felt more like a deluxe hotel. We are a family who normally only stays at the Deluxe resorts but last year needed to cut costs. We were worried that we would not like it but we loved it!

I could have written both of those responses. Any themed room (pirates, royal), garden view , preferred location etc. will be more expensive. French quarter usually has smaller or no discount when the others have promotions. CBR is the least bang for your buck since it's really due for a renovation and still only has full sized beds instead of queens. c S R is slightly more expensive but you also get a health club and sauna for free, and spa services for a fee... Also nicer beds, with duvet covers.

For a moderate POFQ is our favorite, as noted may not be the cheapest, but but for us we think it's worth the extra $s. :)

Not the cheapest but definitely the best in my opinion.

It's just a perfect resort all around, bus service is great, ferry to DTD, not enormous like some other mods.

The only bad thing I have to say about POFQ is the lack of a sit-down restaurant. But with PORS being less than a 10 minute walk away I don't fret too much about it.
