I'm thinking about using my Target credit card for 5% off. Any other ideas?

I don't think you'll find the Kindle Fire on sale. It's a new product, and selling very well.

You can check out the audible.com promotion on Amazon.com. Sign up for one year of audible.com membership at 14.95/month and get a 100.00 amazon credit good toward the Fire. I got mine for 99.00

Your best bet is to find a place that is offering something extra with purchase.

A couple of days ago Toys R Us was offering a $15 gift card when you purchased a tablet $199.99 or cheaper ($25 gift card with a tablet $200 or more). Sometimes Best Buy and Walmart do the same type of deal.

Office Max sells them for $199.00 and I think Office Depot sells them too.

I have a 20/100 coupon for OfficeDepot. And OfficeMax will take Office Depot Coupons.

Also I was emailed a 20 (or maybe 30) off a $200 purchase at officemax...

I would just do a serch for coupons and buy it there.

Many of the coupons now exclude "e-readers" so you wouldn't necessarily be able to use them on a Kindle Fire.

The 5% off at Target does work. It might still be cheapest to get it directly from Amazon since you may not have sales tax depending upon your state.

I am not sure if it is one time use but I wont be using it.

So that would bring you down to $179.

Oh darn just double checked and they only sell them instore so you would have to find a printable coupon.

Oh but they are offereng $10 back in maxrewards for every $50 in giftcards you buy (limit 2).

So buy $100 in giftcards.

Then do a separate transaction to buy the kindle. Use a 20/100. End up spending $179 plus tax and then you will get back $20 in max rewards sometime near the end of next month. Making it $159

Here's how I did it at Target : used $15 giftcard coupon when you spend $150 in December Mailer + $10 off $50 printable Target coupon NLA and charged it to my RedCard(did include $1 item from dollar spot). So after gift cards I got it for $164. Target is running a sale starting tonight and running through Saturday -$10 gift card when you spend $75. Good luck - there are ways to get it cheaper.
