Hello All,

This depends on what time of year you want to fly, whether its school holidays or not.

Jules

A friend of mine who is out there at the moment has used Travel City to book his flights through.
He has a place out there and goes out three x a year. Has said he had to upgrade to include extras that you would come to expect on a Virgin Flight but still loads cheaper.
Also have a look at the Travel Supermarket web site. I have been told they search all airlines for the cheapest flights.

Thanx for that, i will do my digging around - yes it is in school holidays, my oldest DS (12yrs) is one of the strange ones he doesn't like to take time off school :confused3 :confused3 unlike what i used to be like, any excuse and i played on it :rotfl2:

Give Broadway Travel a look, I have always found them very good for prices, the down side is it's "charter" and the luggage allowance is minimal, the seating is not as generous as Virgin/B.A.. But as regards price "you get what you pay for"!

It's worth trying Expedia or Bon Voyage for scheduled flights - you can get some cheap ones if you are prepared to fly indirect.

A big thank you for taking the time to reply, we have decided to go over the christmas period which is a first for us :flower: i hear it's meant to be absolutely brilliant this time of year, I will be searching the net from now on getting all the details etc i need to get, it seems like a life time ago since we were last there (3 years is a long time), we only decided yesterday and i haven't been able to think of anything else :cloud9: :cloud9: :cloud9:

Thanks again,

We were there Dec 04 from the 2nd till the 16th. The weather in the first week was around the late 70's but the last week it was really cool and when we went to Sea World it was really cold even with 2 fleece tops on! It was lovely in the sun though.
Check out the pages relating to Mickey's Very Merry Chrismas Party. We went one night and it was lovely. Carols playing and snow on Main Street. We called Disney direct to book our tickets as I was worried about whether any would be available. You can buy them on the gate though but Fridays sell out first. You have to call them from 2pm our time and normally dates are confirmed May time.
We are going in October again so are hoping to go to Mickey's No So Scary Halloween Party so I am just keeping my eye on when the dates are anounced.
Have a look at the Dsiney site relating to the announcement of the dates

www.disneyworld.com/parkevents

Have a fab time

Thanks Clare, that is something we definately will be doing I will be watching closely to when the tickets go on sale :cheer2: we went to the Not so scary halloween party 3 years back, my eldest DS (then age 9) absolutely loved it and we all got in the mood and dressed up, even my DH which was great :cool1:

Have a great time and don't forget to dress up, it makes the night all the more special.

Hi Sharon

Thanks for the update. I will be getting my 2 yr old a buzz or Woody outfit as he is totally nuts for them (hence my picture!) I am thinking as going as a witch not sure about my hubby. What was the weather like when you were there?
Can you tell me what DH and DS stands for? I have seen it all over the site and I haven't a clue. Also I have seen LOLLS.
Thanks Clare x

Not sure what the first "D" stands for (possibly Darling?) but the H/W/S/D that follows it is for Husband, Wife, Son or Daughter.

"LOL" means Laughing Out Loud.

Hya Clare

Yes the D stands for darling, even though most of the time they certainly are not "darlings" !!! :rotfl2:

As for the weather at Halloween time, it was pretty pleasant if my memory serves me right, we certainly didn't have to wear coats etc and we came back with a tan (well more of a reddish colour for me being a natural redhead) we're going at chrimbo this year and have been told hats, scarfs and gloves are needed while watching the parade :cold: :cold: :cold: so it looks like it will be a first coming back from the sunny state as white as when i went, but who cares " I'M GOING TO FLORIDA"!!!!

Thanks Sharron and Steve Rob. At least I can use the abreviations and look like a pro now.
When you go Sharron make sure that you visit MGM'S Osbourne Family lights. The lights normally come on after 6pm so most people make their way over to them (they are by the Back Lot area) after Fantasmic. Again they have snow falling but the street is decked with millions of fairy lights - absolutely beautiful. Also you can buy loads of Christamas goodies. The best shop was the cHRISTMAS sHOP AT dOWNTOWN dISNEY rather than the one in MK as they tended to sell out of things quite quickly.
Gremany in Epcot sell some lovely traditional decorations too.

Thanks again Clare, i'm really excited about this trip more than the other 5 i've been on, i think its because its chrimbo and i'm a big kid at heart, DH always keeps me going at chrimbo saying i enjoy it better than the kids, as i get up usually at 5am chrimbo morning just to see what santa has left under the tree for me :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: i will have to start my trip planner soon to make sure i get everything in, i just want to make it so special for my 2 DS, the only decision we have to make in the next 24 hours is do we stay at a disney hotel or do we go for a villa offsite :confused3 do you know any good places to eat on christmas day if we do decide to stay at a disney hotel ?

Hi Sharon

We are staying at the AKL and I have read good reports about Jiko - the cooking place. Also at the Grand Floridian Victoria and Albert's is highly rated and I have read that you an book a PS 90 days in advance for Jiko and 180 days for V&A. The tel no is 00 1 407 939-3463.
Even if you do stay off site you can go to these places for your dinner or some of the other big hotels will probably do a good lunch. The Gaylord Palms hotel (lols) looks lovely and it is draped in twinkling fairy lights to make it look like icicles. It is at the top of I Drive just off the I4.
If I come across anything else I'll let you know.

Hi Sharon - me again

Just to let you know I was on the US pages the other day and they were saying how busy Christams Day is in the parks - especially MK.
It may be worth considering a Disney hotel so that you can benefit from the Magic Hour or at least you are near enough to go early, come away and then go back later.
Saw your other thread. I would pack gloves and a good fleece just in case. Make sure that you have your ponchos as it can also rain.
Check out the weather site I have attached below as you can do an historic check on the weather in previous years.
