Thanks! I just ordered the American Girl magazine for my DD and paid only $10.95! (used the DCMPS5 code)

What made you try that code for that subscription? Just curious. There were a few other mags I was really intersted in, but weren't listed here. :confused3

I was looking at the Cosmo Girl magazine first, so I just figured I would try that code first. Nothing but luck that it worked!

I'm new here (well, been lurking a few months and just decided to register) and I wanted to alert you all to a possible problem - I ordered Country Weekly from this place back in September and was supposed to receive it in December but haven't yet. I have contacted them though, so hopefully they can get it sorted out.

Check out ebay for subscriptions. A few months ago, I got my daughter a subscription for Disney Adventures 3 years for only $3. My husband got Popular Science, $7 for 3 years and Field and Stream for $4 for 3 years. We have been getting the magazines in the mail, no problems at all. Just watch the ones you bid on to make sure they aren't charging for shipping and handling.

I just ordered Family Fun magazine this evening too, it was $2.90 for 2 years.

Me too, except it was Disney Adventures. Still haven't received it! Filed a problem report with them and they now say my paypal account was not charged. This is not true. I have the receipt for paypal.

DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!

I also ordered Disney Adventures back in September and STILL haven't received it. I put in a complaint on December 30 and they said they would get back to me in 5-7 days. Still no answer.

Great Prices! Is it an ebay store you order these from or just a seller? How do you find a reliable one selling on ebay?

sometimes those places take a little while to process. I bought my DFi AP magazine for his birthday 2 years ago and it took 6 months for his first copy to show up! We both thought we got ripped off and forgot all about it until it showed up at our doorstep

I haven't used the ebay store to purchase magazines, just auction listings with buy-it-now prices. I've been lucky with ebay, never any problems with my subscriptions. I usually check out the ratings of the seller before I buy. I think the longest I've had to wait for the subscription to start was 2 1/2 months.

I also did Disney Adventures in September, was supposed to start Dec. 5. I emailed them before Christmas, & got the response of getting back to me in 5-7 days.

In my case they did get back to me saying the subscription would be starting & we got the first issue sometime around the 1st week of January. I guess I got lucky.

Thanks I will check it out! I am looking for a good deal on a few magazines!

I use relatica.com
I got 1 year of US Weekly for $10 and 1 year of Readers Digest for $5. So far so good. Us Weekly took about 3 weeks and Readers Digest about 1 month to start.

I also emailed them sometime during the last week of Dec re: my subscription which also was supposed to start on Dec 5. I recieved my first issue a couple of day later.:cheer2: Then almost another week later I recieved work from them that there was an overwhelming increase in subscriptions and that mine would start within the next month.

I just wanted to post a few suggestions to those that decide to go through an outside magazine agency, to keep on top of their supscription status and credit cards. I used to work in customer service directly for a popular magazine and you need to make sure you go with the right magazine agency. There are a ton of fradulent ones out there. Sometimes even the ligit ones can be very pushy and difficult to work with.

Alot of the calls we received at my call center were people calling to say that they were being harassesed by a magazine agency. They can be very very pushy when it comes to renewing subscriptions. Also there were alot of incidents of people signing up for subscriptions online or as a result of a cold call to them and they are charged on their credit card, but they never get the subscription bc it turned out to be an agency we did not have a contract with. And like another poster mentioned those subscriptions can take a while to start up. It may take 6 weeks, or it may take 6 months. Generally they send a bunch of orders to the mag co.'s all together and then the mag co's get backed up processing those orders.

I am not trying to completly deter anyone from using a mag agency, I just want to give some friendly words of advice from my "inside" experience I guess you could say. Here are some of my tips: Usually you can call the company of the magazine that you want to order, to make sure a particular agency is one they work with. Also make sure when you sign up that you are not under automatic renewal unless you choose to be. Another suggestion is to let them know you want to be on the agency's do not sell list. That way they legally cannot sell your info to other companies and you will not be bombarded with additional solicitations. My last piece of advice is to find out if the agency you order from allows you to cancel your subscription directly with the magazine company. Some big agencies have contracts with the mag. co's that the customers have to call the agency directly to cancel the subscription and they can make that process very hard.

I hope that my suggestions help :goodvibes

No more mag sub for us! Our county library has recently started patrons to check out magazines. You can take up to 5 at a time for 2 weeks. I like magazines but always felt very wasteful getting them and holding on to them or trying to find others who would be interested in. Perish the thought that I would throw them out. You have to wait a month, but there are so many to choose from. If your library doesnt do this yet it might be a good suggestion.
