I know about the dollar store and Target for glow bracelets and other novelties, but has anybody had success buying any of the nicer flashing-type necklaces or trinkets online, instead of paying top dollar at WDW for them? I'm looking at Oriental Trading and I'm considering ordering a few things.

Thanks for any feedback! :wave2:

I recently purchased some items from Rhode Island Novelty. Prices were better than Oriental Trading and they have a big supply of light ups/glows! :thumbsup2

If you are looking for Disney relates ones try Walgreens.... Most of the time they have light sticks and hand held spinner thingys that have mickey, princess or tinkerbell on them... Look in the seasonal section...

did you try target...in the birthday party area...they have flashing type necklaces, also those stick type ones you can put on backpacks etc, also pirate eye patches (if you are so inclined...we did group foto's outside POTC) they are all cheap, dollarish...we had a ball with all our purchases..........
have a great trip and so smart to save $$ this way...

I recently pick some up for our recent DL trip at Disney's Character Warehouse in Fullerton, CA. The company has changed the store name to Character Depot and its look too (I have been visiting this store for over 6 years - we typically stop here before going to the park <always trying to save a buck>).

The lightups were about 1/3 to 1/2 of the park prices. Kids loved them all the same. Some of the lightup toys even had a screw in the panel so you could change the batteries. This is very cool because a lot of the light ups are one time use. Once the battery is dead your out of luck.

No, I didn't look anywhere but the $1 section in the front of the store. Thanks, I'll check the party dept. :)

I'm glad this thread was posted, because I've been looking as well.

Checked 2 Targets, nothing but the basic $1 glowing neck and wrist bands. I'll try Party City next.

When I was ordering wedding favors, we ordered from gloworks.com.

They do bulk items of a lot of stuff you see in the parks, or very similar to, but I think mostly you have to buy 12 of them, probably for the same price you'd pay for a single in the park.

After the wedding they kept sending me the catalogs and every time DS5 acts like its Xmas again and tells me the 80 things he wants to order ... ;)

Check your local craft stores. Michaels and ac Moore have some good random stuff too...

glowsource.com

I use them all the time for our Disney trips - lots of glow items AND LED items. Love the LED because you can use them for more than just one evening. And so far, all the LED items I have gotten from glowsource have lasted years.
