Cheap Eats in Hilton Head?

BUT if you are going to visit Beaufort, Plums ( laid back and family friendly) is great. They are just finishing up a huge renovation and if you are looking for seafood, Dockside in Port Royal is where most people go. It's amazing being a seaside community we dont have more seafood places. If you visit downtown Beaufort don't forget to visit The Chocolate Tree- If you or anyone in your family is a chocolate lover you wont be sorry!

Yes, yes, yes and if you are going to Beaufort give Sgt. White's a try. Great barbeque and sides, low prices, very casual. But mind your manners...Sgt. White is a former drill sargeant with the Marines. LOL

One place I cna't recommend is the Market Street Cafe at Coligny Circle. Our meal was NOT very good, and the service was very lacking. Now, the Rita's Ice we had afterwards was yummy, as was the stuff at the Coligny Bakery. :thumbsup2

Sgt.Whit's has great "soul food" and BBQ, you can smell it cooking over night when you are driving down the road :)

The sea shack on hilton head is not run by the same people that had it for a while. I believe they opened the "sea shanty" and it is off island now between beaufort and bluffton. I've heard that the sea shanty is just as good as the sea shack.

We have four adults and four kids when traveling to HH and we love going to South Beach. The Salty Dog restaurant group has GREAT happy hour specials. We always eat at Lands End during happy hour, but The Wreck of the Salty Dog and the Salty Dog both have different specials. They are all owned by the Salty Dog. We also get pizzas from Jake's Pizza every year. It is not dine-in, but they have tables right outside and they offer delivery.

Thanks for the recommendations!
We'll be at Hilton Head July 17 to 24.
Look forward to trying some of these restaurants.

Anyone else going to be at Hilton Head then?

Another vote for the Sea Shack. Great food, good prices. We asked a local one day where they would go for lunch and that is where they suggested.

A friend from work recommended this restaurant, but failed to mention that they close between lunch and dinner. We missed them the one time we were able to visit.

The kids requested Fuddruckers, so we went there instead. This location had a broader food selection than others I've visited and the prices are reasonable.

We got a Restaurant.com cert for L'woods, and found the food very tasty and reasonably priced. We went at lunchtime and nobody was drinking, even though it IS a bar.

One place I would NOT recommend is "One Hot Mama's". Their ad in the restaurant guide did not match the prices, service was terrible, and the manager was pretty sleezy when we complained. Mediocre food and over priced.
