Cheap Disney brags

Using what I learned on this board, I've saved up over $2,000 in the past 4 months for our next Disney get-away. It took some work, some reading, and faith in what others had posted here, but it was worth it and more to follow through.

How was the Maingate Resort? Did they charge a resort fee? Do they have breakfast?

We thought it was great for the price we got it for.
It's extremely close to the parks
Like I said the rooms are renovated and clean.
The beds were really comfortable and they give you plenty of pillows.
There where Neutrogena bath products.
There's no breakfast, but I collected Starbucks gift cards from rewards sites and a few deals from groupon for starbucks cards so we had breakfast in the parks.
The pools and the grounds around the pools were nice also.
This place is older but they have tried to keep it up.

Thanks everyone!! We talked about it some more and decided to take the $2,000 from this year and save it, and wait until next Spring Break to go so we can enjoy ourselves more. I'll still use some of these tips though!!

That sounds smart. $2000 just didn't seem doable as tickets alone are $1500. (ridiculous, right?)
Out of interest, we went last year and were able to rent a 4 bedroom/4 bath house with a private pool for 2 weeks for just $1500. I have a lot of kids.

We were able to save quite a bit in food by having a kitchen in the house. We rented from www.vrbo.com
