Cheap decent eats around Anaheim/Garden Grove

We will be arriving on a Sunday afternoon and will be staying in Garden Grove for 4 nights, then returning to Anaheim at a later date, having a total of 11 nights in the area.
Some we will have a car and some not.
Anybody have recommendations for good, cheap (I know that can sometimes be hard ) places to eat in the area for a family with a 3 year old?

In Anaheim on Harbor Blvd past the Carousel Hotel there is a McDonalds. Here is a Map of the area.

Mimi's, Millie's, Denny's, are all on Harbor and good basic food. Avoid the IHOP, they overcharge massively and the Captn Kidds as it is just disgusting. There are also places farther down Harbor, there's a Sonic which is soooooo good down Harbor a few miles (next to the character warehouse actually, well across the street), you've got the Garden Walk which has CA Pizza Kitchen, Bubba Gump, PF Chang's, Cheesecake Factory and a few others, and down Harbor (opposite direction from the Sonic) is a Joe's Crab Shack, Outback Steakhouse, Red Robin and a pizza place. You've also got all the places to eat in DTD.

We found Outback Steakhouse in Garden Grove to be identical to the ones in Sydney. Not sure if they are in Melbourne yet. It was reliable, and sitting on the verandah to eat was nice - It was in the high 20's temp wise each night last October. We also ate at Red Robbin which was next door in Garden Grove. The Terriyaki Chicken Burger was very fresh, and DH and DD both really liked what they ate.

i thought that was so expensive. less than 3 miles away.

We love El Pollo Loco! Great chicken -- drive thru & have a fun picnic somewhere. It's healthy, they've got healty sides. You can fill-up & not feel like you've eaten a bunch of junk food -- for once on your trip! It's down a ways on Harbor -- worth the extra 3 minute drive. The family meals come with tortillas & several sides.

Not sure how adventurous the 3-yr old is on different types of cuisine, but I found this place online and am excited to try it on our next trip. Has a nice looking dining area and $6.95 full meal lunch specials M-F. Has pretty good reviews online too.

We frequently try food outside the parks and go to Yelp.com to check out what is good in the area.

Los Sanchez on Garden Grove Blvd west of Harbor Blvd is a pretty good counter service place - always busy. It used to be right there at Harbor and Chapman but was displaced by the renovation of that area.

Hof's Hut on Chapman next to the Crystal Cathedral has closed and will reopen as a counter service BBQ place in the next few weeks.

You might check out The Block at Orange, which is on State College and Chapman. It's an open air mall with numerous restaurant choices. There's a Krispy Kreme donut shop sharing the parking lot on the State College side.

In-N-Out Burger about 3 miles west of Harbor Blvd on Trask (visible from 22 freeway).

Coco's Restaurant & Bakery - not far from the Anaheim Convention Center, at the intersection of W Katella Avenue & S Disneyland Drive. Very reasonable prices; I found them when I got tired of the convention food at the D23 Expo last week - I ate there twice for lunch and once for dinner.

They have a great breakfast menu that you can also order from any time of the day (but there are a couple items only available during breakfast hours - I think waffles, oatmeal, and one other item that I can't remember).

My favorite lunch was the Deviled Egg Salad sandwich from their specials - it has bacon and tomato and the mayo isn't too strong. It comes with a cup of soup, fries, and a small Caesar salad, although they let me skip the soup and fries and just have more Caesar salad. With a soft drink and generous tip, the total was 10.69.

As you might suspect from their name, they also have a good variety of baked items - pies, pastries, muffins, etc.

I forgot about Cocos. There is one at Garden Grove in the Target Carpark (opposite Homewood / Residence Inn etc.) We ate there a couple of times for breakfast and will return.

I know there's a few restaurants on Restaurants.com that are around the area - and there are always discount codes for that as well. Never eaten at the places though.

Buca di Beppo is a fun place to take a large group. It's down Harbor a couple of miles (in Garden Grove). They serve family style large portion dishes, so you order a few and everyone shares. The atmosphere is really fun and usually the waiters are, too!

There is a fairly new Shakey's Pizza near the freeway, past HoJO's. It was a clean, open space with a arcade area for the kids and a lot of flat screens all around the restaurant. Plus, the pizza was great at a good price.
