Cheap Car Rentals in Houston, TX?

A cousin and I are discussing a possible three-day budget weekend in Houston to visit our other cousin and her husband. To make it easier on them, we'd like to rent a car so they won't need to pick us up at the airport or leave us one of their cars while they are at work. It has been years since I rented a car, and I have no idea what a good price is or what companies to price. Does anyone know the best priced company to work with, or any good coupon codes? (Before we rent anywhere, I do plan to check with our credit card company and make sure they offer rental car coverage/loss/damage, etc. I think I remember that is important!) Thanks for any and all advice!

From my experience, you just have to check often (even daily) for specials. I just rented two Tahoes in Denver for $260 per week. Some places were charging as much as $1200 for the same thing!! Seems like you just have to shop around.
Also, you could try one of the places like expedia or priceline to compare prices.
Have fun! I LOVE Houston! I live 90 minutes away and we go there all the time. Lots of fun things to do!

When I rent a car, I go to priceline and compare rentals for the week, I then go to retailmenot.com and look for couple codes to figure out the best deal, but budget always seems to have the best rates for me in Orlando.

Thanks! Anyone know if bidding on Priceline for rental cars is worthwhile, or are coupon codes just as good?

See if they have Advantage Rent a Car in Houston. It is usually much cheaper in that area.
