Wow, we don't have any drive ins anywhere around here at all. I didn't know they were still around. That would be neat.
I don't know why this is so hard for me every year. When they were little I came up with all kinds of theme parties and always had them at the house. Also, the timing of their birthday is bad- right at back to school. At least I only have to do it once a year!
Can you do your own outside movie? You would need a screen( a large white sheet works,a projector, and a sound system. There are places that rent them if you do not know some people you could borrow them from. The teens like being outside, you could set up tents and let them sleep outside after the movie. You could set out food like a concession stand and they can help themselves all evening. The movie does need to start a dusk, but they can do other things until it is time for that.
