What the heck...?

The kids are watching a Jaws movie, but it's not the original one. It has Bess Armstrong, Dennis Quaid, and another guy whose name escapes me.

I told DH earlier that I didn't think it was appropriate for the kids (knowing how the original one used to give me nightmares!) :scared1:

DH changed the channel, but when we got done cleaning up the dining room and kitchen, the kids had it back on Jaws. :sad2:

I wouldn't worry about it too bad, what used to scare us half to death makes the kids nowdays laugh. I told DD how scary the Exorcist was, I watched it when I was 15 and didn't sleep for weeks. She watched it and actually laughed at how corny it was!

She's one of my MILs. :rotfl:

So how does that work? Does you FIL have multiple wives??:lmao:

Just asked because she posted on the Komen board the other day. Sounds like she's doing pretty good. Oh yeah, and they went out for Chinese food for their anniversary.

Criminy Christmas, I watched that, too! I was fairly young (jr. high, so 12 - 13) and spending the night at the apartment of a neighbor's daughter. She was in her early 20s at the time, and invited my friend and me over to spend the night. My mom agreed to allow me to go, but didn't know until afterward that:

A. The movie the girl (and her boyfriend) took us to was the Exorcist;
B. Her boyfriend spent the night, too! (They were in the bedroom, we slept in sleeping bags on the living room floor.)

My mom FLIPPED OUT when she found out!

My DD has been watching scary movies every since she was little. Way scary movies and she loves them! She is always down renting scary movies to watch with a couple of her friends.

DS on the other hand avoids scary movies.

Sounds like a fun, memorable weekend!:lmao:

Well I think I'm going to head to bed early tonight. DH found and disposed of the hugical spider last night, so I'm sure I will sleep much better tonight.:thumbsup2

Ahhhh, good. I haven't been in touch with her lately (bad DIL!) and we just got a cute Pooh birthday card in the mail today from her for DS8.

I just told DH that his mom and stepdad went out for Chinese food for their anniversary, and he looked at me like I had two heads! :rotfl2:

"What?!"

"My friend Sam says they went out for Chinese food."

I had to explain about the Komen board, that you have actually been in touch, blah blah blah...

He laughed and said, "Wow. Small world!" :lmao:

That's small Cyberworld!:lmao: She doesn't post a lot, but I see her on there every once in a while. She mentioned their anniversary this year and said how much better it was, because last year she was diagnosed right around their anniversary. It's amazing what a difference a year can make.

I feel terrible for not being in touch with her more, especially given the cancer scare. She's always been very self reliant, not huggy kissy at all, and not mothery or grandmothery. But I think now she is realizing the importance of family and is trying. And we're not averse to that, just not used to it, you know? :)

Hey guys just checking in. I have been working on Morgan's birthday stuff all day. I'm so excited. All I have to do tomorrow is clean house, maybe return some stuff I overbought at LImited Too:rolleyes1, get her ipod set up (I want it to have music on it when she opens it), wrap presents and do the goodie bags for the party. I have all the stuff for them they are just all out on a table ready to be assembled. Looks like we have 23 coming. Who knows what the final count will be exactly til Saturday so i'm making a few extra just in case.

:faint: I made bracelets out of these gold bangled things (i cant describe I'll have to post a pic tomorrow but its kind of a belly dancing fringe but gold circles) and then I made these beautiful headpieces. Copied 27 CD's of the soundtrack to the new Cheetah girl movie and made custom CD covers for them. Very cute. I think everything is turning out great.

To top it off I was at the school for half the day then again for cirriculum night for 2 hours. We are eating lunch with the kids at school tomorrow and then Morgan and I have mani/pedi's and then we go to a dance company meeting after that. So no DIS for me til tonight.

I wanted to hop on and say HI

Awww...that sounds like a fun party and your party favors sound wonderful. Morgan has one cool mom! :woohoo: :dance3:

Hey guys! I just tucked her in bed. That girl cannot hurry through a bedtime routine to save her life. It took her an hour to eat. I said "It should not take you an hour to eat a plate of spaghetti unless you paid $100 for it!" :scared1: :rotfl2:

Hiya, pix. How was your day?

Hey Alex :) It was all right. Today was my cousin's last day at work. She's going back to school. We took her out to lunch at Elephant Bar. She had never been there before and we all had a bad experience. One of my co-workers ordered a sandwich which came with fries. She was almost finished eating the fries when she noticed something under her fries. She pulls it out and it's a piece of cardboard box :scared: Then my other co-worker was eating chicken and she stops chewing and makes a face. She spit out something that looked like a piece of twig  I ordered the chicken lettuce wraps and it was sooo salty and I couldn't eat it. My cousin ordered the same thing except her mouth was on fire and she said it was really spicy.

Really? It takes DS4 about 20 seconds:

1. Take a bite of lettuce, chew, then spit it back into the bowl.
2. Eat all the grapes.
3. Drink all the milk.
4. Sniff, then sneer at the steak.
5. Leave the table.
