Some day he will be a well known gourmet chef.
.... this is just his time to build a sophisticated palate.

:thumbsup2
Oh, I thought you were referring to the sneer. :lmao:

But man she did not appreciate the FUNK I brought to the room. :rotfl2:
Shawna, you remind me SO MUCH of one of my childhood friends! :lmao:

I'm afraid I'm more of the stick-in-the-mud type mom, and sometimes DS8 would much rather have a jazzier, spazzier mom. :rotfl:

But then there are times he appreciates my quieter side. Or so I tell myself. :lmao:

I registered DS4 for gymnastics. I was planning to just keep him in the 3 - 4.5 yo class, but one of his teachers from this summer was at the desk. "When does he turn 5?" she asked, and I said, "Well, he'll be 4.5 in October."

I wasn't quite thinking, he won't be 4.5 until the end of October, so I probably made it sound like it was closer than it actually is. Anyway, she thought he was ready for the older class (4.5 - 6yos)! I asked what the expectations were, and she said kids in the older class need to listen better. I must have made a face, and I said from the viewing stands I do hear his teachers calling his name because he's run off to do something else.

She laughed and said all the kids do that, but that he always comes back when they call his name. She said it would be a problem if he didn't come back, or if he was hitting another kid or some other disruption. "Besides," she said, "It might be really good for him. The older kids will look at him when he runs off like what are you doing?" :lmao:

I will share pics later.. too late to go look for camera and load them up.

I got a good one of the Dairy Princess being carved out of a hunk of butter.

Hundreds of jars of jelly with ribbons.. and other fun stuff that we "must do" while a the "Great MN Get Together".

:lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl: What about Bam B or Thumpa :rotfl2:

Oh I LOVE THUMpa And I'll do it like that with the emphasis on the pa like in paw! :lmao:

G, you had a good time at the fair?

I think we're going to go to our Western Washington state fair in a few weeks. We used to go every year when I was a kid, but haven't been since college, probably. We live about an hour away now, so it's a bit of a drive.

Now it will be the first time the kids go! :yay:

It's just to an older beginner class, so not like he's really advanced or anything. But I am amazed at how much both boys learned over the summer!

DS8 is doing these 'no hands' flips on the trampoline (like a jumping somersault.) As the kids get better it morphs into a flip with them landing on their feet, but he's note quite there yet. But GEESH, I never could do something like that at that age!

And DS4 can now do a butt-bounce-and-land-on-your-feet, which he's been working on all year. :lmao:

Hot and sweatyness .. but fun.

We watched a pig give birth, she needed help as the two we watched came out backwards.

They have a Miracle of Birth barn, lots of preggy animals in pens. Cows, horses, sheep, pigs, chicken and duck eggs.

They move seating to areas where an animal is birthing .. plus camera feed with many screens in the building-- everyone can watch.

They lifted the piglets up high so everyone could see .. the crowd went awwwwwwwww, and the kids went ewwwwwwwww as the piglet was still slimy. :lmao: The lil piglet let out some cute squeals in protest :goodvibes

Your boys are at a good age to enjoy a big state fair. Lots to see and do.

The only drawback?? ca ching ca ching ca ching $$$

It's our once a year treat, gotta do our part for the economy.

I was just checking prices today. It's only $8 for adult admission, $6.50 for DS8, and my sis says DS4 will be FREE. But you pay separately for rides, which naturally the kids will want to do. And something I read said rides cost at least "4 coupons each" and a ride coupon = $1. So even on lame rides, for the 4 of us it would cost $16! OUCH!

I think the boys would love to see the different animals, too. They loved the petting zoo at the Woodland Park Zoo, but DS4 was really freaked out at the idea of touching them, he just liked seeing OTHER people touch them. :lmao:

And the babies. He loved the babies! :lovestruc
