I am shooting for october....we still don't know

At least it won't be humid, or eyelash freezing cold .. yet!

Though we've had a few super snowstorms on Halloween-- that's always fun. Trick or treat slogging thru snow, ankle deep in just a few minutes.. by the next morning the entire Twin Cities was buried and everything was closed.

Other years it's been warm and the kids were sweating in costumes (with no coats on!!)

It would be nice to do a little shopping with DD....she keeps on and on about it to me....she's killing me...WTH...what happened to the days that a happy meal toy made them happy

I am trying to get DH to do a shift trade and go with tomorrow....because her hubby wants to go...and then.......... but if he can't then her hubby won't....

All of MN schools will be off during MEA weekend, October 16th-17th. It's the one big teacher conference of the year, brings all the rural teachers to the Twin Cities.. as in gee honey let's have a vacation while I'm here!

are you serious....is it just for the state or is it a nation wide confrence? beautiful...i am not sure but I think that is when our fall break falls....I will be lucky to get a seat....I hope not....

My boys just beg for games.. simple enough, we just give them money and say Save it up until you get what you want.

I know there are teachers that travel out of state from here for confrences...some just got back in july from ST.LOUIS for one...

I know...I make them save...and I help out...but she is really on me about this trip....

and she has an addiction to school supplies....she got in my bag and was yanking them out...I had to stop her...uhhh...those are MINE

Makes for a tiny bit busier time in terms of tourism. Really the mall has been DEAD lately, the economy has sucked the life out of tourism dollars here.


That Friday might be busy at Mall of America, parents might take day off instead of lining up babysitters. Have an extended weekend.. but it depends on weather-- if it's nice out.. then they will go take the kidlets to the zoo or something outside before they get cooped up for the year.

It's a fun place to be, but to me it's just another mall -- with a few "extras".

But around here.. there are a bunch of malls. Each with it's own style/vibe, we go to certain ones depending on our current mood. Or how far we want to drive/put up with construction.

I will be very happy when the 35W bridge is done, no bridge really screws with our driving patterns when we want to go to Minneapolis.

My sis has gotten lost in downtown several times in the last year - she has to take her kidlets to therapy and testing at Children's or at the University-- simple drive.. when the bridge was there!

I just had a little sales guy come to the door...told him no...2 or 3 times...then said..my neighbor would love the stuff....I called neighbor and said answer the door I have something for you...she is outside with him I looked out the window...she gave me a signal

When does school start in your area?

Boys start day after Labor Day.

I recvd N's registration info for the year.. need to prick up schedule, rent lock for gym, buy gym clothes on the 25th.

Heard nothing for J's classes, the registrar wasn't in office when we dropped off his forms.. secreary siad she would give it to her and his dean would call to set up his classes.. haven't heard yet. But I know the deans weren't expected back into office until this month.

they start the 13...and so do I...DD starts the 20th....because of snow days and fall break...

I find it amazing that you guys start so late with the winter weather you get.

I have the stupid Pioneer Press people trying to sell me their crappy conservative newspaper.. told them first time-- remove me fomr your calling list, I hate your paper.

Month later.. they call AGAIN! GRRRR I went thru this last time we moved here, had to get snappy at them.

Anyway, this lady calls me "hello, I'm calling to offer you a deal on the Pioneer press.." balh blah blah..

I stop her mid sentence and tell her

"Are you listening to me?!"

She got snippy and said " Do I have a choice?"

I replied "NO"

and then vented at her how crummy her newspaper is and to remove remove remove me form thier calling list.. okay? and she started saying "lady...." blah blah blah.. and I hung up on her.

E said next time tthey call I should ask her if she's accepted Jesus in her life and try to convert her.

I was like ummm no, I think I will ask " do you liek your job?" "tell me about your family" and be all clinical psychologists on them.

They have two or three days in schedule built in for snow days.
Rare to have a snow day, even with big storms.. they know how to plow it out quickly in the city. Rural areas have a harder time -- too spread out of an area and more icing roads, blowing snow.

It has to be a blizzard, snowfall of foot per hour type of thing to get schools to close. Or if it's dangerously cold, 40 below and 40 below wind chill-- where if you go outside any exposed skin will freeze in minutes.

They run until June 10th this year.

Ahhhh, I guess it's a good thing no one's here. DS4 pooped in his pull-up just as I logged in, so now I need to go supervise the clean-up. (Mama's playing hardball; Daddy is still a sucker to the pouty lips and crocodile tears.)
