And may I just say... the wii Fit is awesome! We are having so much fun with it! :lmao:

When I calibrated my mii (a little cartoon person representing me on-screen) at the outset, it gave me a choice of several faces, and I chose one with short brown hair. DS7 said, "Oh yeah, Mama, that one looks the most like you." Then when I gave my height and stepped on the foot console, my BMI scale went from Underweight to Normal to Overweight to Obese, and my little mii plumped up like a balloon! I thought DS7 was going to pee his pants laughing so hard! :rotfl:

I said, "Well, I guess my mii looks a bit more like the real me now, huh?" :lmao:

So far I've done a little yoga, ski jumping, table rolling, head-butting soccer balls, and a short run.

DS7 did two short runs and a long run and was barely winded. He was scored as a beginner runner and earned 22 points and one star for each. I, who ran much slower and thought I was going to DIE at the end (it's like a two minute run, for pete's sake! :rotfl2: ) scored 123 points and the maximum stars, I forget if it's 4 or 5. :woohoo:

DS was most disappointed, but I reminded him of my age and lack of fitness, as I'm sure that's why I scored so high.

Before I forget, thanks for the heads up for the new thread.:flower3:

And the Wii Fit sounds cool. We have a Wii, already, and have considered the Fit. Did you think working out was fun?

Alex, Let me rephrase that.

Do you think you will use it alot cuz it makes working out fun? Something to look forward to, like playing a game?

Are you getting my drift?

Shawna,

You're still getting your headaches?

Becky has figured out that her headaches are from stress and hormones. Especially during her monthly.

Have you figured out any connections?

No I am having them about 3-4 times a week now. Full Blown Migranes about twice a week. Something has brought them on all of the sudden and I cannot figure it out but its very difficult to function when they are coming at me like this. Jeff is hoping they do a CAT scat to see if anything is going on again. I'm sure they will because that is fairly normal. I just want him to adjust my meds for them and give me some more breakthrough meds. I'm also going to talk to him about my massive weight gain this year which I think He will notice the minute he walks in the door. :lmao:

I've had to go to the ER twice with them in July alone. I blacked out and threw up so much that Jeff rushed me in to get a demoral shot. That was nice when the shot started working! :thumbsup2

I forgot to add that Jake has never had a bloody nose in his life but he told his teacher he has them all the time.:confused3

Jeff and I are thinking he was so stressed out that it happened. I've heard of people getting stressed and having bloody noses if they are prone to it so maybe this happened in his case but he's never had one before. Strange first day.
Kids! DS4 tells people the strangest things all the time! :lmao:

And the Wii Fit sounds cool. We have a Wii, already, and have considered the Fit. Did you think working out was fun?
Well, today was the first day we had it up and running (even though I bought it on the weekend.) I'm not a gamer, either, but the boys and DH are. But people kept talking about how fun the wii Fit was, even if you aren't a gamer. I am not big on exercise (as is pretty obvious when you see me!), so I was hoping this would be a fun way to work out.

So far I really enjoyed all of it, even the I'M GOING TO DIE two-minute run. :lmao:

One thing which is cool for me, but probably not helpful to everyone, is that it forces you to set a weight goal. You put in the number of pounds you'd like to lose/gain, and select a timeframe to do it in (it defaults to two weeks.) So I said I'd like to lose 3 lbs. in 2 weeks. We'll see.

It has a calendar feature to keep track of the days you work out, and how many minutes. It does this automatically. It also can sense my weight through the wii console, which surprised me! I put in my height, and when I stepped on the console, it TOLD ME what my weight and calculated BMI was. :rotfl:

So it will automatically figure out any weight/BMI adjustments as I progress, which is cool. I like also that there are LOTS of different categories of exercises (yoga, aerobics, strength training, and ... balance? I can't remember.) Then within each category there are several games you can play. As you earn points, it displays even more games you can play, and takes you to different levels on the existing games.

It started off with very easy stuff (thank goodness, given my current condition!)

good grief, that's scary!

I need to run, DH is almost done grilling some chicken. Hope to talk to you guys later! And hang in there, Shawna!

Shawna.. Im sorry about Jake. I so hope things will be better for him tomorrow.

In Alex's class, there were 3 Alex's, and an Alejandro. :lmao:

We had our first day of the new swim session today. The kids did GREAT! I was a little worried about Mikalah swimming in the big pool... But she was excited!! She loves her new teacher, which is awesome, because she hated her last teacher.... She says she's pretty. :lmao:

Alex got a new teacher today too.. same class time and everything, but new teacher. He cried.. but by the end of class he was fine.

DS4 is down for nap, and DS7 is begging me to try out the wii Fit. We'll see if I can figure out how to get this thing hooked up...

OMG! You found the Wii Fit?? I'm so jealous! It's still sold out in all the stores here and it's sold out online. The only place to get them is on ebay but the cost is too high.

I'm glad you like it though. It is lots of fun. :goodvibes

:sad1: Rough day at my house as school started. I just got home. Jeff has had me out all day, movie, lunch and shopping to keep me from crying.

Jake had trouble this morning. I tried not to cry also in front of him knowing it would get him going more so as soon as I started I headed back to the 2nd grade area to check on Morgan.

There were about 4 girls with dresses and jewelry on just like Morgan (not the same outfits!). We've had trouble finding girlie-girl friends for her so I'm hopeful since these are new girls in her class this year. Hopefully she finds some good friends with things in common with her.

So I compose myself and go around the building to the kindergarten area. He was fighting tears but didnt drop any as of yet. He did find some boys to start playing tag with so that helped. There are 3 Jake's in his class!:scared1:

So its time to go inside and he walks with the teacher holding his hand so he cant run to me. I took a picture and he actually waved so I'm hoping he had a good time. The last picture he was waving but the others he was crying so hats off to him for being brave.

Now mommy just needs some bravery. I have a DR's appt tomorrow to discuss my headaches and Jeff is off til Thursday so I think Thursday it will hit me because I will be all alone. I'm really having trouble with this. :sad1:

Ok so we picked up Jake from school and he's covered in blood!:scared1: The teacher told me he had a bloody nose about halfway through school today and was at the nurses office for 40 minutes.:scared1: He said he was crying he was so scared in the nurses office.

Well, DUH, I would be terrified if my first day of school I was at the nurses office too!

Now he says he doesnt want to go back except to play on the playground. sigh

:grouphug: I'm sorry you had such a rough day Shawna. I'm glad your DS is okay and I wioud have freaked out too if I had such a long nose bleed.

I hope your doctor visit went well for your headaches. :flower3:

Wow! That doesn't sound like fun. Thank goodness for pain killers.

I hope your Doc can get you all fixed up. Sometimes it is such a guessing game on what works. Becky has done so many trials and errors. She is doing so much better now, but for awhile, I sure was worried. She had the opposite problem of you. She got so thin, and still is at he moment.:sad2: That darn girl is so into running and exercise, and eats way too healthy. :rotfl: I mean really, there are some things she can fudge on. When we were camping she had "light and healthy" orange juice. So I got on her case about that. Good grief. Just drink the real thing for crying out loud! She needs to gain weight so a little more sugar is not going to hurt. Geesh I digress here. Sorry!

So when you had a CAT Scan before, did they find something? Is that what Jeff meant?

onions are a food that bring on my headaches, as well as malt...both of which I still enjoy from time to time...oh and let me get stressed out and bam its on...the strange thing is my BP will get very low with a very bad one....

Good evening hyenas. Just a quick post. I haven't been feeling too well and I had a horrible horrible night and couldn't sleep. I think I have a 24 hr flu bug. I called in sick this morning and tried to sleep. My whole body felt like I was hit by a truck and I had the worst headache.

I made some chicken soup: chicken thighs, Swanson's chicken broth, chopped leeks, white potatoes and some salt & pepper. I ate it with some steamed rice. I feel a lot better after having slept.

Hey Pix!

Did you hear that Disney raised the price of admission tickets? And I have a question to pick your brain. Doesn't DL usually have discount tickets during the slow season for So Cal residents?

That is interesting, cuz most times it seems to be connected to high BP.
