Last night I was in the kitchen with my bf, when all of a sudden I see this huge black spider.I grabbed by bug spray that shoots really far (it's Ortho Home Defense) and it fell and ran real quick behind one of the couches. I freaked out because the spider ran real fast and it also appeared about 2 ft away from me and I freaked. I swear it appeared out of nowhere and just scared the bejeezus out of me!

I sprayed it again and it finally died but I hate hate hate bugs!![]()
Oh my! Rescuing the thread from obscurity on page 3, people!![]()
So... I had hoped to get a shipment out today, but no can do yet, I'm waiting on information from the company I'm shipping to as to the money I will owe them.
Here's the deal: Two years ago... (Or was it three?) when DS7 (who is turning 8 next week) was 5yo, DH's mother asked for a gift idea for him. I had just heard of IlluStory, which is a really cool idea! You buy the kit from the store to write/illustrate a story (it contains pens and special papers), then ship the completed pages into the company, and they turn it into a hardbound book for you!
So DH's mother bought this, and it wasn't for another year or so that DS drew on the pages. He couldn't write very well at the time, so I had him dictate what the pictures were about. I think I was going to have him draw a few more pictures for his story (all were scenes from our life, including members of the family, including grandparents, but he hadn't gotten around to my parents or siblings yet.)
We sort of forgot about this project awhile, but DS unearthed it during Great-Grandma's last visit. We showed her the pages, which she thought were adorable, funny and sweet. Since DS7 is so much older now, we decided it would look odd to add pages at this point, so I went ahead and sent in what we had, and ordered 4 copies of the book so we could give some to the grandparents.![]()
So the books arrived but had errors in the text. Turns out two were typographical errors on the part of the company, but one very grave error was mine, naming the Grandma that bought the gift by Great-Grandma's name. The typos I could have lived with (though it just would have looked sloppy, IMO), but the wrong name, especially for the person who bought the gift? No can do! So I have to send the books back, and pay for my error.![]()
Now that DS has seen the completed book, he's eager to do another! Since he has problems with his handwriting, I'm all for anything that will encourage him to practice!![]()
So think I'll pick up another kit for his 8th birthday next week.![]()
Ok....so who is patiently awaiting an update![]()
So...turns out the story is really not that exciting after all. We showed up to school, and DH explained why he got off early to be there. DD was a bit confused, and he explained that we were both super scared and worried. So we walked to the car, and had a chat. Her story was told excellently, but parts just didn't make sense. She explained that she did go to the wrong classroom (there were two classes with the same number), the teacher did try to call, but couldn't and that she did nothing wrong. This really did not make too much sense, so being the CSI junkies that we are, we turned back to the school to investigate. She showed us the other room (that did not have the same number), and told us the name of the teacher. Well....we hunted down the teacher and interrogated her, and sure enough her story was legit. Her and the boy mistakenly went into the wrong room, and when DD was paged, the other teacher realized it and went to call the office. Well....evidently...it seems as though some psycho parent panicked and freaked out that their child was missing and pretty much had the school on lockdown and all the phone lines were tied up

so the teacher could not notify the office.....oops...
What a first day

You're going to do really well when she turns into a teenager. Always think the worst case scenario, then be pleasantly surprised when it turns out much better than you think.Yeah, well I am glad it turned out ok - she was not anywhere alone with the boy, and the world is a happy place.
Now I can focus on the boy - who is doing awesome in kindergarten!!! The teacher asked him a question, and based off his answer had no clue he was speech delayed. They asked if we brought the communication device, DH looked confused, and they said, well, he is doing pretty good so it might not be necessary!!! During the parent meeting they had to draw a picture, and only about 1/3 of the kids wrote their name where it said "name", but he was one of themThe class is so amazing too...there are 2 full time teachers, 4 aides, student helpers, and check this out...19 kids, and only 10 are full day. So he has all these helpers with just 10 kids after 11:40 - pretty much 4 hours of free 1:1 help

so I went to get my books today...I have to go back tomorrow...I uhhhh...left my wallet on the kitchen tableI took it out to see how much money I had...(which would not have been enough with me anyway...but my plastic was there....) anyway I say, so can you get them together and I will run back in the morning...sure no problem....by the way how much are they...530.00 WTH...... so I say...well you need to tell me how much my sons are...oh...595.00....are you flipping kidding me? a thousand dollars for books....I ask her if I should just cut off my arm there or at home....she laughed.....I am not sure but I think I was serious....

What up Staley-rooni?![]()

Hey! So what's with the breathing thing? You're having a hard time because of coughing? A lingering, nagging cough could mean bronchitis.
Dunno why.Nothing special... Im starting to have some trouble breathing, so the hubby thinks that maybe I should go to the Dr. tomorrow... But I dont WANNA!!! I am so not sick enough for the Dr. I have only been sick for a couple of weeks, its not like Im on my death bed or something. A little coughing is no big deal.![]()
It won't hurt to go to the Dr.
The manager in the billing dept at his work offered him a position a few months ago. My bf accepted because it would mean less stress for him, better hours and a raise. Well they said that his supervisor plus one of the pharmacists had to approve. The pharmacist was on vacation for a month and just returned, found out my bf was offered to transfer and got pissed. She doesn't want him to transfer and she called him their "golden boy" because he does so much for their lazy rumps!
She gives him the "silent treatment" and then says that she needs to train a new girl to take his place before he can move.
He plans to go to America's Tire tomorrow but he's just really upset that he's having a bad day. I feel really bad because bad days are the worst and it makes one feel like absolute crap.
I will give it a few more days.. I dont particularly like going to the Dr. for every little thing, especially if it is just going to go away on its own.
