Here it is Melody

ok, Who Wants To Try To Beat My First Day Of School???

I am a flurry of emotions this morning. I take my kiddos to school, about 20 minutes before the bell rings. I take Alecia to her classroom, she meets her teacher, and eagerly runs outside to play. I then take Alec to his classroom. I fill out a bunch of forms, and am instructed to sit down for a kindergarten parent meeting. Alec is looking pretty nervous here, so with a couple minutes before the bell rings, I decide to run him to the potty real quick. While he is inside the potty, I see Alecia's class lining up and getting ready to go into the classroom - but Alecia is not there. I ask the teacher where my daughter is, she says is she not here, I say NO and look concerned. A police officer who patrols the school is there, says this happens all the time, and says he will go to the office to call her name. At this point, I run Alec to his class, explain the situation to the teachers, and go back in frantic search of my missing daughter. I am freaking out pretty bad. I run outside, search the playground calling her name. I check the restrooms, and still no. I then go to the office, still pretty panicked to try to call DH. (He was at the bank, and didn't answer). They keep calling her name over the intercom, and eventually ask each teacher to do a head count and send any extras to the office. Then they realize Trenton is missing to. This actually relieved me a bit, knowing that she was not kidnapped, but probably in BIG TIME TROUBLE. Shortly after this point, both kids show up to class claiming to have gotten lost.

A. Trenton is a bad kid from her class last year
B. The school is small
C. She did not get lost. No way. That is not her. It would not happen.

MY 7 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER DITCHED THE BEGINNING OF 2ND GRADE AND WAS DISAPPEARED WITH A BOY FOR NEARLY 45 MINUTES :faint: :headache:

Just wait until the kid gets home - she is in TROUBLE. Not only do I have no idea what she was doing with the boy, she disrupted her class, Alec's class, and the entire school for 30 minutes. Based upon what she has to say I really want to talk to the principal and have her brought in. I am so peeved.......

My other concern though is what if I hadn't taken Alec potty. When would they have noticed her missing??? I am building a basement and we are home schooling.

Good Morning!!

I was put on a higher dose of my same old meds. And I should get my thyroid bloodwork back today to see if anything is wrong with that.

I'm off to take the kids to school now so I might be crying when I come home! :sad1: Jeff has been home with me all week.

Jake loves school now so we just had to get through the first couple days.

Good morning, hyenas!
Sunny today! :yay:

I thought it might be a bit overcast after the thunderstorm warning last night, but maybe that already burned off earlier this morning. :confused3

DS4 is up, but DS7 is still sleeping, very unusual. I'll just let him keep sleeping, I figure it's good for him. And these days of sleeping in are NUMBERED now. ;)

Good Morning Hyenas,

Shawna- I just read your re-cap of Dizzy's posts. I must have missed those, but good gravy!!

Dizzy- I'm sorry you had a bad day and I would have been so upset too. I hope you have a better day today

Last night I was in the kitchen with my bf, when all of a sudden I see this huge black spider. :scared1: I grabbed by bug spray that shoots really far (it's Ortho Home Defense) and it fell and ran real quick behind one of the couches. I freaked out because the spider ran real fast and it also appeared about 2 ft away from me and I freaked. I swear it appeared out of nowhere and just scared the bejeezus out of me! :scared1:

I sprayed it again and it finally died but I hate hate hate bugs! :headache:

Oh my! Rescuing the thread from obscurity on page 3, people! :sad2:

So... I had hoped to get a shipment out today, but no can do yet, I'm waiting on information from the company I'm shipping to as to the money I will owe them.

Here's the deal: Two years ago... (Or was it three?) when DS7 (who is turning 8 next week) was 5yo, DH's mother asked for a gift idea for him. I had just heard of IlluStory, which is a really cool idea! You buy the kit from the store to write/illustrate a story (it contains pens and special papers), then ship the completed pages into the company, and they turn it into a hardbound book for you!

So DH's mother bought this, and it wasn't for another year or so that DS drew on the pages. He couldn't write very well at the time, so I had him dictate what the pictures were about. I think I was going to have him draw a few more pictures for his story (all were scenes from our life, including members of the family, including grandparents, but he hadn't gotten around to my parents or siblings yet.)

We sort of forgot about this project awhile, but DS unearthed it during Great-Grandma's last visit. We showed her the pages, which she thought were adorable, funny and sweet. Since DS7 is so much older now, we decided it would look odd to add pages at this point, so I went ahead and sent in what we had, and ordered 4 copies of the book so we could give some to the grandparents. :lovestruc

So the books arrived but had errors in the text. Turns out two were typographical errors on the part of the company, but one very grave error was mine, naming the Grandma that bought the gift by Great-Grandma's name. The typos I could have lived with (though it just would have looked sloppy, IMO), but the wrong name, especially for the person who bought the gift? No can do! So I have to send the books back, and pay for my error. :headache:

Now that DS has seen the completed book, he's eager to do another! Since he has problems with his handwriting, I'm all for anything that will encourage him to practice! :thumbsup2

So think I'll pick up another kit for his 8th birthday next week. :cutie:

We ran down to Blockbuster to return the movies we rented last week, and since I had a coupon, I let the boys rent a couple more. I also got the next couple of DVDs of Big Love. (I am just fascinated by polygamy for some reason, and kept hearing how good this cable show was.)

So DS4 rented yet another Scooby Doo cartoon (GEESH, I think we've rented all but two of them now...) and DS7 chose a Stargate cartoon! (I can just see Staley's face now... another convert!) :lmao:

There was a Dairy Queen nearby, and DANG IT, I was hungry, so we stopped in there for lunch. We all got a burger, and the boys got an ice cream as part of their kids' meal, so they were thrilled! :yay:

I am still burping up my burger, so don't think we'll do that again anytime soon. I'll just stick to the ice cream. :rotfl:

Since no one is here to play, I guess I will go pop in the next episode of Big Love. :thumbsup2

Come out hyenas! Where are you all hiding? I'm going to start busting out priority charts like nobody's business!! :rotfl:

pix, why don't you call the radio shack where dizzy lives and see if you can buy it and get it shipped?
The one I got was special ordered for someone else, but they hadn't picked it up yet :rolleyes1

Hmm....that's a good idea but I'm not sure if they would take phone orders.

Ugh, what is it with MIL's? They are like this evil curse that cannot be broken. I hope to the heavens that if I do get married I don't end up with an evil MIL. :scared1:
My MIL is awesome!!!

My mil was AWFUL when we first met. HORRID wretch of a woman. She called my son a tarbaby... When he was 6 MONTHS OLD. I almost killed the witch with a B.
