Okay, let's start over.









Hi my name is Bernice. I fell in love with Disneyland on my first trip with my family. It was our very first vacation, we went to celebrate my dh's successful kidney transplant and me (as his donor) getting thru the surgery with no problems. Sadly the kidney rejected and he is on dialysis again, has been dialyzing at home which is awesome but a tiny bit stressful. But we had a wonderful 3 1/2 yrs free of dealing with renal disease, during that time my dh earned his degree as a middle school science teacher. After he graduated we moved to CA, teaching jobs in our state (MN) are highly competitive so he needed experience.

While we lived in Moreno Valley we went to DL just about every weekend, it was fun! But we found that the hurry scurry lifestyle was just not for us and our boys were unhappy in the schools there. We moved back to MN, to the same apartment building we had left the year before (next to Dominos)!

Now dh will teach science to 4th and 5th grade for 5 hours per week and will be on SS disability (still waiting for the forms to be processed ARGH!!!!) I stay at home, do occasional respite care of my nephews who have autism. We have two boys Justin 17 and Noah 14.. both will be in high school this year! I am a super deal and coupon user which is how we can scrape by on a teeny tiny income.

Welcome to this friendly group of people.. who right now are just having a tiny bit of blowing off steam. But I know they will all come back and we all can be great friends.

B you know I love ya and none of this was directed at you right?? You have always been kind and welcoming to me and like I said ignore the above crapola. I just peacefully moved on to other parts of the boards and don't know why this even had to happen but I thank my TRUE friends, you, Sara M, and Rochelle for sticking up for me and for being great people. YOU guys are the reason I came and the reason I stayed. I just kinda got my feelings hurt was all so rather than make a stink I just moved on. Like I said it probably was just a misunderstanding but certainly didn't need all this BS.

Hey by the way where the heck is Allison? I miss her humor!!

And good luck to Eloy with the teaching and the dreaded SS! Don't envy you there!

I am Kelly 43, married to Shane 37 and have 2 daughters Katy 10 and Shelby 9.

We live in northern CA and go to DL as much as we can which usually ends up being at least once a year. I am a HUGE Disney fan and have been to DW 3 times and am hoping to go again in Nov. I work part time and our biggest preoccupation is our girls sports. They play 4 sports a year and the latest venture is Shelby is starting piano next week!

Just a heads up.. Alison emailed me some menu plans and shared that her hot flashes are horribly unbearable right now. Making it hard to sit at the computer or sit and do anything for any length of time. Hopefully with fall around the corner and staring up meds again.. she will be back with her wonderful humor!

My name is Sarah. I'm 29. I live with my DBF in the high desert. We have been together 11 years this month. He has a DS11 and DD14 but they live with their mom. We have a Staffordshire Bull Terrier named Sampson, 2 Persian kittys named Pearl and Diamond, 2 Sulcatas (tortoises) named Twitch and Itty Bitty, a Cockatoo named Pedro, and a handful of fish.

I work in the accounting department of our local newspaper and have been here over 8 years.

Oh my! I miss the days where everyone just got along and laughed at each other and ourselves! I imagine I haven't been super friendly with the new people on our thread, it was never anything personal just with moving to a new country I haven't had much time to get to know everyone new.
I'm Christina, moved to Scotland three years ago and being on a different time zone made it difficult to keep in touch as much as we all used to. Now I'm back in the Americas! In Canada, and pop on whenever I'm able!

Pixter, what you're going through is personal and tough, don't let anyone's comments bring you down. Keep on going strong, you're doing amazing!
Kelmac, I hope you'll reconsider posting we really are a friendly bunch, I think we all just get caught up in our goings on's!

Sara have fun at ZZ Top. LOVE them!! Reminds me of my high school days. By the way my 25th reunion is in a few weeks and I am still debating about going. None of my close friends are able to go so I hadn't planned to go but it sounds like fun so it is still up in the air.

And that is SO awesome that you are doing the marathon. I hope your mom or DBF gets lots of pics and I agree with B. I wanta see that medal!!

And yeah hope it cools off!!! It was 107 here today! BLEH! I was supposed to go to a jewelry show with mom but this heat sets off my migraines so alas here I sit.

just to let you all know.. skiingfast just told me what he had done. sorry kelly i did not tell him to do that. and so i am really really mad at him,im just in shock still.. and infact so much that i dumped him.... so you don't need to worry he wont be writing you anymore, and you dont need to contact him. he tried to fix the situation, but it made it worst, i had no idea this happend i havn't been on in like 2 hours. his heart was in the right place, but he didn't do the correct thing, i am sooo beside myself right now and shocked at his actions.. i am just so saddend by what he has done. i don't know if i can every forgive him sorry.. sorry everyone and all the hatefull things he mentioned that you all said about me, im sure i deserve it.. good luck kelly with everything in life.

Thanks guys for the support. I really appreciate it. I'm glad to have you guys and my family and friends behind me. I have been told some positive things about how much I'm growing and changing for the better lately. My friends and family are proud of me for trying new things and taking the initiative and steps to better myself and heal. Knowledge really is power and I am armed with it this time and it has helped me gain insights and answers for things I was left confused about.

Just as one of the previous posts here said, it takes time to heal and Christina, you are right. I don't need to care or be told how to feel from anyone. It doesn't matter because those who know me have been normal and understanding about my situation and I really appreciate that. One thing that was comforting was that I was told by my therapist: "Do you know how many people I've seen who have been in abusive relationships and they just keep going back? They don't do the work to heal themselves and they continue to go back to their abuser. You're not doing that! I'm so proud of you and you are doing all the right things to live a better life!"

If someone had an issue with me, I would think the sensible and mature thing would be to tell me directly. Instead, it was discussed behind my back and the resentment came out. I'm not a mind reader and I am sick of all of this. I'm done thinking about it any further and am not going to waste any more energy on it.

Hi,

I'm Rochelle and I'm 30. I have no kids, not married and work full time in inside sales. Sometimes it's tough but I've learned a lot and work with great people.

Recently I've been taking various classes (for fun) and have met some really cool people. I re-established friendships with people I lost touch with, I would love to travel more, been spending more time with family and it's been great. I've become more outgoing. I will literally hop in my car and drive off to various places with my friends or by myself and just explore and have fun. It's so cool to try out new food places or fun activities. I've decided to go back to school and just take classes to finish and get my Bachelor's degree.

I love Disney. It's always been my stress reliever and it makes me happy. I love collecting and trading pins which is always fun to do.

As they say it's a new day so let's all start over fresh and "don't worry, be happy".

Rochelle I have told you before and I will say it again, what you have gone through is extremely hard and NO one can knock you for it. I have gone through a lot of tough stuff myself and what the heck is this "chat" board for if not to CHAT about our lives and gain support from our friends. Talk all you want. I for one am here and will give you all the support you need because I have been there done that. I have never even HAD a relationship that has lasted that long. My first marriage only lasted 8 years but I HAVE been through a divorce so in that respect I can relate to an extent. And unfortunately I am going through a rough time currently and have been married almost 12 years so am a little closer to where you are at. So I CERTAINLY can relate to needing someone to talk to and needing support.

I am proud of you and think you are doing awesome!!

Oh man is it hot down there? HOLY COW it is hot here. 107 yesterday and they said it is going to break records again today. You KNOW it is going to be bad when you wake up and it is ALREADY 80 degrees at 6 a.m. FAINT!!!

I have a TERRIBLE sinus headache from sleeping under the constant AC all night. The vent is RIGHT over my head in our bed and then of course Shane had to have the fan blowing on us on top of it LOL. I am one of those people that having air blowing on me makes my sinuses go nuts. So know I have a sinus migraine. BLEH. I was supposed to go to a jewelry party with mom last night but when I went to pick up the girls from school that heat did me in and so I didn't go because I KNEW that being out in that I would get a terrible headache and sure enough this morning BAM!

Anyway I have told some of you but for those that don't know we have been going back and forth FOREVER about going back to Florida. My mom has a timeshare and discovered about a year ago that she had 2 weeks that she hadn't deposited but nonetheless they were there and she had to use them or loose them. Well we have been trying to decide for the last year what to do with them. Last year we were going to use them but instead we ended up going to DC/NYC. So then this year she really wanted to trade it for a cruise and we thought about it but it was pretty expensive so then we found out about free dinning and so we decided about a month ago to do that.

Mom booked it but we haven't bought the airfare or anything and life has just been stressful and we have literally gone back and forth on this thing 100 times as to whether or not we were going to go but she is BOUND and determined even though we prob shouldn't. BUT she does have that week which she is going to lose AND she has already paid a dep for the DW part sooo we prob should go. So today as long as I don't fall over from this headache LOL I am prob going to go in and we are going to attempt to finally get the airfare bought and make our ADRS. Wish us luck!! I hope it all works out. Eventhough I am apprehensive I am still excited and DEF can use the break!!

And then this weekend is the girls seeding tournament for soccer so it is going to be a busy weekend. Then of course there is a break for labor day and then we are having Katy's big Luau birthday party. Her real birthday is actually New Year's eve but she has always wanted a "summer" party so we are letting her do it early this year. She is SO excited.

So lots of fun and exciting things coming up.

Anyway that is what's been going on in my life. Hope everyone is good and happy to be back.

Thanks Kelly for your comment. I really appreciate it. I know I am on the right path and I am not going to allow anyone to throw me off or put me down. It isn't easy but I know I have a better future and will be happier. Thank you all for the support

That sucks about the sinus headache I always sleep with the fan on because my room is the hottest one in the house I don't like it but the fan helps. The A/C is on auto so that helps too.

That luau party sounds like fun I hope you go on your much needed vacation with your family. I hope to do a Disney Cruise one day and go back to WDW.

Thanks Rochelle! Yeah Katy really hates having her birthday in the winter cuz usually the weather is really bad and she can never do any kind of outdoor party and then it being on a holiday, eventhough I usually do it a week or so later, it makes it hard cuz a lot of kids usually are busy and can't come because of the holidays and such. I told her when she is a teen and adult she will LOVE having it on New Year's LOL.

But for now it kind of stinks. At least she wasn't born when she was due which was Christmas day. I feel REALLY sorry for people born on Christmas. As it is my mom tries to gip her and not get her much for her birthday since it is a week later, always saying, "well I just got her xyz for christmas" and I always tell her, well if her birthday was in June would you be saying that??? Plus Shelby's is in April and I tell her you don't get Shelby less because HER birthday is in April so it is not Katy's fault when her birthday falls.

YES it is hard to try and buy presents or throw a party RIGHT after the holidays but again it is not her fault when she was born. So this will be a great alternative this year.

She is going to have her party with her friends NOW and then on her ACTUAL birthday we will do a small family party like we do every year and just have a small cake and she will get her gifts from us and my parents. So it will be nice for her.

She is SO excited and I just hope it all goes off without a hitch. I have been out at the dollar store looking for hawaiian themed items so it has been fun

And I SO would love to do a Disney Cruise or ANY cruise for that matter someday. But for now I am happy to get to do ANY vacation!!
