Chatterbox Thread-Cmon in and Jabber! Everyone is Welcome!

Morning and happy Friday!

((hugs)) Rochelle! Like I said this is a tough long road and you will do great you'll see! It is just going to take time!

Tina sounds like your new place is pretty awesome!! Enjoy!!

Bernice I hope you get all that mess with SS straightened out. Dh collects VA benefits and I know THAT was a nightmare trying to get it all set up and we have since gotten a new bank acct but I had to leave our old one open because he has a direct deposit of his va bennies, his child support (IF and WHEN he ever gets it) and his vacation pay from work. The work one I could change but the other two forget it! It is like pulling teeth dealing with state and federal agencies. First you have to actually get someone on the phone and then trying to get ANYTHING done is just a royal pain! I hope you get all yours worked out with NO gaps in pay!!!

Yesterday was my ONE day where I didn't HAVE to do anything. We skipped swim in the morning and then just ran some errands but were home most of the day. Shane took the girls to eve swim and I was going to go with them to DQ but I wasn't feeling well so he just ran over there and got their free cone and came home.

Now today it is BACK to work again and the CPA is finally coming in so it is going to be a busy day. Shane is working out of town again so it looks like I am going to have to take the girls to swim tonight so hopefully I feel up to it!!

Then we are going to HAVE to run to the store tonight because we never did our reg grocery run this week and we are out of a bunch of stuff and need stuff for the meet tomorrow as well.

Then tomorrow is the meet and nothing in the eve that I know of which is a good thing and nothing on Sunday either so we can just relax!

As far as I know there is not much going on next week as well either except just the last week of reg practices and I have the dishwasher guy coming and then on Friday the girls are supposed to be doing roller skating although I haven't heard if that is still on.

REALLY not looking forward to champs this year. They are SUCH long days but it must be done. We have to get up at like 4 a.m. to get out there and then it is LONG gaps in between events because there are like 1000 or more swimmers and EVERYONE has to swim EVERY event except the relays! So it takes FOREVER to get through stuff. We usually don't get done till 5 or 6 every day and of course Katy is in both relays as well so she is swimming EVERYTHING!

I just hope it isn't too hot because there is NO relief from the heat either!

I will be honest I am REALLY anxious to be done and as much as I am excited for Katy to make the Meet of Champs I am so not looking forward to going LOL. It is EVEN longer than reg champs!

I guess we shall see but I am almost positive she will be in both relays for sure and possibly 1 or 2 indiv events. Hopefully at least the butterfly and maybe the free.

I'll honestly just be glad when these next few weeks are over! ;)

We are really wanting to do another weekend jaunt and thinking about the mountains this time. Shane wants to go up to Shasta but I know there isn't a whole lot up there and I was looking into the Redwoods up by Eurkea but it says on mapquest it is a 6 hour drive and that is a LOT for a weekend SOOOO I don't think we will be doing that. I am still investigating but hopefully we will be able to do SOME kind of little weekend gettaway before the summer is over.

We also decided that over the holidays we want to go back to the city and spend the night and see all the christmas decs in Union square and such. I used to go every year with our office through a title company trip but they had to stop doing it. I REALLY miss it and I told Shane it would be fun to go down for an overnighter just to see the city all decorated and enjoy the christmas spirit!

So hopefully that works out.

Mom is STILL talking about doing a cruise over thanksgiving too and I don't know if that will happen but I am hoping we can at the bare minimum take a long weekend and go back to DL in either Nov or early dec. We shall see.

So those are some things to look forward to! Hopefully a few of them happen!!

Anyway have a great day all and talk later!

Hubby forgot to order a med with the last delivery, so we hopped the bus and headed to CVS. The thought of him being off med for almost a week was the motivation to boogie out the door. He's not an easy person to live with when it wears off.

Quickly put together deals and spent $25 :
4 tubes of Olay regenerist face cleanser (this alone is $28)
1 container of Noxema cleanser for the pimply man and boys
2 peg bags of LifeSavers
2 bags of gum packs (Juicy Fruit!)
2 bags dove chocolate with caramel (mmmmm)
8 bottles of Sobe water (play the game once a day, win printable B1G1 coupons.. they are B1G1 on sale at CVS this week. FREE after coupons!)

AND
earned $13 in ECB's to use later
Hopefully some good deals next week to "roll" them into another ECB earning deal. :thumbsup2

I've stopped doing Walgreen's deals because they hurt my head.. :lmao:
But CVS is fairly easy to pull deals together based on various blogs posting the best sale and coupon match ups.

Morning and happy Saturday!

Well yesterday was interesting at work. Our CPA hadn't been there in FOREVER then he FINALLY came in only to tell me he could only stay for 15 mins!!! I was NOT pleased because I am STILL learning quickbooks and don't feel very confident with certain things and we have quarterlies due the end of the month and it is not bringing stuff up like I thought it would and I just feel like he is not doing his job. He is leaving WAY too much in my lap and I have no formal training at all. I am just BARELY a book keeper and don't feel comfortable being handed all of the accounting and that is why we HIRED him for the more complicated stuff and he is doing NONE of it. It is making me really nervous. We have had really bad luck with CPA's over the last few years. We had a great one for years but she retired and ever since then it has been one bad experience after the other. The last TWO we had made mistakes and missed things and now I am doing a lot MORE than I used to and a lot MORE of what THEY used to do but I still don't feel comfortable doing all of it because again after all I have had no formal training and am NOT a CPA and that is what we hired HIM for. But I feel like since we have Quickbooks that he thinks "I" should be able to do it all and it is NOT making me feel comfortable at all. What I DON'T want is to get in trouble with the IRS because something was done wrong or missed! I have expressed this to my mom but as always she is so overworked and stressed out she is like well I don't know what to do. And I was like well we probably need to find someone else but like always we can't AFFORD someone else so it is just ugly! :(

Anyway then I came home and I was really tired so I laid down to take a nap but I woke up with a huge headache but shane was out of town so I had to take the girls to swim so it really sucked because it was almost 100 and that certainly didn't help my head any. By the time we got home I was done! I took a bath and went straight to bed. I feel better this morning so hopefully it doesn't come back today!!

Will be interested to see what events they have the girls swim as there is a few things they haven't swam the whole season and usually they have to swim each event at least once but I am wondering if they will do that this time. Plus this is another hard team so I hope Katy does well and doesn't have another bad day!!

Also I found out that Shane has his soccer coaching clinic the day of Meet of Champs which means he won't be able to take Katy so I am hoping that she can ride with one of the other parents because Shelby is not swimming and I was only planning on going for part of the day if at all so hopefully it works out. It is a ways a way and a LOOONG day so I really am hoping I don't have to go by myself and be stuck there all day but I guess it will remain to be seen.

B you always amaze me at all the awesome deals you manage to get! Great job!!

Hope everyone else has a great day today and a great weekend.

Take care everyone and talk later!!

I live at the grocery store now.. :rotfl:
I couldn't resist putting together one more deal and had some coupons that matched very well with a new coupon mailer that just started. Got a full cart load of stuff, after coupons it came out to be under $1 each item. :thumbsup2

Our little cart was stuffed full, Eloy is great about stacking bags and bulky items (like a jug of detergent that decided to leak when it was laying on its side.. urgh!) to have it all fit. It was heavy to push home but at least it wasn't terribly hot and the threatening storm only gave us a short sprinkle.

We slowed down near the park, spied a few monarchs and a gorgeous BIG yellow butterfly. Beautiful and vibrant yellow bird, I think it was an Oriole and red wing black birds. The frogs of all sizes and colors leaping into the taller grass as we walked near.. bloop, sppppppprrrrring!

Wild flowers in full bloom with purple clover, buttercups, brown eyed susans mixed with tall grasses, trees and some raspberry bushes.

I love a MN summer

Eloy commented "look what we would miss if we drove to the store".
So true and we are loving this slower paced life.

Good Morning Ladies. Got on the DIS yesterday, read all the posts I've missed lately, posted a big long post....and it wouldn't post!!!! GRRRR!!!!

Now of course I'm too lazy to go repost everything, besides can't remember half of what I said anyway.:lmao:

But here are the highlights....

WELCOME BACK Christina! So glad you're back on our time zone.:thumbsup2

Kelly, I will PM you my email address. I would be happy to help you with your accounting woes. Yes, you guessed it, I'm an accountant. I've spent many years working on the DacEasy software, but this winter I switched our accounting system over to Quickbooks. I'm not a Quickbooks expert, but found it very easy to use. However, I do have a very good understanding of accounting, so I can pretty much answer any accounting question.:thumbsup2

B. Thanks for the anniversary wishes. I barely seen DH on the 4th though.:rotfl2: There was an MX race, so I stayed home and did housework while he took DD racing. We are going to go on a camping trip to the beach next month, without the kidlets!:woohoo:

Good morning and happy Sunday!

Well the girls had a pretty good meet yesterday. Katy's medley team did awesome and had one of their best times ever and took 1st so had a GREAT start to the morning. But then in the 25 free they had some fast swimmers and even though Katy dropped her personal time she took 3rd overall so she was bummed and she gets REALLY upset with herself and sometimes it can kill the rest of the day. We tell her over and over not to let one race dampen the rest of the day but she gets WAY over emotional and it is SO frustrating. She doesn't see that she has dropped her time ONLY that she didn't get first. Anyway then in the 50 free her time actually went up a bit and again she took 3rd but she seemed ok with that one thank goodness and then in her fly I was really worried because it LOOKED like she was going to get 4th or 5th but she actually took 2nd and dropped her time a bit. She swam it in a 16 something during the Medley but did it in 17.89 during the indiv which is still her best time so far. Then their free relay time once again took first and it was a VERY close race and they did their best time again. Did it in 1.02 so that was awesome!!

Shelby swam the 25 free and dropped her time down to an 18 which is her personal best and had a tough time with her back stroke and took 3rd in her heat and was dead last overall so didn't do too well in that one but did well in her breast stroke and did it in a 26 which is also her best time this year in that as well and she got a 3rd in that as well. So overall she had a pretty good day too.

It was SO flippin hot though and towards the end of the day I was getting a nasty headache again from the heat so I was SO glad to get home. I took a cool shower and we ordererd in and just watched a few movies. Well we didn't go up to bed till after 10 and wouldn't you know our stupid upstairs ac is broken AGAIN! This is the third summer in a row it has done this and I am SO angry because the ac guy was JUST here. My dad was going to replace the unit too because it is 30 years old and it broke the last 2 summers in a row when we got hot days over 100 it can't handle it and breaks. It has been a mild year so I have had my whole house fan on quite a bit and JUST now have been running the air more and yesterday it didn't even get to 100 and it broke! SO frustrating!!! I guarantee I will be lucky if he comes out by tomorrow and this time I think he is going to HAVE to replace it. He can't just keep coming and fixing the same part cuz obviously it is going to KEEP breaking!!! So maddening cuz everytime this happens we are dying for a few days with no ac and can't sleep upstairs or even stand to go up there cuz it gets over 90 up there.

Anyway I also have the dishwasher guy coming so I feel like EVERYTHING is breaking which is so true with this place. It is over 100 years old and my parent did a remodel in the early 80's but that has been 30 years ago and this place REALLY needs a lot of work but no one has the money and it is literally falling a part! :(

Anyway hopefully we can get it resolved soon!!

Not sure WHAT I am going to do today other than tons of laundry but I guess we will be hiding out downstairs and maybe go to mom's and swim!!

Hope you guys are having fun this weekend and good job B on another great shopping excursion and your walk sounded fun!! :)

Oh Alison that would be wonderful. One of my biggest pet peeves is on the payroll it does not seem to take out the proper fed and state amounts and I have asked the CPA 100 times how to fix it and he "doesn't know" which seems odd to me that he is a CPA and doesn't know. I have to go in manually EVERY time and adust them and then when our office manager gets "extra" checks every so often (she gets commissions on certain deals) I have to do separate checks from her normal payroll so I have to figure the taxes myself and when I put in the gross it always tells me NO fed or state tax is due and based on the gross I KNOW this can't be right. Now granted the checks are sometimes only like 400 or 500 bucks but I only make 300 and it takes out 18 bucks a week for me on fed and 6.00 for state so I KNOW it should take out SOMETHING!!

And then as I said with our OLD accountants they used to do up these packets for the quarterlies and prepare the 941's, 944's and the EDD forms etc for me and I would get a cover sheet with a box checked saying WHICH forms I need to fill out and send for which quarter and whether or not money was due and I would simply just need to mail them in and possibly add a check. NOW supposedly quickbooks is supposed to generate the necessary forms but 2nd quarter is due the end of this month and had I know SORT of remembered I wouldn't have even known. I brought it up to my mom and then to him and when we went in to Quickbooks I had to go through 15 different channels just to FIND the forms. It seems they should automatically pop up or something when they are due like the payroll tax ones for the 15th. But regardless I sure the heck don't know WHICH ones are due when or how to fill them out and he was NOT being very helpful and it made me REALLY nervous. I am doing the payroll tax tomorrow at work and "hoping" that that may trigger something cuz I have only done 1st quarters in April so I don't remember what we did last time but it just makes me REALLY uncomfortable because I don't feel qualified to be doing all this on my own and don't want to make any mistakes!

And my mom did agree that that is why we HAVE a cpa for that stuff and to do the corp taxes etc. I basically do all the "entry" during the month and he is supposed to do the actual taxes at the end of the year. I just put it all together for him.

Anyway sorry for the novel but this stuff drives me nuts cuz I don't want it to get screwed up.

Oh and just the other day we got this lovely form from the board of equalization saying we hadn't filed a USE tax form for tax years 07, 08, and 09 and I was like WHY didn't our last acct know this and tell us this??? And we don't even HAVE any use tax due. It is only for if you buy stuff out of state which we DON'T do. We are a real estate office and we don't do out of state transactions! But anyway just one more crazy thing!! :)

Morning and happy Monday all!!

Well it is yet another week!! Luckily it is the LAST week of regular practices for swim and I am SO glad! The only thing I DON'T know at this point is if Katy will have to go back for practices for meet of champs. I guess we will see. I am mixed on the subject. I really want her to be able to go but I am SO ready for this to be over. We'll see I guess. I know many of the parents are so ready for it to be over by this point and a lot of them, even if their kids make meet of champs don't even take them and the coaches really have to beg a lot of the parents to bring them. We will def let Katy do it but we're just burnt out!

We have practice all this week and to make matters worse it is supposed to hit double digits this weekend which will make it extra miserable cuz the champs go from about 4 a.m. till at least 6 both days. So it is LOOONG days. I will def be glad when this weekend is over ;)

Hopefully my dad will be calling first thing this morning on our AC. We went to their house last night to swim and for dinner but when we got home it still wasn't quite cool enough yet to turn on the whole house fan and it was close to 90 upstairs. Luckily it hasn't hit the 100's yet so we WERE able to get it nice and cool in there when we DID turn it on and by this morning it was 68 in there but it is ALREADY hot this morning so I don't think it will stay cool up there as long as it did yesterday. I sure hope he can come and fix it today!!

Then I have to go in to work today to do they payroll tax and some other stuff so I am REALLY hoping that it triggers the quarterlies otherwise I am going to be stressing over THAT as well but I guess I will just have to wait and see. Then tomorrow I have the guy coming to fix my dishwasher and it is one of those "I'll be there between 9 and 5" So I will be stuck here most of the day waiting for him to show up.

After that I don't think we have anything on Wed or Thur but then work again Fri and we are SUPPOSED to have a girl scout skating event Fri afternoon but once again I have not heard so not sure if it is still on or not. Also our end of the year party is supposed to happen sometime NEXT week but the gal whose house we were supposed to do it at told me at the meet this weekend that she is not available so now I am wondering WHERE or IF we are still having it! I sure hope she doesn't postpone it AGAIN cuz the girls haven't gotten ANY patches all year and Shelby hasn't gotten her new vest and the new year is going to start again in Sept!!! SOOO frustrating.

We also have our swim party next week as well where the kids get their trophies and such so as I said these next few weeks are going to be pretty crazy. I will be glad when August is here! Course then soccer starts but that is NOTHING compared to swim. Practice is only two days a week and now that shane is the head coach we have more control. If it is too hot or raining we don't have to wonder about whether or not there will be practice since HE will make the ultimate call now!

So that's my crazy schedule. Hope everyone is good. Take care and talk later.

E and I worked on his stack of forms from SS, why can't they write it in plain simple terms? Had to carefully read each line, think a minute, and go "okay they want ...." urgh!

They ask "what is your typical day?", you want to write exactly what you can and can't do related to your disability. The more written the better, but we had to plan it out and think
what things do I help with because I don't mind sharing that chore? .. vs.. what things do I do because it is difficult for E?

How much is his own personality vs a symptom of his depression?

(For example, lately he will forget to eat all day, but if he sees me making something he will prepare a snack and eat or ask for something. Personality quirk? or depression?)

The "OMG how can they expect me to remember all that" kicker that caused us to call up his dialysis social worker and put her to work, they want a list with dates and names of every doctor, hospital, clinic visit in the past 12 months. Blood tests, Xrays, MRI, CT scans....

This was an odd year with all of his fistula (access) issues, he was in and out of hospitals and clinics over several months. And not the same hospital either, they sent him to three different hospitals. ::faint::

Of course, they want all this info to the office in 15 days.
Sure, we can do that, no problem. :rolleyes1 Just watch me tear my hair out in the process. :lmao:

Morning and happy Tuesday!

Hi Sara M and Rochelle!!

Hi Sara (Funball) I envy you getting to go to the anniversary. We were there ONE year during the anniversary and they hardly did a thing. In fact if they DID do anything it was so low key we didn't even see anything. Since we were there last month I did buy a few pins but that was about it. I hope you have fun!! I LOVE that bag and wish I could afford one!!

B I sure don't envy you all that paperwork! I HATE filling out paperwork!! Good luck with all that!!

I went in to work yesterday and did the payroll tax and nothing automatically popped up for the quarterlies but underneath I DID notice a section that talked about tax forms so I clicked on it and it kind of took me threw to where I needed to go but it def didn't make it easy. I kind of had to know what I was doing and that didn't make me feel very easy! But I think I got it figured out and printed out the two forms I am pretty sure are due at the end of the month. It doesn't appear anything is due and that they just needed to be signed and mailed so "hopefully" I did it right. Our cpa is "supposed" to come back in at the end of the month so I am hoping he DOES and he can go over everything with me to make sure it is right!!!

Anyway then I came home early because there wasn't that much to do and the girls get REALLY bored and mom was stressing over one of her deals and it is just better to leave in that scenario. We usually wait and have lunch together but she gets stressed when the girls are wandering around and doesn't want them bugging the agents or the secretary and I can usually find things to do to occupy my time but they get bored and plus when she is in a bad mood it is best to just leave!! So we came home and I had also got a call that shane got laid off for the day AGAIN! SOOO frustrating!

I am still really apprehensive about shane going into business for himself but SOOO sick of his current job! It is such a mixed bag of feelings! On one hand his current job REALLY sucks cuz he has gotten so many pay cuts and constantly gets laid off for a few days up to a few weeks at a time and we can just NEVER get caught up!! But on the other hand at LEAST it is a job. He doesn't have to drive his personal vehicle and as pathetic as it is we still get SOME vacation pay that unfortunately we have to use to pay OTHER bills. It used to add up to almost 4000 a year and we used it to pay our car ins, registrations, christmas and for the girls swim and soccer registrations and other misc. But now that has been cut in about half but obviously we never use it for what is intended which is vacation. IF he takes time off he just doesn't get paid and we either just deal or try to save it somewhere else but usually that doesn't happen cuz his reg salary is so puny!!

He keeps saying be running this electrical business he is going to make all this money but I have watched my parents suffer big time running their own business for the last 30 years and they have been operating in the red for about the last 5 with maxed out credit cards etc. I don't like to live like that. My mom still goes on trips etc and just thinks there is nothing wrong with charging it but I don't like to be that way. We already had a bankruptcy when we first got married and I refuse to get into debt again. If we don't have the money we don't do it.

My car is paid off and Shane's truck is close and we have VERY little debt. Our credit cards are paid off every year and then we usually put some back on them throughout the year but always pay them back off again at tax time. I just can't be that way and I HATE living like that!

Anyway I don't know I just hope things DO work out like he says and he can finally quit and things can finally look up but with this economy and this stupid state I am not so sure.

Anyway then the AC guy FINALLY came around noon and we found out that my dad had blocked one of the return vents to our upstairs AC and that is probably why the thing kept going out. This is the third summer in a row that we have blown a starter. So they unclogged that and would you believe last night my DOWNSTAIRS unit quit. That one has ALWAYS worked great and I have never had a problem. I don't know if somehow opening up that vent did something or it was just a coincidence but I could NOT believe it. So now today I have the stupid dishwasher guy coming and now my dad is going to have to call the AC guy BACK out!! UGH!

I hope it is just something small like the starter again and not something big!

Oh and when shane came home he was mowing the lawn and our mower is trying to die. He fiddled with it for a long time and got it working enough to get it mowed but I was like what else???? It seems like EVERYTHING is trying to die on us and it is ALWAYS when you have NO money! UGH!

Anyway I am going to take the girls to morning practice and dad is going to wait for the dishwasher guy although I seriously doubt he will come first thing and then once we get home IF he comes on the early side the girls and I are going to run to the bank because they got all their money out of their piggy banks this weekend and they want to put it in their bank accounts. They have had accts since they were babies of birthday and christmas and tooth fairy money and we make a deposit about once a year but haven't done it in a LONG time cuz they are at the age now where when they get money they want to keep it and not save it. But they have about 20 something bucks each so I told them we should put it in the bank!

SOOO if we have time we will do that.

Oh and I found out too that Shane has yet ANOTHER soccer meeting this time during our party!! SOOOO sucks. So now he not only is going to miss meet of champs he is going to miss their party where they get their trophies! BOOOO!

Anyway have a great day everyone and talk soon!

Yeah the bags look fun, i probally could afforde a pouchette! but that is like it! even the tiny litte purses are $60!! Either way they are giving away a free gift with purchase so that should be fun!! i am really excited about the birthday ,this will be my first year!!

Morning and happy wednesday!

Well all of our repairman are finally done thank goodness and luckily nothing was too drastic or expensive (majorly knocking on wood here!!!) The 2nd AC had a bug in it if you can believe that. I couldn't believe that something that dumb could make it quit especially since the top of both units are basically open and ANYTHING can fall into them and if it is THAT easy for them to quit it seems they would be quitting all the time but apparently a bug got in between the contacts and it couldn't start or some such thing. So it was an easy fix thank goodness and he didn't even charge for it since it was such a dumb thing and since he was JUST there the day before. I think he felt bad for not having inspected the other one.

Anyway and the dishwasher was REALLY a dumb thing. Apparently with this huge recall all they had to do was replace a few small clips that hold the heating element in place and the ones I had were fine but they have to replace them to "say they did it" and he put this little sticker on my machine to indicate that it has been done. PROBABLY my machine would have been fine but after the MAJOR coincidence of the people on our swim team losing their home to a fire that started BECAUSE of a dishwasher I am extra paranoid now. Ours is fairly new luckily but still!! I think their fatal mistake was running it when they weren't home and I NEVER run any appliances when I am not home but it still scares me. Like a spontaneous fire or what have you. When my stepdaughter lived here she had stolen a hot hair iron and had hidden it in her room and had left the damn thing ON during the day on a piece of plastic. Thank GOD I am home most of the day and I smelled it. It was JUST starting to catch fire. I was livid and this was just ONE of the many things that she did. I won't go into it but I was a nervous wreck when she lived here!!

Our house is over 100 years old and it would go up like a roman candle so it wouldn't take much to set it off!!!

They were shooting bottle rockets, which are illegal by the way, on the 4th and when Shane was mowing he found a few in our yard!!! Man I wish they would be more dilligent about fireworks or just outlaw ALL of them so that way ESP when they are using the ones that are ALREADY illegal then the cops could catch these jerks and not have to wonder.

Anyway then yesterday I went over to swim and it was all locked up. Apparently they have quit doing the morning swim practice and I don't know if they didn't tell anyone or if they did and Shane just "didn't hear it". I don't always go to the night practices and they prob said something and he just missed it. It also doesn't mention about the Friday practices although this Friday is our last official one anyway.

Then I came home and while I was waiting for the repair people Shane came home at noon. He only got 4 hours yesterday and he is off again today and not sure about the rest of the week. I am really stressing now cuz we had a short check last week cuz of the 4th and now this week it is going to be non-existent and now today starts his pay period for NEXT week which means no matter WHAT he will be missing Wed. SOOO frustrating. And as I had mentioned on FB they never seem to lay him off long enough that we can file for unemployment. If they laid him off for the entire week we could file but they always have him work JUST enough that we can't and it REALLY screws us because a week of UE is like 500 bucks but when he only works 1 or 2 days he only gets like 2 or 3 hundred. SOOOO lame!!!!!

I HATE this shop soooo much and wish he could leave! ARG!

Anyway this has put a major damper on our plans. I don't know now if we are still going to go to the fair and we prob DEF aren't going to be able to take another little getaway with the girls before school starts now. Oh well. I was really hoping to get away for one more short jaunt but such is life.

Anyway today I am just farting around here with chores and then finally taking the girls to the bank to deposit their piggy bank money.

Hope everyone has a GREAT day and has something fun lined up for the weekend.

I know Sara does ;) Jealous!!!

Humid funkness with a hot wind.. yuck!
It threatened to thunderstorm this morning, instead it was a light pitter patter and then POOF no more. I wish it would rain already, after a good soak it cools off, lower humidity and no threats of tornado. (And less aches in my joints too.. bah!)

My boys have discovered the delight of watching Beavis and Butthead (via Netflix) . :thumbsup2 Hubby and I watched it in those early years when MTV actually played videos.
Completely mindless silly stupidity, just what I need today.

Kelly, bummer on less hours of work for your dh.. that sucks!
I can understand being apprehensive about starting a new business. The economy may be recovering but it's unpredictable and still has far to go. I know some people start a business slowly, working a few contracts and still keeping their regular job. Considering how often his job cuts hours.. that may work well for you? Or at the very least will pull in a few more $$ ??
Good luck!

The Dooney and Brouke bags are precious cool looking and OMGosh! expensive! Then again the last purse I bought was a tiny one in the juniors section at Target, on clearance. I think it was $8. :lmao:

I was with the boys wandering at Macy's one day and pointed out the expensive handbags.. asked them how much do you think it costs? When I told them it was more than our rent their jaws hit the floor. :rotfl2:

I can always hope some bargain designer will like the style and make a knock off that looks as cute.. Walmart here I come!
:thumbsup2

I was also hoping someone would make a knock-off but them my mom bought me one. :lovestruc I would still like a bigger one but there's no way I can justify spending so much money on a purse.

Hello,

Kelly-I'm sorry about your DH's work situation. I don't blame you for being frustrated. I hope that things work out for you once he starts his own company and that everything goes smoothly.

Bernice- The weather here is starting to hit the 90's and I don't like it at all. :headache: I can't stand summer heat and just want fall and winter to get here already!! I wonder if Dizzy saved some snow for us!

I went to Old Navy yesterday and they had some flip flops on sale for $1.48/EA. They were women's if you wanted to check that out :) I got a cute black short sleeve top for $5 and they also had different pattern flip flops 2 for $5 so I bought some. Just wanted to share since they have good bargains. I think they have really upped the style for their clothes. It looks better and is comfy. :)

I used to watch Beavis & Butthead in high school. My guy friends and I would crack jokes from the show during lunch time and just laugh. I think I was the only girl in our group that liked it. We used to try to do the voices and say: "I am Cornholio!!" :sad2: :rotfl:

I remember I had a book that had a remote control with buttons on it that played different sounds and phrases too. :rotfl: I watch King of the Hill sometimes and I remember he was their neighbor that they used to torment. lol.

Sarah (Moto)- I think the purse you got from your mom is so cute. :) I love that pattern/print along with the blue Mickey face one. I was sad to have had to return it but the shoulder straps weren't adjustable and it kept falling down and were too tall in height for me. :( I agree though, the cost is expensive. :( I remember when I wanted the Mickey one, I asked my parents to look for it for me when they went overseas on a business trip. :rotfl: I know the odds of that are slim but it was worth a shot, right? :rotfl:

It's 102 at my work right now. But I like the warmth.
