shoot I gotta drop Morgan off at dance and run to the store for food for camping. I'll catch up with you later!

I think I've said before that CSR is BEAUTIFUL but it looks like a pretty version of Phoenix and we want something different than we are used to. AKL rates sound GREAT. I'll have to think about that. I'm really hoping for the WL. We would do that at the end of our trip. We will be there 13 days and not every single day will be GO GO GO Commando style. IN the beginning I totally see us not at the resort much but at the end if we have a nice pool and recreation activities it might be nice to have some leisurely downtime.

That's so funny, because I have absolutely no desire to be at the Wilderness Lodge...well because it sort of looks like my front yard! :rotfl: I kind of thought the same thing about the GC at DL. Sorry but evergreen trees are what I stare at every day out the window.:rotfl2: It does look a little different, we don't have a lot of pine trees here, but basically the same.

Leisurely downtime?? I'm sorry I've never really heard of that on a WDW vacation.:confused3

You know I've never seen AKL as it was being built when we moved back to Phoenix. That might be interesting.

A friend of mine works for Southwest, the airline we are flying, and checked and said the nonstop flights are almost sold out during the time we are going. They only have 1 per day, we ended up on a connecting so we could get in earlier, but that one is pretty full too. It is fall break here during that time and I'm telling you the average Phoenician would fly towards rain if it was a possibility! :lmao: :lmao:

I would so love to stay there and watch the animals in the morning with a cup of coffee. Not all the rooms view the animals, but I understand that each floor has an open viewing area, so grab your coffee and great way to start the day. Also, if you stay at the AKL they have an early morning safari thing you can pay extra for and go on a jeep ride through the animals before the park opens. I've heard it's well worth getting up before dawn and is only available to AKL guests.:thumbsup2

Have fun! I need to get back to work also.

Okay I'm back. I had such a great time! I will walk you through since I know you all care so much ;)

So first I got an exfoliation. I asked the girl a million questions, I wanted to make sure it was okay I did this topless.
Anyways, she tells me to take off my clothes except for my pants (I forgot they call panties/underwear pants here, and pants are called trousers). So I was thinking, how the hell is she going to exfoliate my legs if my pants are on. So I said "I leave my pants on?" She said "Yeah, just take your top and trousers off" OOOOOH, right. My trousers :lmao:

The exfoliation felt awesome! I was in heaven. Then I put on a robe, went upstairs to the tanning room. Inside was a booth thing. The lady gave me these little sticky pad things for my feet to stand on so the bottoms of my feet don't get the tan stuff on them. Then I stood in the booth and took off my robe! ACK! I was topless in front of a stranger, I think it was a first for me. Now I can do Mardi Gras.
It was only uncomfortable at first, until she started doing the tan and I completely forgot I was topless. It felt so nice. But she started with my face and I didn't know I could breathe so I held my breath. But then I needed air so I took a HUGE breath in just as she was going over my nose so I inhaled the tanner stuff :rotfl2: But I think it's okay, the inside of my nose will have a nice tan.

Then after it was done I stood in the booth until I felt dry, put on the robe, went back to my room to get dressed. Paid, ran home, took my clothes back off to let it finish drying. So far it looks great, it's going to get darker over the next 8 hours, I can't wait! It's so fun, and assuming how my tan goes over the next couple days I'll probably do it again!

Hello!

That sounds really cool, so umm no need to slug back a pint huh?:thumbsup2

Yep inner nose tans are all the rage here, didn't you know? You will be styling with the best of the best. ;)

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: See and the Wilderness Lodge is the EXACT OPPOSITE of what I see out my window! That is why I love it there. But the CSR is exactly like all the yards around my house! I DO NOT WANT to see that on my vacation outside of the desert! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: Thank goodness for variety there.

And downtime is planned especailly if we have a neat pool to hang out at. With 13 days there I just have to or else we would pass out. There is no way my son can do his first big trip without the stroller:scared1: walking nonstop for 13 days. This is the main reason we are staying so long so we can take it easy a little. Although I'm positive our first few days will be all out commando. :rotfl:

Sounds wonderful! Let me know if this is better than the over the counter tanners that are out there. I look ridiculous with a dark tan because of my strawberry blonde hair and freckles but a little tan would be nice. How long is it supposed to last?

It is SOOO easy. Here is my recipe. I got the recipe from the hillbilly housewife website. YUM!! I made a double batch tonight, and It only took about 20 minutes. I WISH I had a tortilla press.. It would be done in half the time. I cook mine a the griddle. Easy peasy.:thumbsup2

ooooooooooooo cool, I tried to make tortillas before.. but without the baking powder, bet that's why even when thinly rolled out they were still thick and not very good. :guilty:

I've made corn tortiilas (using masa harina mix) with a press, they turn out okay to use for enchiladas (since they get smothered in sauce and cooked again). The boys don't like corn tortillas though, bummer because they taste yummy when piping hot.

We have a brand of flour tortillas that are cheap at my local grocery store, we love them! But this last time we bought a package, we noticed they have shrunk in size. Guess the rising costs of flour forced them to shrink product instead of raising prices. :headache:

Hey Shawna, is your hubby still living forkfree and in ummm comfort?

:rotfl2:

My hubby is the same way.. just plan it out dear.. I know it will be fine.. and then he asks me but what about?? grrrrr.

I told you that already!!! you know, when you weren't listening!!

He is alive only because he is at work earning money. That's it. I told him he better engage me in some conversation about all of this while we are camping or else I'll bring on Staley to poke him in the eye. He thinks we are insane.

Seriously, I am so annoyed because I know him. He will have so many opinions once we are there. Now we can obviously be flexible because I'm not crazy scheduling so we can change to what he wants but a little input on a vacation that is costing thousands and thousands of dollars might be nice.

Good morning, hyenas!
Sunny and 65 right now, quite pleasant. :)

DH started work at 4:30 in the morning, with phone calls about some outtage at work. I was hoping he'd be able to knock off early today because of it (he's a little worn out after his first day back yesterday plus coaching the ball game last night) but doesn't look likely.

I was hoping we'd do something fun with the kids this evening, but I think he'll be too tired. So my neighborhood friend and I are likely taking the kids out for ice cream and let them play a bit together. It's always nice to wear their little butts out before bedtime! :thumbsup2

I totally agree!

Hubby was the same way when I planned out our move-- yes really! He had no opinion on moving compnay.. I'm like fine, let's do X (knowing he would not like it) and he finally pipes out no , let's do Y

Finally!

See if I make his life difficult, then he will be forced to have an opinion. :rolleyes1

DH had previously said he really really wanted to stay at the GCH in December. So when I was trying to book the Dec. stay with the AP7 rate, which was booking up fast, the conversation went something like this:

Me: Honey, the AP rates are out, they're pretty good, and I need to know for sure how long you want to stay, and how much you're willing to pay for a room.
DH: Just book whatever.

Me  : Well, you said before you really really wanted to stay at the GCH, so at what price are you NOT wanting to stay there?
DH: Well, I don't know... How much is the rate?

Me: I don't know. The DLH rate is $159, and I know the GCH is much more expensive, but I don't know what the regular room rate is, and I don't know what the AP7 rate is for GCH. How much is too much?
DH: Well, just do what you want to do.

Me :headache: : OK... so how long do you want to stay there? I'm guessing no more than 5 work days and 5 school days for DS7...
DH: Well, no, he'd be OK to miss 6 days, like we've done before. I don't have a problem with that.

Me: OK, so I'll shoot for 6 weekdays.
DH: Let's do what we did before, fly in Friday, fly back Saturday. That worked out well.
Me: OK, that's fine.

Me, dialing: Wait! Don't leave!
DH: Why not?
Me: Because I still don't know what price you're willing to pay for GCH.
DH: It doesn't matter. Just do what you think is best. [He leaves.]
Me  : Grrrrrrrr... Hi, I'd like to book a room with the AP7 rate...

Since I could only get 5 consecutive days at the AP7 rate and the rest would be considerably higher, I knew he would not be keen on the GCH at full price, so went ahead and booked at the DLH.

So how much do you want to bet on the trip he'll remark several times about how much he really really wants to stay at the GCH??? :sad2:

Seriously now, wouldn't Jake look ADORABLE in this costume?

I'm really working hard on this theme but it all is based on him. :lmao: If he doesnt go along with it we just look like idiots without the main character. Dh would be Gepetto, Either Morgan or I would be the Blue Fairy and the other would be a wooden doll too.

I have to say, it is a little comforting to know this is a universal man thing rather than just a really annoying thing my DH does. :rotfl:
