Still, if you are unexperienced, it can be very dangerous. I dont mind motorcycles at all. Heck, my dad had one when I was little, and we have talked extensively about dh getting one. When my dad was first learning he was on a friends bike, and laid it down turning a corner. Can you say shredded cheese? It wasnt pretty.

Plus, if he gets pulled over or something? I cant imagine that would be a good thing.

I know it's pretty calm at night and there are no cars. If he rides around the block it's fine. He's done it a few times and hasn't fallen. He rides really slow and the model he has is basic. I don't know...I just don't want to start an argument. We are both stubborn. :rolleyes1

He knows how I feel though so we'll see when he gets home I guess.

Yeah, I'm not afraid of motorcycles, either, though I have seen a couple people with road rash. They crashed and slid along the street, and were wearing cutoffs and she had a bikini top on. It was pretty gross.

My dad taught me to ride when I was about 8yo (though it didn't exactly go well, thanks to my brothers telling me the accelerator was the brake.) :scared1:

Okay gals.. Im tired, sunburnt and crabby.. So I am going t hit the hay. Night!

Ouch!! A bikini top?? Geeze. He has a thick leather jacket he bought (Alpine Stars brand) and he has gloves and a helmet he wears. He wears all his gear when he goes out.

I have never ridden on one and would probably be too chicken. :faint:

Good Morning and Hello!

Busy Busy Busy at the Garcia house :upsidedow

Unpacked the very last few boxes (aren't you proud of me Alison?)

found an empty storage locker in apt basement (thank goodness someone moved out and left an empty.. I think our creepy apt manager is using one for cleaning supplies, why I don't know considering he has the boiler room key??) for all of our camping equipment..

Making room for the delivery of dialysis supplies :faint:

At least it was enough motivation to set up the rest of the apt, no more books piled behind the couch.

Last training day (not much training, we have been left on our own for the most part) today, get our machine this afternoon. :woohoo:

Over the weekend we went to my MIL's .. we had planned to stay two nights, bailed after just one. Not a comfy night's sleep and MIL was getting on both of our nerves.

She harped on hubby's smoking-- so we harped back on her high blood pressure
She was generaly grumbley and saying how she needs to work all the time.. because "what else can I do, I don't have anyone at home to take care of" ummmm take time for yourself and enjoy life??

We tossed out a comment about "you have two grandchildren to visit" , she tossed back "I am a grandmother in name only" -- okay so I got pissed at that  and gave a crack back "and whose fault is that?".

She didn't say anything back... :headache:

Anyway, as hubby said as we left.. she was "fatalistic about everything" , personally I think she is depressed that she is losing her house, losing a job (compnay is being shipped off to Mexico), and life as she knows it for the last 23 years is going to make a HUGE change.

She has known that this day was coming for over a year now, but she has a tendency to stick her head in the sand.. ignoring the future.

Oh yes.. and she keeps telling E that she will donate her kidney "I don't care what the doctors say. I'm doing it"

ummmm he doesn't want your kidney and no doctor who wants to continue practice medicine will let you-- so shut up and accept your son's decision to forgo a transplant for the time being ! :headache: :headache:

(High blood pressure, undiagnosed neuro problem causing black outs/fainting, history of blood clot in lung, removed part of lung-- she can NOT be a donor)

THEN to make life interesting... SIL offered up her kidney to hubby, but she was nice about it. Very sincere and said the offer was out there when he was ready. awwwwwwwww she's so sweet! :goodvibes

soooooooooo Maybe next summer :upsidedow It take a good three months to recover from surgery and adjust to meds.

umm and BIL is living off of student loans. He has SEVERAL and is at risk of getting his car repoed, yes he took a loan against his car-- DORK. He offered to pay for us to watch the Batman movie at an IMAX theatre-- told him he was NUTS (it was be $15-$20 a person) . He smiled and said "that's what loans are for"

Crazy crazy people I tell ya!!

I read back over the weekend.. sniffle sniffle the whole situation that Alison's sister is going thru is heartbreaking. Sending wishes your way that it all turns out and Tyler can be happily home with his mom soon.

Glad to hear Alex's hubby surgery went great.. I love that you read his post op instructions and will "enforce" them with LOVE :lmao: What would men do without a wife (or other partnership) to keep them from harm? ;)

Hopefully Pixie's BF is safe and didn't try to adventure out on his motorcycle quite yet.

There are a few more things I can catch up and say for eachof ya.. however.. hubby is nearing the end of his run and he needs a bit of help to do rinse and pull needles.. byeeeeee.

Good morning, hyenas!
Cold and overcast here. Hang on, I'll check the temp... Ahhh, no wonder I'm so dang cold! It's 56 with a breeze ~ Brrrr!

It is supposed to warm up to 69 today, then head back up into the warmer temps for the rest of the week. Thank goodness! I was worried our 3 weeks of nice weather was coming to an end! :scared1:

DH is behaving, still sleeping in and getting up only to use the bathroom or take some meds/water. :thumbsup2

Of course, the day is still young... ;)

Boys are trying to keep it down to a dull roar while Daddy sleeps, with limited success. I asked them if they were hungry and wanted breakfast yet (hoping it would keep their little mouths busy for a bit) but they said no. :headache:

But I think I'll go ask again, it's been awhile.

Other than sitting on DH today, no real plans to speak of. We could go to the library and pick up a 'halfway mark' prize for DS7's reading program; could go to Walmart (I need a few white t-shirts to go with the tie-dye kits I bought)... :confused3

The boys found a Guitar Hero II (game and guitar) for Xbox 360 marked for $50 at Toys R Us, looked at Game Stop and found that $50 was a good deal.. ran back to Toyr R Us to snap that babay up! Imagine our gleeful delight when it scanned up cheaper and WITH tax was $42

:woohoo:

Hubby got tired of hearing the music and had J hook up the guitar controller to ear phones.. now I hear thump thump thwack as he hits the keys.
Like a really old keyboard that sticks

Hubby went off to nap, I'm quite okay to listen to the music with the thumps and thwacks... as long as it is at a low roar of volume

Hi guys! I'm sitting here in the urgent care with a very sore throat. No fun! And to top it off I had to use my lunch break to come over here because I don't want to stay late after work.

Anyways, I hope you are all doing well. DBF and I are going back to Lake Havasu for Labor Day weekend. After oir last trip we talked about moving there I love it there, heat and all. But I don't know if there's work there.

Hi Sarah, I'm sorry you aren't feeling well. I hope you feel better soon. :grouphug: Wow, that's awesome that you are considering moving to Lake Havasu. If you and your bf really love it there, then it sounds like a great plan :goodvibes:

Miley Cyrus, 15, reportedly set to bare all in new movie

The 'Hannah Montana' star - who caused controversy when she posed 'topless' for the cover of Vanity Fair magazine earlier this year - is said to be keen to be cast as the lead character in 'Undiscovered Gyrl', which is based on Allison Burnett's new novel.

According to website MSNBC, the movie will almost definitely include nude scenes.

A source said: "It is still early days, but Miley is really interested in the film, which follows the story of a lovable, lost suburban girl who descends into a life of reckless partying and promiscuity. If she does get the part, you will be seeing a lot more of her than you did in the Vanity Fair photos - there would definitely be nude scenes."

Meanwhile, Miley has revealed talented Disney actresses Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato have no chance of being "the next Miley" because there is only one.

She said: "People are looking up to what I do. But, I don't think there could be a next Miley. I think they should be the next Selena, Demi. Make their own way."

The actress - the daughter of country singer Billy Ray Cyrus - also said she wanted her new album 'Breakout' to feature a more adult sound.

She added to US TV show 'Extra': "I wanted to embrace my older audience a little more, kind of taking shackles off and doing the music I wanted to do. There are the things I want to say to the world. I just want this to be a CD that you can let loose to and dance to and kind of forget all the crazy stuff!"

Good Afternoon Hyenas,

This morning I did a run to Starbucks for my caramel frappuccino fix. It's a bit crazy at work but not too crazy. I am so not staying late today. I really don't want to. :sad2:

I hope you guys are all having a great day. I can't wait until Friday when I have the day off.

Oh mylanta!! :faint:

I read an article that said that Miley's e-mail was hacked and they posted pics she had taken of herself. One of them was herself in the shower wearing a t-shirt. I don't know about the others.

I think she's talented but she's in a rush to become an adult. Maybe part of her wants to break out of the innocent "hannah montana" persona and maybe she thinks that the world will see her as an "adult?"
