We are back from the ever so hot and humid Florida...we had a really good time and were going to stay longer....but...the humid weather got the best of us so we are off to Tennessee....

My sisters baby was a cutie pie with the characters...we were afraid she would be scared of them but she loved them....kept kissing them and would cry when they walked away...At one meal Mickey was all over her and making little heart signs and pointing to her...it was priceless

Just a quickie before I head to the kitchen to get dinner started. (Yeah, I know it's late. We went to Black Bustard for movies, then hit the ice cream shop nearby, yum! So we're just now getting hungry for food...) :)

Gina, glad you had a wonderful trip!
G, glad your training is complete! :thumbsup2
Sarah, sorry to hear you're not feeling well.
Christina, sorry to hear about your leg! :rotfl:

Ohhhh no! Why??? I hope, whatever the cause, that it passes soon.

So what's the dealio? I'm not around so everyone goes into hiding?? Or have you all taken my current crisis as an opportunity to escape & hide from me?:confused3

Well, is everyone ready for the most recent update...it's getting crazier by the minute. I'm just so beyond tired, but I'm trying to hang in there and get my sister through all of this. The good news is I will have a nice quiet weekend all by myself and hopefully can get a bit of sleep and relax.

Hi Alex! It's just getting totally crazy. So I will give you an update of what happened each day.

I can't remember, did I give you a update of our visit with him on Sunday?

Yes. He was a little wigged out by the loud noises at the races, but calmed down after a bit. He had fun with his cousins. He was asking about PM for awhile, but once he was relaxed and having fun didn't mention her again until you were driving him back and he recognized the neighborhood. You asked him if she'd said bad things about mom, and he said yes, and he was worried about being taken away never to return.

So Monday morning I get online to check the court docket to see if they have scheduled a hearing yet to try and get the thing thrown out. There we are listed on the last page, starting at 3:30.

This is the hearing to see if we can get a judge to throw the whole thing out. Attorney says it's a long shot, but we will give it a try.

Anyway, my sister calls the attorney. His paralegal is on vacation this week..OH GREAT!! Secretary is trying to help, but not very knowledgeable. Attorney is out of office at another hearing, but she calls and leaves message on his cell phone. The court didn't even tell him that they scheduled the meeting, so he finds out at 11:30! Anyway, he cancels his afternoon appt's and has my sister re-fax and copy tons of things. He has no idea what we might need, so bring all we can. We meet him 30 minutes before the hearing in the coffee shop at courthouse.

Yikes! That is straight out of a nightmare! :scared1: :scared1:

How can they NOT TELL HIM of a court date??? :headache:

So hello to everyone. Please help me.

I'm sitting here with the aroma of brownies all around me. I made them for the kids tonight (against my better judgement) and now i'm trying hard to resist them. I'm doing pretty good, pretending my ice water is a brownie. I should just go to bed but I'm in the middle of reading a really funny TR from WDW so I dont want to go to bed yet.

I've been eating great this past week and am on a roll with the weight loss thing again. Hopefully I will resist!

Me, my sister and my SIL attend. He wants us to go, just in case the judge wants witnesses. Besides, looks better if she has a couple of family members with her.

Boy, juvenile court is sure different. Judge walks out, tells us to remain seated and says I would like to see legal counsel in my chambers for a few moments to privately discuss this matter, unless there are any objections. Nope, no objections!!

So judge and 2 attorneys leave for 45 minutes! Proctor mom sits with her back to us the entire time, it was so obviously a snub, even the judge gave her "a look". Judge then launches into a 30 minute snooze fest, basically saying that he is not going to reverse the emergency custody order. He has listened to my sister's attorney and has no doubt that my mother is fit and capable of caring for Tyler. However what he is concerned with is:

#1. They have a doctor note stating that Tyler could suffer from damage or have a set back if he is removed from his current setting. Judge just kept focusing on this letter.

#2. When Tyler was placed into care, there must have been a problem with the natural parent's home. Because he was placed into proctor care by CFS (Children's & Family Services).

So what he wants to see is the plan my sister has in place and more doctor evaluations saying it would be ok for Tyler to be moved. My sister is getting all of that documentation together and meeting with doctors.

As far as the CFS placement, that is not a problem. When Tyler was originally placed CFS handled abuse, neglect and disabled children placement. A year after Tyler was placed they turned the disabled children over to the Dept. of Disabilities. We have documentation showing that change over. The judge did not realize that, he just knew the CFS handles abuse/neglect cases now. So that one will be easy to prove.

Basically he said that Tyler is not in any danger with the Proctor parents, so they can continue to have the temporary custody until the hearing on August 15th.

My sister is allowed to have reasonable visitation between now and then. If they can't work something out, then the judge wants the attorneys to work it out and present to them.

Plus he is making the proctor parents pay for the airfare for my sister to travel back & forth between Florida and Oregon during the next couple of weeks.
