Oh... bring LOTS of sunscreen, and LOTS of frozen water bottles. I had forgotten how hot it gets sitting out on the tarmac all day! We reapplied sunblock 4 times today, and me and the old man still got a little burned! The kids were fine, I tend to go over board on them.. Especially Mikalah with her lily white skin!:lmao:

We went through about 12 bottles of water.. At least. Then Mikalah and I watched the Thunderbirds from the first aid tent. They had shade, and chairs, and ice water.. It was LOVELY!:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Do they not sell food/water there? I can't imagine lugging 12 bottles of ice around! Especially with no stroller to put it in!

So DH went to bed at 10. Tomorrow his knee is getting repaired. Hopefully everything will go well.

That would be cool, it sounds like it was really awesome! I wish we'd gone! :thumbsup2

It WAS!! I went to the Paris air show when I was younger, and it is one of the biggest in the world.. All I remember is that it was HOT, and CROWDED. This was much better! Still hot, and crowded, but SO much more room to spread out. We brought blankets to sit on.. It was lovely.

ANYWAYS!:lmao: :lmao: Frelan took the night off... We didnt get home until almost 5, and he was all tired and sunburnt, so he opted to stay home. I think we might hit the library tomorrow. We havnet had time to go for the past couple of weeks. I need new books darn it!:lmao:

You can bring a stroller with you. It is on the very small list of what is allowed. They sold water and food. It was $2. for a tiny bottle of water, and the food was outrageous!! We spent $46. on 2 burgers, a mini pizza, a rib sandwich and a hot dog.. Oh, and a frozen lemonade. It was EXPENSIVE!!

Oh yeah! Is it an in and out thing, or is he staying at the hospital?

Cool. I love the library! I took DS there a few weeks ago to return some books (he had read only 1 or 2 of the 4 or 5) and of course he wanted to check out some more before we left! :lmao:

So I poked around to see if I could find a newer DL guide book or maybe an autobiography for someone interesting, or these new vampire stories that are all the rage right now. Nada. (That stuff tends to be something you have to request online, and then when it's available they'll ship it to your local branch.)

So I ordered the first two vampire books online and am waiting for them to come in. There's a 3rd book that I think just came out in paperwork, and the 4th and final book is due to be released Aug. 1, I think.

Dark Hunter?

The admission was FREE??? Is that typical? :confused3

Generally. Everything is free.. Except the food. :lmao: Face painting, kiddie zone. They had stuff you could buy, of course.. But we didnt. If you packed in your own food and such, its a free day!

Is it called the Twilight series? I think Spongie's into it; so is Lynn. About a teenage vampire boy named Edward, and a human girl who becomes very close to him. Everybody is RAVING about how well written the stories are, so I went ahead and bought them without knowing much about them. Lynn compares them to Anne Rice's vampire chronicles, and I did enjoy those years ago.

I thought that was a teen series? My sister is obsessed with this series called Dark Hunter. I dont know. I spend to much time alone at night to read vampire books anymore. :lmao:

Wow. I was thinking there must be some sort of admission fee. Cool!

You know, it would be just my luck to buy, sight unseen, the wrong books! :rotfl2:

But yes, the teenage series. The author is Stephenie Meyers, and I think a movie or TV show is being made from the first book? I think they were intended for teenagers, but (like the Harry Potter books) adults love them, too. In fact, their popularity is compared to the fervor over the HP books. And lots of book stores are doing a special event for the release of the 4th book at midnight on Aug. 1.

I thought the same, I hadn't heard anything about them. But then I remembered a reference to a book release party at midnight (I think it was for Barnes and Noble), and that Spongie had something in her siggie about it. And there's a thread in the CB called Twilight something, which I assume is about the same book series. So it's been out there, I just wasn't paying attention. :rotfl:

People say they start reading and can't put the books down until they're done. So we'll see. I'm hoping they'll arrive this week. I'll let you know... well, if I disappear from the DIS for several days, I guess that'll be your first clue. :lmao:

Well, I suppose I should scoot off to bed. DH is leaving very early (5:30, I think?) He kissed me before going to bed tonight, saying he wouldn't see me again until after the surgery since his dad is going to take him downtown. So I asked him to wake me before he leaves. He looked surprised and said, "Really?" I said yeah. I just want to give him a hug and say good luck.

Last time he had knee surgery he had chest pain coming out of it, so they kept him in the hospital overnight afterward. So I definitely want to see him before he goes. :guilty:

But it is going to be ugly-early!!! Uff!
