Good afternoon, hyenas!
Sunny and quite lovely.
So where am I? Indoors with a screamin' headache.
DH had an OK day yesterday. Got into Denver just fine, but along the way got scheduled for several phone meetings (plus had one while he was waiting to fly out of Sea-Tac.) So wasn't exactly a relaxing day like we'd hoped.
I figured he's sleep well without my snoring and a certain 4yo's feet in his back all night, but apparently he missed us, so he didn't sleep very well.
We went to the pool yesterday afternoon. DS7 swam around the big pool with a buddy of his who happened to be there, and DS4 splashed around in the kiddie pool while I read a book. It was warm but had a bit of a breeze, which was nice.
We rushed home to shower and have leftovers for dinner, then dashed out again to walk up to my friend's house. We joined her and her girls on a walk to the local McDonalds to have an ice cream cone. Both girls ate neatly, DS7 had a ring of ice cream and chocolate dip around his mouth (it is kind of adorable), and DS4... well, he WORE a lot of his. His hands were totally sticky, ice cream was dripping off his elbows onto his clothes, and the girls got a kick out of watching me try to clean him up a bit. We had to go into the bathroom to wash him up afterward.
We walked the girls home and saw that their dad had set a little sprinkler in the front yard to water the lawn. Naturally the younger girl (DS7's age) decided to do cartwheels through the sprinkler!

and the boys had to follow her. Then they started challenging each other to other tricks (all in the sprinklr, of course) and eventually wound up chasing each other and tossing a wet ball at each other. It was pretty funny, especially when we had to drip-squeak! drip-squeak! all the way home.
So ANOTHER shower and then we got ready for bed. I made the mistake of trying to stay up "for just a minute" and fell asleep until around 11:30. I went to bed and just crashed, woke well after 8:00. Whoa!
And I still feel tired, dang it! Mama needs a nap!
But alas, more laundry and dishes and other chores call...
The kids are coming to meet me for lunch, so need to get a few things done before then. I'll try to pop back on later with an update....yeah, like you guys have nothing better to do than listen to our soap opera like custody battle!
I tell ya, between your sister and Gina's redneck neighbors, this is the most excitement I've had in a long time!
Oh. Speaking of which... While I was at my friend's house trying to get them out of the sprinkler and get on the way home, the wacky neighbors walked by. I just caught her out of the corner of my eye, and when I had the boys and turned back, they were gone. I was so relieved! I did not relish the idea of trying to make conversation, especially in front of others.
