How's the head? Did you take something for it?
Nothing much. Just talked with DH about his conversation with the doc. She's ordered grape-flavored med from another pharmacy, so I guess we're going to give that a spin next. He asked if we could give it in several smaller doses instead of the two teaspoons plus whatever we were mixing it with, and she said yes. Quite frankly, I'm not sure that's going to be a help, if it tastes as bad as he says, but whatever. We'll give it a try. What's up Alex???
Really??? For some reason I thought you were younger then that.
HAPPY BDAY PIX!!!

Meanwhile, DS4 is covered in little bumps all over his body. It's really repulsive looking, sort of reptilian.![]()

Oh for god's sake!Where you at Alex, it has been a rough morning (that should chase you away). Ever since DH got back he has been CRANKY - he has just been a down right jerk. Well, I call him about an hour ago to ask him a question (about renewing is football subscription), and he sounds out of breath. I ask if they have been busy and he starts nearly crying, saying how he has been wanting to talk to me but can't (I was pretty sick last night and didn't know there was a problem). I guess his dad got him pretty upset. Told him how lucky he was to be 70 and alive, that the " " last name adults don't live past 40. So now he is freaked out that he is going to die. Tells me he can't breathe, a bit about his dad, but then hangs up (he is at work of course, but I have trouble sitting at home waiting 4 hours to talk about this)
Headache finally went away went I ate something this morning. Couldn't keep anything down yesterday - so no medicine, and then not eating usually contributes to the headacheI just couldn't win!!!

Yippeee, I am Pix's favorite hyena!!!
I know you are all jealous!!!
Glad they took you to lunch - hope you have a great bday!!! Tortilla soup sounds yummy!!! Have you guys figured out yet that we have no real restaurants![]()
When my older sister and I were little, my mom used to trick us that our medication would taste good like in Mary Poppins. I'm sorry but Robitussin did NOT taste like Rum Punch!![]()
Oh for god's sake!![]()
My dad did this same thing. His father died when he was 58 of a massive heart attack. His oldest brother died when he was 58, I think it was a heart attack, too, but he also was an alcoholic and diabetic who didn't take care of himself. My dad convinced himself that HE was going to die at 58. (Completely ignoring the fact that he had 3 other older brothers who had passed that age already.... hello!)![]()
On the plus side he started working out, running and swimming and lifting weights. But I'm sure he was terribly stressed out, which can't be good. He started to relax a bit once he turned 59, and now is... do the math... carry the one... 69 this year. He seems to be over his fear of dying at age 58 now.![]()
Ahhh, a vicious cycle. Yeah, I get really nauseous with bad headaches, too. Have you tried those Excedrin Migraine or whatever they're called? I've tried two types of headache-specific meds DH picked up, and they both work well on the kind that I get.
Then what do you have to eat out there in the boonies besides berries, shrubs and cactus? J/k!![]()
Great - so this is a common thing. Problem is DH is already super emotional and does not deal well with thoughts like this. I guess that explains why he has been so cranky, I just hope he can relax and get over it. I have had breathing problems for the last 5 years - they are called allergies. My guess it is the same with DH (I hope so anyways), but he won't regularly take his allergy meds

Yeah, that was going to be my next question, if that explained his butt-headedness of late. When did his dad say all this? Has he been stewing on it for weeks or what? GEESH, men!
DH has finally come to the realization that he is not invincible and needs to take care of his body. It's only taken 6 (soon to be 7) knee surgeries, 16 broken noses, 3 heart procedures and lord knows what else to come to this realization.![]()
Now if I could only convince him that his job is not the center of the universe...
Yeah, we have mostly fast food places nearby. There's a nice little neighborhood Italian (pizza/pasta sort of food) close by, and an Olive Garden a little further away.I have, and they work pretty good for me when I can take them. The problem was I had both the headache and the nausea at the same time, so too scared to take meds. I really hate when they come back![]()
Sadly, all we have are all the major fast food chains, the 3 major pizza chains, a Denny's, a Native New Yorker, and beyond that just family owned restaurants. Some of them are pretty good, but there are days I miss chinese, Changs, Outback, Chilis, Red Lobster, Olive Garden, ooohh, I could go on and on. We do have a Samurai Sams, so that kind of gets me through the Chinese fix. At least we have good Mexican, that is my favourite. When we moved up here we tried every single mexican food restaurant (probably 8) until we found our favourite![]()

I was reading about this pricey but well-regarded restaurant, and thought perhaps DH and I might go for our next anniversary (since it's looking like Hawaii is out. Pout pout...) It's supposed to be one of the top 10 restaurants in the Seatte area. But when I looked at the menu it had some very ... interesting foods, not one of which sounded good to me!![]()

Items like rabbit liver, foie gras, tripe, sweetbreads, octopus...![]()
No kidding! Good thing I didn't mention that place to you yesterday, huh?![]()

I think I would choose McDonalds over that
Aren't you glad you checked out the menu before you sat at a table, can you imagine!!!
