Chatterbox Hyena Thread (Everyone is Welcome)

We had a nice brunch with FIL today. He was very relaxed and happy to see the kids.

He asked if it would be all right sometime to take one or both the kids for the day. I said they had classes on mondays and thursdays, but tuesdays and wednesdays would work. He likes to take scenic drives to local spots, and thought it would be fun to take the kids along. DH and I agreed that it would not be ideal for Ds4 to go (he's too antsy on a long car trip, and too damn fast on his feet when we aren't in the car), but thought DS7 might be interested. So he said he'd call when he was going to go sometime, and see if Ds7 wanted to go.

We also suggested shorter trips, like to the zoo or Pacific Science Center, and he said he'd love to take DS to Pike Place Market. I think DS would love to go there.

Sunday night and no one is here???

I'm here...sorta. Well physically I'm here, mentally I'm just in a tizzy! Not only that we are now sitting in smoke. There is a 500 acre fire near Mt. Adams (kinda between Mt. St. Helens and Mt. Hood). Not real close to us, but close enough that we can smell smoke and everything is starting to get hazy. They think it started a week ago when we had some thunderstorms, but just got discovered yesterday. The wind just picked up a few minutes ago, but I really can't tell yet what way it is blowing, hopefully it won't blow from the southeast.

Sounds like you've had quite a stressful day! I hope everything goes well (or as well as can be expected) tomorrow.

Let's add DS's birthday tomorrow on top of everything. We were going to stop and get his cake and birthday present after our meeting today. Yeah, a little hard to stop and shop when you're ditching cars following you!! I swear this is just like something out of a movie. Of course now my family is humming the Mission Impossible theme and congratulating me on my fancy evasion tactics!

DH was just floored, yep, me the lady that won't drive over the speed limit, comes to a complete stop at stop signs and won't even sample a grape in the produce section...because that's breaking the law! Out evading process servers.

well, you've just given your son one of the greatest gifts! He gets to tell all his friends about his mom driving like a maniac to evade a process server! "Yeah, my mom's so bad#$% !" He's gonna be the hotshot of the neighborhood now!

Hi guys! Wow Alison! Hang in there.. it will all be over tomorrow.

I have a feeling that it will really all be starting tomorrow. I pray that the foster mom comes to her senses. But my sister and I just have a bad feeling about it. If she doesn't turn him over I'm pretty sure they can get in some bad trouble. I want to think she won't be stupid enough to mess with the State, but I think she's backed into a corner now and see's no way out.

OK, enough about my crazy wacked out day. How was everyone else's day??

Just sitting here sweating. I have been in a horrid mood lately, and I have been trying to subject you all to it. Arent I wonderful! I actually spent the day on the computer.. Trying ever so hard not to yell at the beasties.. I had forgotten that we are going on vacation in a MONTH, and I havent even bought plane tickets yet!

Oh, and this morning hubby and I were going through the clothes my mom brought up that belonged to my dad.. His cowboy stuff.. Anyways, I am going to sell it on Ebay since it is really nice period stuff. ANYWAYS.. We are pulling stuff out of the bag, and what do I pull out?? Oh gee.. Only the FLAG from the FUNERAL. NICE MOM. I swear.. that woman is the most selfish, heartless woman EVER. and you wonder where I get it from. She didnt even think to tell me. HELLO!! At least let me be prepared.

So I called and mentioned that she should have told me about it, and she got all defensive... Saying she told Frelan. He had no idea, trust me.. he would have hidden it or something. Or, I dont know TOLD ME! You know... because he actually HAS A HEART! Anyways.. She was getting her panties all in a twist, and being all snippy with me, so I hung up on her. Have I mentioned that we dont get along very well?

Yep!! Boy I'm sure glad the kids weren't with us. I know there is no way I would have driven like that with the kids in the car. I really didn't speed or do anything crazy except for the car I pulled out in front of when we left the parking lot. But I did make a few slick moves, even impressed myself!

My mom and sister were talking about some new DVDs they'd gotten. My parents are really into the Sopranos, I guess, and bought the first 2 seasons on DVD. They've been watching them every night, and my sister says, "OMG, it's soooooo weird! They're both dropping the F-bomb all over the place now!"

My mom, who when we were growing up I think the worst thing I ever heard her say was "hell's bells!", laughed her head off. She said, "Yeah, your dad will say, '*** time are you coming to bed?' and I'll say, 'In a few F-ing minutes.' "

Of course they're doing it in their normal voices, just for fun, but still! You have to know my parents, I guess, it's sooo not them!

I said, "Ummm... I gather the Sopranos has a lot of swearing in it?"

Ohh, yaaahhhhh!" my mom says in her still-Norwegian North-Dakotan accent.

Aww!! Thanks! Im sure the fact that I am trying so hard to quit smoking is NOT helping my sunny disposition right now. I called my sister and was SCREAMING on the phone with her.. SCREAMING! She was ROLLING! But we find things funny no one else does.
