Chat with the Chief Magic Official

Keep them coming Justin! Are you going to be at the What Will You Celebrate Tour on Monday? Southside Works, no idea what time. I would love to see you there!

Have you ever thought of using Plazes, so all your "DIS groupies" here can follow your travels?

What is "Plazes"? I'm not familiar with that at all, but i'm always looking for new and effective ways to communicate!

I'm hoping to help with the What Will You Celebrate? Tour stop here in Pittsburgh on Monday. I think 100.7 FM is the radio station that will have the most coverage of the events. I also believe the Sout Side Works visit is late afternoon, around 4:00 - 6:00. I have to work my 'normal' job on Monday, so I don't know how much I'll be inolved with the tour just yet . . .

Plazes is a nice little application that basically shows where in the world you are. If you go to http://plazes.com/ it gives you some nice info and free download. Free! Lots of folk I know are using it. It's fun to see where everyone is!

I'll be looking for you at South Side. I hope you get a chance to make it! Here's a picture of DH and myself (DH's BD trip in August. From the California Grill).

I don't know if DH will be able to make it, but I will be there! Gotta get my Disney fix in! We won't be there for another 12 days!

Hey guys. . . .I am back from WDW and going through the normal routine of digging myself out from under piles of stuff at work. I head back down for an unofficial CMO trip in less than three weeks! I'll be sure to get in here and finish all of my updates for you guys before that trip!

Justin,
I've been reading all your updates and love the infectious enthusiasim you have for not only the CMO position but also your regular job as well! I hope your students know just what a gem they got!
My husband and I were hoping that one of your trips would coincide with our next vacation (happening in 7 days!) but I guess its not meant to be! :( We try to spread the magic when we are there, we think of ourselves a secret ambassadors ;) Since we don't have kids, we usually bring trinkets of Disney theme to hand out to kids we see in the park (random acts of kindness)... this year we are bringing glow sticks to bestow when we do Spectromagic. It just makes us light up when we can make a child (and parent who has already stretched the checkbook as far as it would go) light up. I thought you would like to know how we try to live the magic everyday!

Thanks for all the updates and keep doing the wonderful work you do! Maybe if something happens, our paths will cross!:goodvibes

I'm headed out the door early today to help the folks from Disney with the Pittsburgh stop in their "What Will You Celebrate?" tour! If you're in the area, check out KDKA throughout the morning. We'll then be making a visit to Market Square around 11:00. Later in the afternoon (4:00 - 6:00) the team will be appearing at the South Side Works. I don't know if I'll be able to be with them the whole day, but I'll definitely be a part of as much as possible!

Add this to the list of things I have to get here and post pictures from! :)

Please keep the updates coming when you can Justin. I love reading them. You sound so busy and you can tell how much you enjoy what your doing so much.

aaaarrrrggghhhh! :sad1:

I've been trying to leave for the Pittsburgh What Will you Celebrate street party for the past hour and a half. It's so nice to know the folks at work can't do without me, but please.....

Justin, I hope you take pictures and let us know how it goes. I think I'm not going to be able to make it at all. Please please please take pictures and share. I really wanted to be there in person, but it will be the next best thing to hear it from you!

Not sure if DH is going to make it either. He's having one of those days too. Disney, why did you schedule this for a Monday?

Hello! Just a couple of quick things for you at the moment before I return for some long overdue and very extensive updates...

For those of you on Facebook, I just recently uploaded some new photos for you to check out.

If anyone listens to the Mouse Station podcast (as a part of www.MousePlanet.com) I was interviewed for a segment posted on their site on Tuesday. If you check out their main page and scroll down a bit you can find a like to it. It's just a quick, fun update on what I've been up to.

Also, I promise new updates are on their way for the www.dreamCMO.com website. Please check back there soon and please drop me a line (by just clicking on the "Contact Justin!" link) while you're there!

. . . back again soon!

:)

Just found this and I love reading it!!! I'm so happy for you being CMO!! Yea to you! So when are you back at WDW???

Ha ha! Yeah, the whole Monday thing was a bit rough, but I guess some city had to fall on a Monday! I'm sorry you didn't make it out. I ended up having to return to my 'day job' early in the afternoon, so I didn't make it out to the South Side either. I do have some pictures from the Market Square stop, though, and I'll post them here as soon as I can!

Justin, be sure to allow some time for Food and Wine. I just got back from Epcot and the food is yummy.

Yes! The Food and Wine festival was delicious! I'm still thinking about the cheddar cheese soup near Canada and the steak and polenta from San Francisco, I think . . .

HOW EXCITING!! Have a great trip, can't wait to hear all about ALL of your recent adventures!!

Thanks for the dancing banana! I'll be posting updates on the lastest trips as quickly as I can!

Disney sure hit the jackpot with choosing you, Justin! another local guy done good! They are so lucky to have found you! is your position a one year tenure or is it permanent? they better hold on to you!

Thank you so much for the compliments! It is always great to hear from local folks! The CMO position is a one-year contract that runs through April of 2009. 6 months to go!

HAve a wonderful time Justin and say hi to Tink for us!! That would be so exciting to see or do something regarding this long awaited movie. I am so excited for you!! Have a great few days. We will be here when you get back!!

Suz

Of course I said hello to Tinker Bell for you! And all of her friends . . . when I get to that point in the story I have a picture of me with the 5 fairies who will be appearing later this month in Pixie Hollow in Toontown. It's going to be a HUGE hit!

Wow!!! Justin I just saw your pics with Leanne on her blog. You look soooooo adorable in that Halloween inspired outfit. I love it!!! :hmghost:

Thanks! The Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party costume was a lot of fun. The entire party was fantastic, but being able to be a part of it and hand out candy was a great time!

I am really a late comer to this thread, but I just found it this morning and I am excited about reading more of all your activities Justin. What a dream job you have. Looking forward to more and pictures too.

Thanks for joining us ! I'm so glad you found your way to this thread! More updates coming soon . . .

:)

I haven't forgotten about you all here! I'm headed back to Walt Disney World for another four days of Magic! My next trip is about 6 or 7 weeks away (to California in the beginning of December) so I will get here and get you all caught up!

See you again soon!

Of course I haven't forgotten! This has been an unbelievably busy fall - a very exhilarating and fun fall, for sure, just busy! But, fear not, more udpates are on their way! (I just need to figure out where I left off!)

I can't wait to hear about your recent trip! We will be at Disney soon, wished you were going to be there.

:)

Okay . . .

For those of you who are new to this thread (or just trying to catch up with where we were) here's the latest:

I last left off on page 38. I was in the middle of updating you all about my August trip to Walt Disney World as Chief Magic Official.

Since that time, I've had the chance to head to New York City for the "What Will You Celebrate?" announcement; I headed back to WDW in September for some great fun at Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and the Tinker Bell movie previews; I caught up with the national "What Will You Celebrate?" tour during their Pittsburgh stop; and I just returned from another all-too-brief visit to Walt Disney World this past weekend. SO, in short, boy do I have a lot to share!

I believe I left off in the middle of my 3rd day (Friday) of the August trip. That morning we had gathered at the Magic Kingdom to greet guests, spend some time with the Dream Squad, and witness the awesome parade honoring 14-time Olympic Gold Medalist Michael Phelps.

Back on page 38 I posted several pictures from the parade, but here are a couple more just to refresh your memory!

After the parade we headed up toward the Rose Garden (just in front of Cinderella's Castle, off to the Tomorrowland side of the Hub) where Michael was answering some questions for the media and greeting a group of local swimmers who had the awesome opportunity to meet him in person . . . .

While there, I had the chance to entertain some of the guests who were around trying to get a glimpse of Michael Phelps . . . okay, well entertain might not be the right word. I was just taking some pictures and saying hello while observing all of the incredible effort and attention to detail that goes into hosting someone like this at the parks.
