Chat Rooms are Dangerous: The Girls and Nobby are Baaaaaccckkk! Update: 9/27 (PG.43)

Paula, looks like a great trip! My SIL was just there, but only for a quick day trip-they just visited the Hershey Museum and then the school they have. Makes me want to buy a truckload of Hershey bars! :goodvibes

hmmm i thought that since there is no one in the chatroom to enable right now..... I'd try doing it right here :rotfl2:

I got a special "guest code" via email today... if anyone wants to join us in September .... or would like to upgrade their current trip.....

Its $199 per night for a 1 bedroom villa at either Old Key West or at SSR
valid dates are 8/30-10/1

There's a # to call with a pin...
The caveat is you have to do a DVC tour and you need to be referred.

if you are interested in coming along or 'upgrading' let me know;) the more the merrier ya know:lmao:

Paula

We got that one too! So, if only one person can use each code, I can help enable. :rotfl2:

I'm hoping this means the crowds are really low at that time and Disney is stretching to fill rooms....!

Me too Brook!!! I hoping for low crowds!!!

Great Hershey pix! We loved it there when we went. Everything was so well maintained and we thought the area was beautiful.

Oh, great code! Do you think I could talk my DH into letting me go alone 2 weeks before our family trip? Yeah, me neither.

Wow, those pictures of SSR are awesome. Makes me want to become a DVC member. :rotfl: The rooms look great and I love the views of DTD.

Hershey looks like a lot of fun. Now I want to visit. I must say though-those swings scare the "bad word" out of me. I heard a horror story about swings like that when I was little. Dont know if it was true or not, and never rode them since.

Brook elizabeth:

Fabulous pictures of SSR! I can see I'm really going to have to step up my game when it comes to taking future pictures there.

Paula:

Fabulous pictures of Hershey Park. You made it look better than it does in real life. I think the Soaker roller coaster (whatever its called) was probably a smart choice. The backward loops in the Sidewinder are a bit freaky (unless you keep your eyes closed). I love the great bear, but the wildcat gives me a serious headache. :scared:

Sounds like you had a fun trip and definately a location for a future off-site DIS meet! :thumbsup2

If my memory serves me right, aren't there a lot of hills to walk up and down. No wonder your mom was tired!

I hope your DH has always been allergic to chocolate. I would be very sad if I had to give it up!

He became allergic when he was like 8 or something... he could have it before that, though. But apparently he got SO SICK from it, that just the smell of chocolate disgusts him and if you have a cupcake or something that was 'next to' or 'touched' something chocolate he will flip out and not eat it :rotfl: It is very annoying!!!!

Thank MEK!! I think I should have done the backwards loops LOL!! I was soaked.... full emersion baptism soaked. It wouldn't have been as bad if it had been warm, but it was chilly by then and the water was COLD!! Allison's little lips were blue! The Bear was awesome... definately one i'd do again and me and the girls loved the wildcat... Nanna...not so much:rotfl2::rotfl2:

It would be a great off site DISmeet location!! And there are an awful lot of hills! I thought that section of PA was more flat, i was suprised at how hilly the park actually was!

Thanks!!! :goodvibes MEK - Oh, you won't have a problem - everywhere you look is something beautiful and scenic! :thumbsup2 (Plus, I'm a complete picture freak who takes like 8 pictures of the bathroom alone!)

Chapter 9: Well Your Highness, I must say everything is going just swimmingly. I knew you had it in you, ha ha! – Cogsworth (Beauty and the Beast)

Well I’m sitting here in our hotel room in Austin, listening to the boys (Prince P and his best friend Ryan) playing NHL 09 on Xbox 360 and I figured it would be a great time to update on our PTR. Well according to the title everything is going swimmingly and that is true…well sort of…Paula still is figuring out the bag issue, but I think she has decided to bring a Vera with her to Disney. Which Vera she is planning on is up in the air she has many choices:

1. Bucket Tote in raspberry fizz (that P took in October)
2. Betsy in Hope's Garden (which she got in Feb for valentines day because she thought it would be the perfect park bag.... so she put it on layaway and gave DH the slip LOL!!)
3. Stephanie in rhapsody blue... which is her newest one... and a bit more roomy than the others, yet not huge.... (like the cargo sling!) so it's definately a contender...

However in the shoe department, things are going pretty good, I guess you could say swimmingly.

Sandals: Well after going in May I knew I wanted to have a nice pair of sandals that I could walk in around the parks, but I’m not a sandal person so how was I going to find a great pair. Well, duh…if you want to find something to buy, you head to the Cess Pool of Enabling and well that’s what I did. In the special chat room that night there was a ton of us, gnomies were coming out of the woodwork and into the chat room, and it was GREAT!! Well we started talking shoes, and then the lovely Paula mentioned the now infamous shake and bake sandals. In reality they are the Montrail (which LL pointed out sounded a lot like monorail LOL) brand of sandals. Well all of sudden it got kind of quiet in the chat room, because we were all googling these sandals. Well, that night Paula, LL, and Christine ordered their sandals and today I followed suit. As it turns out Paula has great taste in sandals because I ordered the exact same pair as she did!! Hopefully she’ll let us know if the sandals are working out for her!! She baked them and has been wearing them throughout the weekend!! So yes I ordered mine and they will be here by the time I return from visiting my mom (yes I’m going on one more trip LOL)!! Well by now I’m sure you want to know what these sandals look like, so I’ll post you a picture.

Also in the drama that is park shoes, I’ve been in search of a good pair of tennis shoes. Well I went to a local sporting good store a couple of weeks ago and found a pair of shoes, however when I really started wearing them at home they were rubbing wrong on my heal, so they had to be taken back. Well I have heard great things about Asics tennis shoes, so when we went to the outlet mall today, I decided to look at Shoe Carnival and found a great pair of Asics Gel Frantics. I had read in a Consumer Reports that these were one of their top rated walking shoes, so I tried them on, and then I hopped down the aisle and pretended to do aerobics, and I loved how they felt…so a $54.00 dollar shoe was bought for $48.00 I think I got myself a great deal YAY!! Here is a picture of my new tennis shoes!!

AsicsShoe.jpg

Just a side note, knowing that I’m going to be living only 15 minutes away from an outlet mall, and not just any outlet mall, but one with a Disney Outlet store, really makes the whole moving thing a whole lot easier for me LOL!!! I found a great shirt in there today, but well Disney clothing is a whole other update in itself LOL!!

So at this point we have dealt with the bag issue, we have dealt with the shoe issue, and apparently now I should be dealing with the packing issue…yes with only 61 days left (63 for Paula) we are considering what we should and shouldn’t be packing! Of course Paula has it a little tougher than I do with her flying down, so she has to be more selective! I’m driving so I’m bringing everything including the kitchen sink, well maybe not that much, but I definitely have not learned the art of packing light LOL!!! In a future issue, when I discuss lists, I’ll make sure to post my packing list along with my backpack list LOL!!

Well speaking of countdowns….let’s talk Hidden Mickeys!! So as I mentioned early I’m 61 days away from Disney and Paula is 63 days and today I’ve been thinking about my first night meal at Disney. I’ll be eating at Rose N Crown for dinner with Christine (2xcited2sleep). I have already decided I will be indulging in the Fish and Chips again that I so enjoyed in May!! So because of that I will be do Hidden Mickeys dedicated to a Disney movie that takes place in the United Kingdom and the United Kingdom Pavilion in EPCOT!!

101 Dalmations

101Dalmations.jpg

Don’t you just love this movie!! I just adore those little puppies and the catchy Cruella DeVil song always makes my foot to start a tapping!!! No matter how many times I watch it I’m always rooting for those puppies to make it far far away from that evil woman and her fur coat obsession.

So where is the Hidden Mickey in this film? Well once again its towards the beginning. Next time you watch this movie, make sure to take a very close look at the stain glass window during the wedding scene. Hopefully you’ll be lucky and find yourself a Hidden Mickey.

Now on to Hidden Mickeys in the park!

United Kingdom Pavilion

UnitedKingdom.jpg

This is one of my favorite pavilions in all of the World Showcase. First of all you can meet some great characters there. I have seen Alice in Wonderland, Mary Poppins, and all of the Winnie the Pooh characters. I love the red telephone booth and the buildings are just so awesome!!! I have also found a new love in the restaurant located in the UK, Rose & Crown. I really really enjoyed my meal there in May and I can’t wait to get back there. So where in the UK would you go if you wanted to find a Hidden Mickey. Well, you should head to the Sportsman Shoppe. Find a sign and notice the alignment of certain sports equipment on that sign and VIOLA, you will have one of the Hidden Mickeys located in the UK!!!

Well I will finally be back home sometime on Tuesday. I’m looking forward to be being back home as I have been away for two weeks. However, my stay at home will be short lived because I will be heading to spend some time with my Mom in Kansas. However, I should have more time online when I return and Prince P heads to Alaska. I never do well with the whole sleeping thing when he is away so I will have a lot of time to update!! For now Paula and I want wish you a great week filled with happy memories and good times!!!

I like the look of those sneakers...might have to check them out for myself!

I don't care how many times I've seen 101 Dalmations....I cry EVERY time.

What great purchases you've made. and once again thanks for the hidden mickey tips. When do you move?

I want pictures of these bags paula- I've only started learning about these Vera bags

Love both sets of shoes that you have bought -- especially those tennis shoes! I need to check them out!

We :lovestruc 101 Dalmations at our house -- probably because somedays our three dogs feel like 101. Not to mention that Charles likes to sing a few verses of Cruella de Ville when he thinks I am being "mean." I will have to keep my eyes peeled for the Hidden Mickey! :thumbsup2

I love the new sneakers. Super cute. My "monorail" flip flops are working for me. I didn't get the slides like you two.

I'm pretty excited that you will be living so close to a Disney Outlet!

Great shoe purchases, Jen. Those "monorail" shoes intrigue me and what a great buy on the tennies!!:woohoo:

Good luck with your bag decision, Paula.

We haven't watched 101 Dalmations in quite awhile, but its at the top of my list now.:thumbsup2

Speaking of Cruela - anyone a fan of The Parent Trap - the newer one? My kids always say "nothing, nothing - Cruela" when I ask them what they said that I believed was sassing. :) Sadly, it occurs a lot at our house.

Great looking shoes Jen!
