Hi Everyone!!
We are back from our little Hershey getaway
The weather was pleasant, not real hot, but warm and dry. Which is much better than it apparently was at home. According to my DH, our furnace kicked on on Saturday, it was so chilly!!! Where oh where are the dog days of summer????
Well... before I get to some pics I have to share with you all a couple of notes....
the baggalini was a bust. It was plenty big enough, but it was too heavy with my camera in it.

If I was going to Hershey or a day park planning to use only my little Cybershot (which is pretty much all i used anyway...but I wanted the full effect) I think it would be fine. But it will not work for Disney... I need a shoulder bag that fits under my arm...not the cross-body type. I think that my Vera Bucket Tote may be going along again...she's the one I took in October and seemed to work just fine for me.
My mom had a hard time keeping up this trip. She blamed the heat, but honestly, it was maybe mid 70's with a nice breeze. Probably comparable to the weather for our November trip. So me thinks i'll have to plan in more rest time for that trip.
OK... about the mini trip....
We left home Friday afternoon. Later than we had planned, because I saw that the baggalini was to be delivered that day, so i waited for it
It was about a 3 hr drive.... which took 4 since my mom needed to stop twice for bio-breaks
We stayed at the Courtyard Marriott in Harrisburg (about 15 min from Hershey) the hotel was newer and well equipted. The girls enjoyed the pool... well at least til some little girl threw-up in it
We got up early on Saturday... a bit too early.... had breakfast at Eatin' Park. We arrived at Hershey park at 8:30.... oops... doesn't open til 10!! So we drove around a bit and found the Hershey Botanical Gardens. Since it opened at 9, we enjoyed the gardens until 1045 or so, then headed to the Park. Its a good thing too, because most of my pics from the trip are from the garden!! LOL!!
We spent the whole day at the park. The girls concentrated on riding roller coasters, so we spent a lot of time in line. Lines at regular amusement parks are so boring! I really missed the WDW queues!! The lines at WDW are part of the attraction, and sooo much more enjoyable!
We snacked around a bit. Ellie got to ride her 1st 'suspended' roller coaster, which she loved

and Allison tackled her 1st 'Loop'.
As the night wound down, Allison wanted to ride the Sidewinder. Its a rollercoaster that has a corkscrewy type loop and a regular loop... but the thing is, it goes thru them forward, then it stops, and you go thru it all BACKWARDS!!

not my idea of a good time

She also wanted to ride the Roller-Soaker. Which is a suspended (rather slow moving) coaster type ride that you can get splashed/squirted from water features from below. Well Mom was not willing to ride either... and I decided to pick my poison...I picked the Roller-Soaker. I figured we'd get a bit wet, but it was better than backwards loops! WHAT A MISTAKE!!! There are 3 'big' water features.... we got nailed by all 3! I kid you not... a full emersion baptism would have been less wet!! Being Drowned would have been less wet than we ended up!! I had to go into the restroom and wring out my clothes!! We bought beachtowels to wrap ourselves in and headed to the car

It was about 10pm... so we beat the 11pm close rush at least
We hit the drive thru at Mc Donalds and went back to the Marriott where Allison and i took VERY warm showers... ate our grub and crashed!!
Sunday, we had a slower start, checked out, and had breakfast at Bob Evans. We then headed back to Hershey. We toured chocolate World and learned how they make the chocolate.... I had no idea it was such a long process!! Dora the Explorer always made it seem so simple

After we had our fill... we scooted over to the Hershey Outlets. We visited the
Disney Store Outlet. not much there for us... but I did buy 4 beachtowels for 5.99 each to put into my Owners Locker

We hit the Claire's, Hush Puppy, and Liz Clayborne outlets... as well as a scrapbooking store, that had some very cute stuff that I just HAD to buy
The trip home was uneventful. Only 1 stop (because I desperately needed some starbucks

) And that was it! Not much of a mini TR... but there you go
I'll post pics in the next post..since I did get a bit "smiley-happy"
