I had to do a "double-read" on the town you are staying in, I had never heard of it, now I've seen it twice in just a couple days!!

I will post pics tonight-about to head off for work here in a few minutes! :goodvibes

OOH Thanks Brook!! Have a great day at work!

This Hidden Mickey is found looking at the mural in the queue. While you are waiting to board make sure to find the viking ship. Look closely at the head gear of all the vikings, you might be surprised to see what one viking decided to wear that day to work LOL!!!

Thanks for this little tidbit. I will definately try to find this on my next trip. For some reason I missed this update, so now I am reading at work and I can see your vacation pictures. It sounds beautiful! such a nice change of pace!

SSR Grounds - as a reminder, it was January while we were there, and also one of the coldest times in Florida's history, so the grounds don't look too lush! It was still very beautiful, and I imagine in the warmer months it's even more so!

I don't know how I missed your update!?! :confused3 What a beautiful morning walk along the pier. I'd love to live near the water. And good for you on making exercise part of your day-- obviously it is working with the smaller jeans! :woohoo:

Brook - love all those pics of Saratoga Springs! I have to ask - are you standing on the commode to get that high angle on the tub? I appreciate your diligence! :) It looks like a really nice place to stay! Jen & Paula- I think you're going to love it! :yay:

OH THANK YOU SO MUCH BROOK!!!!!!:worship::worship: Those pictures were amazing to look at!!!!!!! I really really enjoyed seeing them and it makes me even more anxious to get there!!!!!! Thank you again for sharing those with us!!!!!!!!!!

:rotfl2: That's funny! But, nope! The commode is actually in a separate little room off the part with the shower. It's behind it's own door-which is REALLY nice when getting ready in the morning/evening. I think I stood on my tippy toes, then reached the camera up high in hopes of a good shot. I'm tall for a gal too, so that helps! :goodvibes

I think they are going to really love SSR too! It's very beautiful!

It was a very beautiful morning and hopefully here in a bit we will be heading back out for our last morning at the pier...we leave to head to TX tomorrow. Oh I could totally live near a lake...the ocean during the summer makes me a bit nervous with hurricanes sometimes LOL!!!!!!

I think I'm going to love SSR too YAY!!!

Been reading along, but wanted to pipe in and say YES SSR is a really pretty and relaxing resort, and the pools are terrific! The boat access to DTD is very nice, b/c you can always get a bus to DTD from any resort, and if you have dinner at a different resort, that hop to SSR from DTD takes no time...:thumbsup2

Hi Everyone!!
We are back from our little Hershey getaway:goodvibes

The weather was pleasant, not real hot, but warm and dry. Which is much better than it apparently was at home. According to my DH, our furnace kicked on on Saturday, it was so chilly!!! Where oh where are the dog days of summer????

Well... before I get to some pics I have to share with you all a couple of notes....

the baggalini was a bust. It was plenty big enough, but it was too heavy with my camera in it.:headache: If I was going to Hershey or a day park planning to use only my little Cybershot (which is pretty much all i used anyway...but I wanted the full effect) I think it would be fine. But it will not work for Disney... I need a shoulder bag that fits under my arm...not the cross-body type. I think that my Vera Bucket Tote may be going along again...she's the one I took in October and seemed to work just fine for me.

My mom had a hard time keeping up this trip. She blamed the heat, but honestly, it was maybe mid 70's with a nice breeze. Probably comparable to the weather for our November trip. So me thinks i'll have to plan in more rest time for that trip.

OK... about the mini trip....

We left home Friday afternoon. Later than we had planned, because I saw that the baggalini was to be delivered that day, so i waited for it:lmao:

It was about a 3 hr drive.... which took 4 since my mom needed to stop twice for bio-breaks:sad2:

We stayed at the Courtyard Marriott in Harrisburg (about 15 min from Hershey) the hotel was newer and well equipted. The girls enjoyed the pool... well at least til some little girl threw-up in it:confused3

We got up early on Saturday... a bit too early.... had breakfast at Eatin' Park. We arrived at Hershey park at 8:30.... oops... doesn't open til 10!! So we drove around a bit and found the Hershey Botanical Gardens. Since it opened at 9, we enjoyed the gardens until 1045 or so, then headed to the Park. Its a good thing too, because most of my pics from the trip are from the garden!! LOL!!

We spent the whole day at the park. The girls concentrated on riding roller coasters, so we spent a lot of time in line. Lines at regular amusement parks are so boring! I really missed the WDW queues!! The lines at WDW are part of the attraction, and sooo much more enjoyable!

We snacked around a bit. Ellie got to ride her 1st 'suspended' roller coaster, which she loved:lovestruc and Allison tackled her 1st 'Loop'.

As the night wound down, Allison wanted to ride the Sidewinder. Its a rollercoaster that has a corkscrewy type loop and a regular loop... but the thing is, it goes thru them forward, then it stops, and you go thru it all BACKWARDS!!:scared1: not my idea of a good time:laughing: She also wanted to ride the Roller-Soaker. Which is a suspended (rather slow moving) coaster type ride that you can get splashed/squirted from water features from below. Well Mom was not willing to ride either... and I decided to pick my poison...I picked the Roller-Soaker. I figured we'd get a bit wet, but it was better than backwards loops! WHAT A MISTAKE!!! There are 3 'big' water features.... we got nailed by all 3! I kid you not... a full emersion baptism would have been less wet!! Being Drowned would have been less wet than we ended up!! I had to go into the restroom and wring out my clothes!! We bought beachtowels to wrap ourselves in and headed to the car:rotfl2: It was about 10pm... so we beat the 11pm close rush at least:rolleyes:

We hit the drive thru at Mc Donalds and went back to the Marriott where Allison and i took VERY warm showers... ate our grub and crashed!!

Sunday, we had a slower start, checked out, and had breakfast at Bob Evans. We then headed back to Hershey. We toured chocolate World and learned how they make the chocolate.... I had no idea it was such a long process!! Dora the Explorer always made it seem so simple:happytv: After we had our fill... we scooted over to the Hershey Outlets. We visited the Disney Store Outlet. not much there for us... but I did buy 4 beachtowels for 5.99 each to put into my Owners Locker:yay: We hit the Claire's, Hush Puppy, and Liz Clayborne outlets... as well as a scrapbooking store, that had some very cute stuff that I just HAD to buy:rolleyes1

The trip home was uneventful. Only 1 stop (because I desperately needed some starbucks;)) And that was it! Not much of a mini TR... but there you go:lmao:

I'll post pics in the next post..since I did get a bit "smiley-happy"

Paula
