Anyone have this?? Looks like a nice travel rewards card and would basically pay our airfare come Oct to Disney.
Looking for pros/cons on it, other than the annual fee, I'm not seeing to many negatives.

I just got mine. I read up on it on thepointsguy.com There's a generous bonus if you spend $4K in the first 3 months and another bonus for adding an authorized card holder(spouse). If you fly Southwest, you can transfer the points directly to Southwest. There is also a shopping portal to build up the points. I didn't see a negatives. And the first year, the annual fee is waived.

Awesome! Thanks so much! We do fly Southwest and I have a reward card for them also through Chase. When you say you can transfer directly, is that done through your RR#?? That would be great since I already have enough for one free airfare. Spending the $4000 won't be a problem for us, since we put everything on the card then pay it off each month.

I think it all done through the Chase sapphire website. You get 2% on dining and travel vs. the 1% with the SW chase card. It seems like there is an option to book rental cars and flights directly and you get to use fewer points. I browsed the website and the only flights that came up were Delta. For me, it makes more sense to transfer the points and use them on SWA.

Yes, the Chase Ultimate Rewards points transfer to Southwest at 1:1. Between the SW bonuses and the Sapphire card, we have earned MANY free flights in recent years. Points were transferred online through the Chase site and appeared in the Southwest account a few seconds later. Keep in mind that the Ultimate Rewards points transferred to Southwest will not count towards earning a companion pass, but they are fully usable in all other ways. Highly recommend it!

A great combo is the Freedom/Sapphire. You can get 5% back on rotating categories and then those UR points can transfer to the Sapphire preferred.

Freedom/Sapphire/Ink. UR coverage is 5% rotating category, 2% restaurant+one of the best car insurance+no foreign transaction, and 5% office supplies/5% cable/phone bill.

Freedom/Saphhire/Ink would net u 115k(i think) with 8.5kish spendings(i think).
I would however pick what based on airline and what your nearest airline hub would be. if your hub is AA, AA card could net you 100k miles.
delta, im not sure if theres anything great.

Yes this is an awesome combo! I've been wanting the freedom for quite awhile but chase won't give me anymore cards :( grrr

I love my Sapphire preferred. It was my go to card for quite some time. I love the flexibility of it due to the various 1:1 transfer partners.

haha, that 5/24 rule stopping you? Once your year end with Sapphire, you should change it to a Freedom, then apply for the CSP after 18 months. Honestly, i dont find CSP much great anymore, but i plan to keep it around with the fee free Ink.
I just replaced my CSP with a Citi Premier for now.

My favorite feature of the Sapphire Preferred is that points are worth an additional 25% when you book travel through their website. We haven't paid for an airline ticket out of pocket in years!

I like the sapphire preferred,it's a basic card in my wallet.... well worth the af for what I use it for- it has so many transfer options for travel,it's valuable! (just last month I wanted more SWA RR points, easy transfer over) don't forget the shopping portal for extra points! also a good mix with the freedom card....

It is a nice card filled with perks. Too bad they got rid of the first Friday dining perk.

Thanks everyone! I've applied for it and got approved! It sounds like a perfect fit for our needs :)

This one is one of our keeper cards. DH and I travel hack and will apply for a credit card just for the sign up bonus and then cancel when the year rolls around. Not this card. I'm glad we kept it since Chase is making it harder to get any of the cards that earn Ultimate Rewards. If you have had 5 applications for any card, not just Chase ones, in the last 24 months they are denying the applicants. Congrats on the new card! I second the idea of picking up a Chase Freedom card which is no fee. The points you earn on the rotating categories can be transferred to your Sapphire account which then can be used for air miles.

That is my favorite combo of cards for maintaining our Ultimate Rewards balance! The 5% on office supply purchases is the best perk on the Ink for us since we purchase gift cards for Disney, Whole Foods, Bed Bath & Beyond, Macy's etc. at the office supply stores and then use the gift cards to buy what we need at those places or pay for Disney vacations and still get 5 miles on the dollar.

I also agree about picking based on the nearest hub. AA has a hub in Miami and we've taken advantage of some of the Citi AA 100K deals. That said, it's nice that the Chase UR points can transfer to airlines across the 3 alliances. We can transfer Chase UR points to BA and then book award flights using BA miles to fly on AA if need be.

I've got the Chase Freedom card so I'll watch the categories each month! I should really rack up on groceries!

I'm sorry, but I feel like a lot of this is Greek to me. I signed up for a Sapphire card tonight because I would really like to get free (or cheaper) flights. Can you explain to me the best way to do this? I don't have any other travel CC.

ETA: can I browse for flights now, or do I have to wait for the card? And am I able to use the miles/points for all of my family's flights? Or just me?

how quickly do u need to fly and from where?

you can...
1) transfer to a partner. U would need to make the 4k spending(to get the 50K) + a month to be able to transfer. UA has some nice redemption, usually 15-25k per one way in continental america...
2) go through chase rewards, i think its 20% off if you use points...

you can browse them, see how much miles you need... but you cant book anything. You can use your miles for others, but to transfer to their point program, they will need to be your AU.
