I received phone calls and an email letting me know they were concerned with suspicious attempted charges (they denied them for me) and sure enough, someone had stolen my card number. I am really impressed they caught this on the day it happened and were so prompt about contacting me to get the card closed out.

I know it could be a dozen places they got my info. from, but I really wish I could figure out. I am so careful and take all the precautions you can, but now days it impossible to completely protect yourself. Very thankful, thus far, it was not my actual identity. That would be scary.

Just in case someone asks....I haven't made any recent purchases in Disney, on the Disney site, or purchasing anything for an upcoming trip.

They did that for us too, the problem was they left a message at our home while on vacation and the charges were legitimate. We couldn't figure out why our card was declined trying to fill up in Georgia, then found out once we got home.

I always carry a backup card just in case of a situation like this. Without that back up card, I doubt the cash on hand would have given us the fuel needed to get back home.

On the flip side make sure you let them know (or any chase card) when and where you will be on vacation.

I've always been really impressed with Chase and their fraud department, on both the credit and debit side.

My Southwest card is through Chase too and I have been very impressed with their fraud department.

Our card number was stolen while we were at Disney Mother's Day week. We dint use that card at the airport, only Disney. Someone tried to buy over $400 in groceries in Kissimmee the next week. They blocked the purchase, cancelled the card, and let us know right away.

Last year at F&W I charged within 15 minutes of each other purchases totaling more than $200 each. They texted and called me to check on these purchases as they took place in FL but we are from IL. I was quite impressed. They really do seem to be on top of possible/actual fraud transactions.

I've been very impressed with them as well. They've caught fraud on our card (and we're very careful with it too).

We always try to remember to notify them of travel but sometimes I forget. They seem to know when we're at Disney - maybe because when we book we use that card or they can follow our gas purchasing trail (we drive) from NC to FL - what can I say we're somewhat creatures of habit.

Another one here very impressed with Chase's fraud dept. We had our CC# stolen and they were calling us before I even had to check - someone was trying to make several purchases on Amazon or Ebay. Even though some of the charges were very small, they still caught it. I'm thinking my CC# was stolen when I got gas and I handed my CC to the guy at the pump. That's the last time I bought gas where I didn't pump it myself. I never let my CC out of my sight now.

Chase is totally on the ball with fraud, but definitely make sure you let them know when you are on vacation! On a Disney trip once, I had my card denied and when I called Chase, they had flagged it due to my purchases in FL. (We lived in NY at the time.) It was a minor frustration, but definitely not something I would want happening again!

Chase is PHENOMENAL with fraud detection. Three or four times now, they have caught it immediately for us. We're VERY satisfied with them and have passed on cards with lower rates or better rewards because of how happy we are with the security of Chase.

Another happy Chase card owner. They identified our card being stolen before we knew about it, someone stole our number and there were 3 charges, the first one slipped through, the caught the other ones before they went through, but they handled the fraudulent charge immediately, they had called us to check on these charges, I spoke to someone about it and they told me what was going on, we told them the charge and further attempts were not done by us, they cancelled our cards, issued new cards, and overnighted them. We have 0 liability, so it gave me peace of mind, during a time where we were upset and worried about the whole thing.

Last year someone changed the address on our account and got cards sent to her through Chase. I don't know how they would have known our passwords to do it. They did it over the phone. They couldn't explain how it happened either. The thieves fortunately forgot to change the email and I got an email confirming the changes. When they sent out new cards for us, they sent her a new set too. DUH! Now any changes to our account has to be handled by the fraud department. I've also found it strange that when we make several purchases of well over one and two thousand dollars within a short period of time, when we are doing home projects, it's never flagged as potential fraud. I also bought a 5,000 hot tub and it went straight through. I wonder how that is determined. Maybe it's a percentage of your credit limit. Glad everyone else is happy with Chase. Can't beat the benefits on our Chase cards so we kept the.

I had them catch fraudulent activity after I had placed an online retail order. They noticed a small charge that was immediately reversed. Someone was testing the number to see if it worked. Chase called me right away and sent new cards overnight.

After using my card for 5 different purchases in my hometown in California, I got an email about an attempted purchase in Chicago (obviously not mine). Called, cancelled the card got a new one. The only negative thing I can say is that I was told a card would be over nighted (on Monday) and it wasn't. I called them (on Wednesday) to find out where the card was and it wasn't even sent, so it took 10 days to get a new card, not the 3 I was told.

I was buying online and made a mistake when typing in wrong expiration date. They were on the phone as I was trying to make the correction.

We are also very happy with Chase.

I had left a Freedom card in my car after running out for a snack one night (in the door handle, I am bad about leaving it there if I go through a drive-thru) and someone broke into our car.

My husband took the car to work the next day and didn't notice anything out of the ordinary until about 8am he got a text asking if we'd made some purchases at 3am that morning. He knew it wasn't us, so he replied "no" and someone from the fraud department called him immediately and shut down the card.

I suggested he go check the car (noticed the GPS missing) and file a police report- conveniently he works next door to the police station!

His police officer friend was there, saw him and came over to see what he needed. Husband explained... and his friend had arrested the thief on an unrelated charge and was booking him right then! They had to have husband wait in the hall while they moved the thief into a holding cell. Upon arrest, he'd had my credit card in his pocket and was on tape using it at a gas station a few blocks away (plus he purchased a cell phone which he also had in his pocket).

Now that was 18 or so months ago and we're still dealing with the legal side of it. Chase made it easy! The court system mailed us restitution letters which we faxed off to Chase.

Not too long ago I was having a shopping day with my son when I also got a text. We were doing a lot of silly and fun things and had done a photo booth. I wasn't sure how much it cost, but I got a fraud text from Chase asking if I'd made some $5 purchase in another state. I said no- same thing! They called immediately. We were able to determine, though, that the photo booth company was just operating out of another state so I confirmed the charge was legitimate and we continued on our way.

They have EXCELLENT fraud protection!

Last year I was purchasing Skylanders when they first came out at Toys R Us and they were limiting it to 2 per purchase transaction but allowing as many transactions as you wanted. After 3 charges to my Chase card Chase declined additional purchases. On the way home I received the call from the fraud department. In this case they did their job a little too well...

Chase has caught several fraud attempts with our card as well. They also blocked one very large Black Friday purchase I was trying o make at walmart one year ( that was embarrassing). I get texts and calls from them now when they suspect fraud so I can immediately let them no when making a large purchase so that has helped with the embarrassment factor when your legitimate purchase is declined.

They never question my vacations either, maybe it's because I book all the hotels, airline tickets etc on that card. Plus they know I go to Disney every few months lol.

My husbands wallet was stolen from the gym once and Chase knew it before we did! The charges weren't anything all that bizarre either, Target, and gas. But they said it was different Targets than we usually go too, and we had just gotten gas earlier that day.

Once I got a text when we shopped at a different Target in the DFW area making sure it was us.

I had a different card denied because I didn't tell them I was on vacation, but never with Chase. I think they know my vacation habits very well! :rolleyes1
