Hi! I have a couple questions about this card. We received a invitation for a $200 Disney GC upon approval. We decided it was a great deal and were approved. We don't use credit cards but were wondering what types of things you all use them for and what benefits it has that you utilize. Also, to get the GC we have to make a purchase. Does it have to be a certain amount or can we buy something for say $5? Thanks in advance!

Any amount for the first purchase is acceptable. As for what we use it for, we use it for virtually EVERYTHING-- except mortgage and gas/electric, but I would if they took it. I use it as if it were a debit card. What I do is deduct my purchases in my checkbook register as they happen so I know exactly how much money we really have. When the credit card bill comes, I pay it in full. We have had the card for years and have never paid a penny in fees or interest. We put about $50,000 on the card every year so we usually have around $500 in rewards each time we go to Disney (once per year). We also take advantage of the Visa meet and greet at EPCOT. It is a great card to have if you are responsible with how you use it.:thumbsup2

For my first purchase, I bought $1 french fries at McDonalds and they sent me my $200 gift card. :thumbsup2
The only other purchase we used our card for was our upcoming trip to Disney. The card offers 6 months 0% finance on Disney vacation packages, so we'll pay it off before any interest charges kick in.

This is us exactly. We know we could probably find a card with better rewards but the disney rewards are most valuable to us as a family. We use them ONLY on our trips. We estimate what we will need to pay in tips at TS restaurants (we always do DDP), put some towards the hotel, and then save a small amount for souveniers and other incidentals. It is so nice for us to have a little fluff "money" to play with on our trips.

I put all groceries on it, walmart/target and any big purchase over $300. We renovated our home recently and bought about $20,000 in furniture so between that and general expenses we have $700 in DD. Its awesome.

We use our CC for all purchases, then pay it off every month. Some things that I'd recommend for you would be:

- we pay our cable/phone/internet bill
- recurring bills (magazines/paper/fitness center)
- medical appointments & prescriptions

Some other things that you could add (if you feel you can use the credit card and not spend more than you would if you were paying cash) would be groceries and other shopping expenses.

We charge everything and anything that we can to the card and pay it off in full each month. It adds up!!

If you applied jointly, whoever is the secondary card holder needs to apply again for the card using the same offer.
DH and I did this and received $400.
Earlier this year we received the offer again, Both applied, DH got a letter saying that he was already a card holder (several) but I slipped through and got another $200

I'll chime in with nearly the same answer you're getting over and over. We use ours for everything and then pay it off every month so we don't pay any interest. The only thing "wrong" with that is that you have to be very careful to not buy more than you have planned on.
We are leaving in a few days and we put $500 toward our resort bill with what we had saved up. It was really nice to have "free money" to help pay.

This is pretty much us as well. We love the card, and use it as you seem to; also paying it off in full each month. Our last trip, in August, we had roughly $400 in rewards to spend. It's really nice paying everything from dining tips, to souvenirs with it!

If I could figure a way to pay the mortgage and some other things with it, I'd do that too! :goodvibes
