Just wondering if anyone here banks with Chase and can offer any feedback on them. My DH and I are thinking of switching our accounts and since they are new to our area, we don't know a whole lot about them. I've researced their accounts online, and they seem to be in line with most other banks. We also have the Disney Visa with them, and so far haven't had any problems. Thanks in advance!

I've had a chase account since march and my debit card is a disney visa.. so far so good

I have had a Chase account for about 6 years and haven't had any problems. I am sure that just as with any large company, you will hear that some people love them and some hate them.

We have a Chase checking account w/debit card and the Chase Disney Visa and we have never had a problem.

We actually opened our checking account almost 15 years ago with NBD Bank which was acquired and merged into Bank One which was then merged into JP Morgan Chase. Interesting stuff, huh?

We bank with Chase, and have been really happy with them. Can't really complain since there is no monthly fees, and we get free checks, too.

I have had my Disney Chase Visa with them since day one but also have another Chase Visa Card for about 28 years. My cc was compromised twice over the years and they never gave me a problem. I also opened a savings account with them about two years ago. All is good.

I was really unhappy with the way we became Chase customers, and we do most of our stuff with our credit union, but when I'm really honest, I can't complain about our checking/debit experience with them. They've actually been quite nice.

And they take my rolled coin (and under-a-roll's-worth, unrolled coin, as well) which makes me very happy. WaMu never did that for me without wanting to charge 10%.

Meh. We've had them for 12 years (changed from First Chicago). It's a big company.

Minuses include fees for nearly everything, which have increased rather gradually over time.

A huge plus is that customer service is pretty good, and you can find ATMs everywhere.

I have had a checking account with them since Nov. I don't have any banking centers in my area, so everything I do is by transfer or direct deposit. The few times I have had to speak to customer service was 50/50. Just like any other bank, if you balance your check book you won't have any problems.

I just opened a checking account with them. If you google Chase you will find that they are offering $100 if you open a checking account with a $100 min balance. You have to have a direct deposit, or 5 debit cards transactions per month, to avoid a monthly fee of $6. After 10 days they will add $100 to your account. It will show up as interest, so you have to include it on your taxes. You have to keep the account open for 6 months or they will take back the $100.

My mom and I both opened accounts, and will use them as our Disney savings accounts. So far we are $200 closer to the next trip!

Have been banking with Chase for many years and really no complaints. Started out as a local company bank, then switched to BankOne and then to Chase. I had a negative experience one time years ago, but that was actually pre-Chase.

I like that there are lots of ATM's here locally, AND I can deposit checks at the ATM now which is very cool. So I can do it anytime, even if the branch isn't open. Agree w/ what other poster said in taking change to be cashed - we did this right before our last WDW trip and they happily took our coffee can full of loose change! No surcharge or anything.

And all the ATM's on WDW property are Chase, so that is a definite plus!

I just opened a checking account to get a $125 bonus. The only thing I didn't like was that when I went into the branch to get the account number to set up direct deposit, they tried to up-sell me to a different account. Apparently I "qualified" for a higher account because of my car loan with them (they considered that as my "money") which makes no sense to me as it's not savings, it's money I owe them. I don't plan on keeping the account long term.

We have 2 checking accounts with them as well as our mortgage. They are one of the stronger banks during this ecomony, which is why we decided to use them for our mortgage them switched our checking accounts to them. We have not had any problems with them. Since we hold our mortgage there we get a free safe deposit box, free cashier and money orders, additional checking and savings acounts with no fees and other perks that we don't really use. Would recommend them.

Ditto! Opened it with NBD 30+ yrs ago.

I opened a Chase checking account this week online. I saw an offer somewhere that you get $100 from them when you open a new account and make 5 direct deposits to the account this year. I plan on keeping my main checking with my credit union in OK that I've had forever (I live in TX now). I am just diverting $25 from my paycheck to go to that new account. After I've made 5 deposits and got the $100 bonus I'm closing the account. So, to make a long story short, here's a link to the offer which expires 6/30 which I just found out by googling:

The only thing I dislike is that your deposits don't credit the same day like they did with WAMU. i was very happy with WAMU. But now I signed up for a 3 percent cash back debit card so that is cool.

That's what I did also, and kept it open for about 9 months. Used the account for a few things, and it was okay. No better or worse than any other large bank. They did deliver on the $100 promise in good time after their criteria was met, so no complaints there. But my CU had more of my business and gave me no reason to leave. Their customer service is better than any of the larger banks IMO.

I were leaving my CU they would make the list of potentials, but only if they had the most convenience to what my financial needs were. Seems the big draw is the Disney Debit/Credit cards, so if you can make good use of that, it's probably a good choice.

Also to the previous poster, I think it's in the fine print that the account has to stay open for 6 months, or you have to pay the $100 back, so you may want to check the documents you got at account sign up.

I opened an account with them as a "travel tool", meaning I only use them when I go to WDW (because of their large presence in/around both WDW and DLP) -- that way, if my debit card should be lost or otherwise compromised, my main money account is still protected.

And when I did open my account, I was later given an offer (because of account inactivity, I suppose) that if I used my debit card 5 times, Chase would give me $125, which turned-out to be more spending money on vacation!

That's awesome! I should have kept mine open to see if I could have gotten the same. Like PP, our Chase account was just a "travel tool" account so we could have a card to use when going walkabout, instead of using our daily accounts or using a credit card.

Wish they would have offered me some cash to stay....
