Charter flight??? Yeigh or neigh

Well Mom and Dad would like to take a family trip to Aruba the week of April school vacation next year, so they call me tonight with prices for a nonstop charter flight??????
Any one have experiences with this type of flight? should I go for it? BTW I am a lousy flyer have to medicate myself just to get on the plane.
Please reassure me!!!

I have flown charter flights to MCO before, no issues. You do not get the extras like online check in or early seat selection, but the flights are the same as any other airline. They have pilots, mechanics, and flight attendants.

The downside to charters is that if your airplane have mechanical difficulties you could be waiting for a while for another plane to come as charter companies usually work with a small airline such as Champion or Omni Air Intl.

If the price is right, I would definitely make the purchase.

Many of the large tour operators use charter flights to route their guests to the various destinations. Flights to different distinations usually run 1-4 times per week allowing a variety of different lengths of stay. There is at least one operator (I believe it's Vacation Express) that uses Orlando Sanford International as a connecting point between the various domestic cities they serve and the various international destinations. These charters are considered "scheduled charters" in that they operate regardless of the number of passengers booked because not only are new passengers being taken to the various destinations but there are people already there scheduled to return. It is important to carefullly read the charter contract you must sign as part of the travel package. Most charter airlines use newer equipment that are just a reliable as the scheduled airlines. By using charters these tour operators can offer tremendous travel deals that include air, transfers and hotels all for one price. Try pricing scheduled air and hotels on your own and you'll see the price is $hundreds more.

I have been on charter flights to Cancun twice with no problems. If the price is right go for it!

I've flown on charters to Las Vegas and Atlantic City. One negative I found on those flights was that you don't know your flight times until a week or two before. Sometimes the flights did not leave until the afternoon. I would ask that question.

Ive flown on a few charter flights before. They are not horrible, but I still prefer Mainline carriers because their crew seems to be a little more cheerfull. But other then that, if the price is hard to beat, book it!

I flew Apple vacations to Mexico. I had my flight times picked out when I booked. No problems at all
