Charlie & the Chocolate factory

My daughter and I loved it, Johnny Depp gave one heck of a performance, not creepy at all.

A friends daughter told us she liked this ending better than the originals because the kids didn't die in this one, since we are never shown the kids again she assumed they died, never thought about that before.

The only thing that bothered me was the one trailer we saw before it ~ The Corpse Bride" by Tim Burton ~ I thought it was totally inappropriate for the amount of young children present....Did anyone else feel that way?

That trailer reminded me of the one for The Nightmare Before Christmas. To me, Charlie was 'creepier' then that trailer was.

DH, DS10, DD7 and I loved the movie! DH and I liked both the older version and this version equally. Johnny Depp is amazing!

As for trailer for "The Corpse Bride" and "King Kong", I think they were a little much for the younger crowd. DD7 usually doesn't get scared but I was watching her and they seemed to bother her a little. I just reminded her that it isn't real. That usually does it.
I'm actually more apt to cover my eyes in the scary parts than my kids are!!

Me too! I'm glad to hear I am not the only wimp on the DIS!!! :rotfl:

I just took my two neices, both age 4, and they both loved it. I laughed just as hard the second time. What a great movie. I keep saying the words "you're really weird" to people, and still cannot get the hospital scene out of head "This is the hospital for burned puppets - it's quite a recent development".

Anyways, I still think it's great and will conitnue to recommend it. I liked the different angles they took (instead of the geese that lay golden chocolate eggs, they used the squirrels instead).

We all loved hte trailer for Corpse Bride and my kids hate anything scary but they though it looked quite good but then they also loved A Nightmare Before Christmas and commented it remonded them of that movie.
