Charleston advice anyone?

There are several motorized tours available which leave from the Visitors' Center. They actually cover more ground than the carriage tours which leave from the Market. I love the carriage tours but the motorized tours do have the advantage of air conditioning! The tour guides are very good whichever way you decide to go.

you can actually stay at the old Citadel that they turned into a hotel. VERY cool.

BTW, our family just got home from Williamsburg and Washington DC late last night. It was our first time to go into Virginia and those areas. I have to say that your state is beautiful! We loved all of the places that we stopped. We even made a side trip to King's Dominion because we live outside of Charlotte and have Carowinds season passes. We were able to get into King's Dominion with them. That was fun too............just too hot. And, of course, it can't compare to WDW!!!!!!!

We stayed at the Embassy Suites which was the old citadel. Very convenient location, just a few steps to the visitors center.
