I am wondering how this works. We are at the DLH. Do they just add it to the bill and pay one total at the end of your stay or is it charged daily to your Visa? How does package delivery work as well? Does it work for all the shops in DL and DCA?

Sorry.no search engine

I believe it is charged to your room and at check out it would be on the bill. If you did this, I would keep all your receipts to verify againest the bill at check out. You can get delivery to the hotel from both DL and DCA. It won't be done at the time of purchase but later that night.

DGF did this in August and it was on the final statement.

We sent stuff the day before in December. It is available at the bell desk at 6 am the next morning.

ETA: they were purchased at World of Disney in DTD at 3 pm.

Yeah, I did it as well. It was no problem. I purchased something or other the day before we were due to check out of PPH (and, OP, it doesn't matter if you buy 20 things in one store or one tiny item - they will send anything back to the hotel free of charge), like on a Sunday, and it was available at the Bell desk of PPH at 7:00 a.m. the next morning, Monday, and I went downstairs to get the items from Bell and brought them back up to the room so I could pack them up before we checked out. I have never had a problem with that service and it has worked out very well for me! Unless they have changed their policy and no longer allow this one day before check out, then it should be fine.

yes, everything is on your bill at the end of your stay. It will list them all so you can see them and you just sign at the end of your stay for the charges. We have done this at the PPH and the GCH, it was very easy to do. We did keep our receipts and compare them but everything was right.

Yet again , it confirms my decision to stay at the DLH. This is our first Disney trip and I anticipate lots of shopping. We are there for 8 nights and I should be done by day 6(or completely broke:thumbsup2). I don't mind filling out a form...better than carrying stuff around all day.

That what I was told when i ask to have it delivered to my room... Perhaps if it goes to the Bell Desk it is ok to do it the day before. Maybe they may need more time to send it to the room, which wouldn't be til after checkout. :confused3

That sounds about right. I never actually asked for anything to be sent to my hotel room, per se, just to the Bell desk. So if you make a specific room delivery request, then requesting it the day before check-out might pose a problem because of the check-out time issue. Also, I have not used the package delivery service (to the Bell desk) since December of 2008, so anything could have changed in 2009, and maybe they have a bit more strict policies in place for the package delivery service now. I don't even think I was aware that they would deliver to the room, only to the Bell desk, but I guess it makes sense because the Bell desk brings luggage, etc., to the rooms, so why not purchases too?

Sure, you can use your room key to charge purchases! They give you a Key to the Magic at check-in (with your name on it) and you can attach a credit or debit card to it so you are able to use that Key for all food or merchandise purchases. (You will also need that Key if you take advantage of the Magic Morning/Early Entry option.) If you get multiple copies of the Key to the Magic for other members in your party (each one will have that person's name on it), you have to specify to the CM who checks you in that you only want the charging privileges attached to your Key or whichever Key, so that everyone in the family can't go off spending willy-nilly with it, and also if, for some reason, any of the Keys are lost, no one who finds the Key can buy a giant plush Mickey on your credit/debit card!!:rotfl2: Otherwise, if you don't specify to the CM, he or she may automatically apply the charging privileges to all the Keys without asking (they did that to me once).

Is there a limit before your card is charged automatically? In WDW it is $1500. Is it the same in DLR?

There was no limit on our KTTW card. We used it throughout our stay (except at ESPN and Rainforest Cafe) and didn't use cash/credit for anything.

We did not use our room key, we were given a slip of paper with a confirmation number on it we presented each time we were charging something. Maybe it's because we are from out of the U.S.?

Something that was new to us was that we needed to show picture I.D. to use that slip of paper each time. At that time in Canada we didn't have to do this, although it seemed like standard practice in the U.S. for a long time, no?

Our lanyards held our park passes, any fast passes, the credit slip, some cash and our driver's licenses! They were full!

Like a previous poster, my experience is from 2008, so it may have changed, but we picked up our purchases from the Bell Desk. They were guaranteed to be there the next morning so the only time we did not use the service was our final full day there.

We had one minor issue with one very small purchase (a tin of mints) not getting bagged and so therefore it did not arrive at the hotel. (We didn't notice it until late at night the night before we left.) It wasn't a huge deal to us ... only a $3 purchase ... but it was a wake-up call for me to watch carefully what does and doesn't get put into the bags to be sent. We got a little careless about it after a while, and sometimes walked away before the bags were filled. Entirely our own fault!
