Charging privileges for guests?

I'm wondering how everyone handles this. I am having guests at SSR and would like to know what might be the best system to have in terms of charging privileges for everyone.

I would prefer for everyone not to have charging privileges on the room--mostly to avoid confusion.

Has this been a problem for anyone? Can you just request that only your key card has charging privileges and no one else's?

Or is there a way for everyone to have their own separate charge account personal to their key so that debts aren't mixed up?

Interested to know how people have handled this.

Yes!:smooth:

No, as only one Credit card is used.

We usually do that whenever we have guests, our keys have charging, theirs do not. It works out fine...as most guests are not used to using the room keys to charge anyway.

We always do the same. Our keys have charging and theirs do not. They can still use credit cards at the restaurants and shops, so it really doesn' matter.

Thanks. I think that's the way I'm going to go. However, if someone checks in after me and I am not around -- say I'm at a park -- can they request they have charging privileges without my prior approval? Or do I just specify to the front desk that no one else has charging privileges and can count on that?

Once you check in with your credit card and tell the front desk who is staying and how many keys, they give all of this to you, and no one else will have charging on their keys. You will have all the keys unless you request that some be left at the desk for your guests. I have never done this, so I don't know if it is possible to do or not.

when we were at okw in dec. we had friends staying in a studio and we were in two-br with fil and his dw. our friends were able to put there own credit card on there kttw cards, even though they were in my name, just asked at the desk and they split up the charge privileges. i can't remember if fil put his own credit card on his csrds or not, since they were in the same room as us.

pogopossum, Yes, you could do that because you and your guests were in separate rooms. If you are sharing a studio, 1 bedroom, dedicated 2 bedroom or a GV...where you would all need the same exterior door keys, then no, you can not have 2 separate charge plates at the front desk.
