Charging Meals

I just had a thought and wanted to run it by the Dis to find out if this would work.
I am not on the dining plan so would be paying OOP for our meals. Can I use my Disney Visa to charge all our meals and then at the end of our stay call to transfer those extra points onto my rewards card. It would give us a few extra bucks for some last minute souveniers. I know it would not be that much at 1% but every little bit helps.

Most likely not. You don't actually "earn" your dollars until your statement closes, and you don't have access to those dollars until sometime after that.

We went on a quick trip in January, leaving 1/4, and I knew my statement would close on 1/2, so I waited until 1/4 to transfer my reward dollars to my rewards card. The ones from that charging period were not available to me to transfer.

You can you your Disney Visa but you won't get your reward points until you get your statement. For example my statement ends every 4th day of the month but I don't get my rewards until the 10th of every month.

And make sure you charge your dining to your card and not your room if you have the deal with Dis Visa where you can get 5x's bonus points for spending at restaurants and gas etc.

If you use your credit card at Disney restaurants it shows up as a restaurant and not generic WDW

I use my Disney Visa for everything . I carry no cash. You be suprised how many points you can rack up. I use it for paying my Comcast cable bill, Car Ins. Verizon Cell, Food & gas and anything else I can think of. It's fun to rack up the points. You figure u need to pay these bills any way so why not get diz rewards from it.

What Dis Visa gets you 5x's bonus points?? I just charged by Oct trip and had them push is through so I could benefit from the points. We're driving down so 5x all the gas we'll use would be great!

In Jan I had a DIs Visa promotion for 5x's the bonus points for gas, food, restaurants and pharmacies for anything over $500 per month for 3 months.

Two weeks ago I received another promotion for 5xs the bonus points for gas, restaurants, food and airline tickets over $750 for the month for 3 months.

I just called Chase/Visa and they gave me a phone number that added the discount promo to my account. Just call 1-888-807-1080 and all you do is enter your acct#. The current promo is running from 7/1-9/30. Wow, if they give me 5x my trip reservations that I just charged, I'll be all set come October!!

It's only good for those who got a notice of the promotion! Thanks for the phone number - but I was told my card number wouldn't qualify. Wish I knew how they picked certain cards over others. Some have been offered even though they off their card every month, some charge a lot, some charge a little. Oh well, will remain a mystery for now. Kathy
