Charging items to your room.

Do you have to give the hotel a credit card in order to charge items to your room?

Not necessarily. You can give them cash or travelers' checks or the equivalent and then charge up to that amount. They will refund (obviously) any amount over what you charged.

WDW can be very accommodating when it comes to you spending money.

If you put down cash and don't use it all, will they refund the difference in cash? or do they give you a check?

I always put down my traveler's checks. At the end of my stay, they refund the difference to you in cash.

On our recent trip, I gave them my credit card number, and then paid the daily charges off in cash each evening. We always took a walk at night, so stopping by the desk was no problem. At the end, I put what was left, about $100, on the CC.
