Charge limits for resorts?

What are the current charge limits set by each resort category? The amount you can charge to your account before the resort actually charges your card on file?

Thank you!

Do they hold that amount on your card? Can you tell them you don't want charging privileges?

I hate for there to be a hold on my card. Now with online check in I had to add my CC info. We have gone so many times before and I just can't remember the procedure.

They do not put any kind of hold on your CC. Once you hit the limit, they run your card.

You can remove charging privileges too if you want.

There have been a few instances where cards are run before the limit is reached. Very few but worth noting. It appears that if you near your limit and it's quite early in your trip they may run it earlier than expected.
For instance, say you are at a Value resort for 10 days, with 1500 limit, and you reach $1000 after 3 days then you may find they'll run that card early.
I'm sure those are very unusual circumstances but worth noting that it has been reported to have happened.

I never charge to my room. But, I've still always been asked to provide a credit card for incidentals or damages. I've never had a charge added to my account though.

This happens to us on every trip and we expect it. We're usually a party of 5 or 6; we don't purchase a dining plan; and we charge everything back to the room. It's not unusual for us to charge $150-200/day. When the limit at the Value resorts was $500, our card got charged about every other day. Now that they've increased it to $1500, we usually get charged once our balance reaches about $1200. It used to be more of an annoyance if I had gift cards I wanted to use towards our room balance -- I had to make sure I went to the front desk on our 2nd day to get the gift cards applied before they charged my credit card (I know they can reverse the charges, but it's a time consuming PITB to do it so I always tried to get the gift cards applied ASAP). Now that the limits have increased, there's more flexibility in getting to the front desk to apply gift cards.

We were told at AoA that they run reports twice a day to look at room charge balances. They put the charge through when guests are at about 80% of the limit so that they don't run into any issues with having their room charging denied while out in the parks (which can be remedied with a phone call, but still a bit of a pain.) I'm sure it's much easier on the front desk people since the limits were increased a few years ago.
