I'm wondering if anyone has seen some characters out of their element in WDW. Something really unique. I'll give some examples of really cool character experiences I've seen at DL:

-Mary Poppins riding on a carousel horse, sitting up perfectly straight with her umbrella to her side...literally the coolest thing I've ever seen. Just like in the movie! I couldn't believe my eyes. We were coming out of Mr. Toad (sorry to brag if you haven't been to DL) and I grabbed my sister and just pointed. So cool...wish I had gotten a picture.

-By the Alice in Wonderland ride and the Mad Hatter store (way too small in DL, btw), Alice came out of nowhere and walked up to a little mushroom house and started knocking on the door, asking the White Rabbit to come out. It was so neat and unique.

So I'm wondering if anyone has experienced really unique character moments like this (or not like this at all) that they'd like to share.

lol. I havent been to either DL nor WDW but this pic is really cool and even Mary Poppins sounds fun. I hope to get moments like this on cam when I go to DL in Oct, so I can at least post something.

In DL in Toontown, my daughter and I were playing with the door at the "camerashop". Goofy was around the corner apparently signing autographs but I'm guessing was leaving (my daughter had already got his autograph so wasn't interested in getting it again).

Well, while we were playing Goofy comes up and starts this interaction with my daughter (and it's just us around). He looks in the camerashop "window" and my daughter rings the doorbell - this causes the "window" to flash like a camera. Goofy is then blinded and staggers around in his typical Goofy manner.

It was just so great that I nearly forgot to take a picture. Heck, I did forget to use the video camera!! But again it is a memory that will last at least my life time.

Here's the pic I did snap ...

near Fantasyland, in Dec. and who should I bump into but Alice! :thumbsup2 She stayed in complete character, voice and all, and liked my Santa Mickey Ear hat! :teeth: It was so coool, and I was so shocked, I forgot to get out the camera! :confused3 I personally think that as soon as they "hit that entry way door" they are ON STAGE! :p

I have a couple of neat character moments.
-My son rode right next to Mary Poppins on the carousel.
-When I was like 16, Goofy and I splashed around together at the fountains in Epcot. We must have messed around with each other for a good 10 minutes. It was really neat because he was my favorite character at the time.
-We just came off the Pirates of the Caribbean ride and my son had purchased a sword in the gift shop. After exiting the shop, he came face to face with Captain Hook and started sword fighting with him.

When I was in Adventureland right around the POTC ride, I was with Captin Hook and Smee (I think I spelt that wrong) and Captian Hook proposed to me! It was hysterical!

A few weeks ago we saw Alice in a store in the UK in EPCOT. We took a pic with her and then no one else was in line so she skipped around the store. At one point she started talking to a stuffed Pooh with a birthday cake and in her perfect little girl, british accent said, "Oh Mr. Bear, Is it your birthday? Mr. Bear! I'm talking to you!" I said to her, "Well, he's being quite rude!" She came right back with, "Oh yes, It looks like he must be hungry." It was so cute! She was perfect!

We were sitting behind the Christmas Shoppe with my parents and dd taking a rest, and Pocohontas comes out from behind a secret fence/door thing to do a meet and greet. My dd spies her and yells "Hey! I want to meet you!" My dd is 4. Pocohontas takes her by the hand, leads her to the place where she was going to do the meet and greet and my dd got the first picture with her. It was so cute!

That is so cool about Alice and the the door! I love when little cool things like that happen at the parks! It adds a little extra magic to your day.

When I worked down there a while ago, Pooh and Tigger would ride the Pooh Ride in the morning. It was always exciting to see the kids faces when they would see that they were riding with Pooh or Tigger. The only bummer was I never had the chance to do it!

We went on the family magic tour last year and met up with Peter Pan and Wendy at the end of the tour. We went to see Philharmagic with PP (Wendy had to go find those Lost Boys) and PP spent the whole show talking to the screen really loud and saying really funny things. At the end of the show, he was jumping around saying to the kids, "did you see me? did you see me? How could you not? I'm just so damn handsome on screen." All the kids were laughing, but us parents were like, "did he just say that?" and then he slaps his hand over his mouth and said, "I can't believe I said that. It's because I hang out with pirates." pirate:

Mary Poppins rides the carousel quite regularly at WDW, too :)

She rode with my daughters, in fact, our last trip. Quite fun!

We bumped into Mulan one time just outside China's theater in Epcot. She didn't even have a character handler with her - and the girls had total one on one time with them for a while. It was the only time we've ever seen Mulan, so that was fairly cool.

During the MNSSHP one of the Lost Boys (the one with the racoon hat, I think) came over in the middle of their little choreography and said "How, Princess TigerLily" to my DD. That made her night. (She was dressed as TigerLily)

That sound like fun. I have never experienced them, but I know that you can ride Barnstormer on the first ride of the day with Goofy and see him water ski at the Contemporary.

One time we saw Alice and Mulan looking at pins under the hat at MGM. It was so funny because Alice kept pointing out Mulan pins but couldn't find any of her own. :)

On Thursday night, Pooh and Eeyore were outside, in back of the UK toy store, dancing to the British Invasion. I couldn't get my camera out quickly enough to catch them in the act. :)

Last year, my brother proposed to his girlfriend during the MVMCP Wishes  . The next morning we went to the character breakfast at CP. His fiancee loves Eeyore so she kind of made a big deal showing her new ring to Eeyore who was hugging her. Pooh came over and pointed around the table (there were 8 of us there) trying to figure out who gave her the ring. When my brother stood up, Pooh "pushed" him aside and then got down on one knee and tried to propose to her, pretending to put the ring on and everything! Eeyore was pacing back and forth, holding his head in his hands and wringing his hands, acting very upset. It was absolutely hysterical! :rotfl2:

We were over by the canadian pavillion in epcot when the big bear (keeneye i think is his name) was being walked of stage by his handler. This poor lady didnt see him coming and turned around and SCREAMED. That caused keeneye to get upset and he goes running the other way and everybody including the handler were hysterical. A very funny moment for everrone except the poor startled lady!!

On our first trip to WDW we were in Mickey's Toontown when Alice showed up to sign autographs. My wife was off getting some drinks from one of the carts and I was watching our daughter, who was 6 at the time. Well Alice decided to be cute and skipped away with all the kids in tow. For a second or two I wasn't sure whether to stay and wait for my wife or leave my spot and run after Alice and my daughter. Being the good Dad, I ran after the kids and left the wife. :) Alice didn't stop until she reached the Merry-Go-Round! We finally made it back to Mickey's Toontown and found my wife looking quite annoyed that we ran off without her. At least she agreed with my decision to chase after the kids when I explained what happened.

Wonderful character stories, always nice to hear.

Here is one I always enjoy (and I so miss the Masquerade. :()

How about a couple extra late night security staff??

And then one of the most touching moments I have seen there, this one, with this young lady, who appeared to have very serious disabilities, absolutely enraptured with Rafiki. Rafiki gave her as much time as she wanted, maybe even up to 5 minutes. She was enthralled with him. I watched, off to the side by the Great Movie Ride, with tears in my eyes. I took my camera and captured a Disney moment, it really was heart warming. I think this is back in 2001....

Another very similar moment though no picture, was on our family trip back in '99. We were at 'Ohana for a character breakfast. Minnie was there back then. She came by a table with a similarly disabled young lady, who was similarly enthralled at the sight of Minnie. Minnie stayed by her table, for again what seemed like 5 minutes. The young lady was rubbing her hands all over Minnie's face, making sounds of joy. It was such a sight. Again, I had tears watching such tenderness.
