Characters on Hold

Hey everyone! Does anyone know if they hold character audition spots?

Say you get the role and are accepted. However, cannot start for 6 months. Reasons maybe you need time to leave a job and move, ect.

Any help would be appreiated! Thanks!

Are you referring to the CP? Or PT/FT work?

For the CP - you are auditioning for a program, and would need to be available for the program you audition for.

For PT/FT, when you audition you can indicate a start date for work. But if you can't work for 6 months, then don't audition until you can work. If they offer you a role at the audition, the offer is immediate - not 6 months down the road.

I'm not sure if that's necessarily true.

When I auditioned in January, they said to write down when you'd like to start. The only condition was that it had to be WITHIN the next 6 months. That was the only restriction. So I don't think it's necessarily immediate.

I went to a Character and Parade open call in January. I didn't get pulled for anything, but I knew going in that they were only hiring princess heights and parade dancers up to 5'8", and I'm 5'11". I just went to get a feel for it before a CP audition.

The audition was great though! I don't think I'm allowed to say much (not that there aren't a thousand posts on here about auditions already! Haha ), but it was an awesome, warming environment, and it really seemed like everyone there was rooting for you to do well. I definitely plan on going back again!
