Characters on DCL

Just curious.... saw Peter Pan today (yes, we're one of the bazillion families that went to the movies today- but I couldn't help it... they tempted me with a new Disney movie coming out on Christmas... who could resist that? LOL) and it reminded me that I meant to ask on here....

it seems from the threads I've read (trip reports) and pictures I've seen that Wendy and Captain Hook are pretty regular characters on the DCL.

WHY? Why not Wendy and Peter Pan??? Who's idea was it to have Wendy and Captain Hook? If they could only have 2- how's about the main characters please? Okay so Captain Hook is a main character too- but he's the bad guy... LOL

WE WANT PETER PAN!
I wonder if my son will be 80 before he finally gets to see Peter Pan. LOL (if then....) Okay so he's only been twice- but still hasn't seen Peter Pan (I've been 4 times- no sign of Peter Pan yet LOL)

Just curious... because I know when we go on our cruise my son would LOVE seeing Peter Pan- but he's totally NOT going to be interested in seeing Captain Hook and Wendy at all (maybe Wendy if she was with Peter Pan! LOL) -and isn't Captain Hook kinda scary? (I can tell you right now- he will have to GET AWAY as far as possible for my daughter to want to get near Wendy if we see them on our cruise... he will scare her. She doesn't like bad dudes. LOL)
Do they have any OTHER "bad guy" characters on the ship? Or is it just Captain Hook? and if so.. WHY? Why oh why no Peter Pan.

Take a deep breath, Bib. On our Wonder cruise in November Peter Pan was, in fact, there. We saw Captain Hook by himself doing pictures and autographs on the balcony overlooking the atrium, while Peter and Wendy were doing autographs and photos down in the atrium. Given that he's a main character in the Disney Dreams show, I'm guessing that this is not an uncommon occurence.

Wow- what great news! I won't tell DS at any time before the trip (just in case Peter Pan is not seen by him on our cruise) but how great if he does see him! (okay, so I wanna see him too LOL)

That's also great that he's in Disney Dreams! Thanks for letting me know.

Peter Pan (as all the characters were) was excellent! He was reminding everyone to come see "his show" the following night.

We were on a 4-night cruise, and he was available for autographs several times.

One of my favorite characters though was Captain Hook. He was "roaming the halls" on the ship several times. My daughter had a blast with him. Hook is not a face character, which means that since he wears a mask, he doesn't talk. Hook had a great time with the kids, always looking for something to swipe from the kids. I thought his signature was the best! And while all the characters are proper about their individual poses, Hook was very dramatic about getting into his pose for the pictures!

DH might like Hook. But my kids aren't interested in "bad guy" Disney characters at all- especially my youngest. But I can understand why he's there IN ADDITION to Wendy/Peter Pan... I was just under the impression it was only Wendy/Captain Hook from the comments in trip reports and pictures always showing those two. I've yet to see a picture of anyone with Peter Pan nor seen mention of him! And I've read a LOT of the DCL trip reports clicking links to see pictures/etc. Just a case of missing them and "assuming"- assuming is always a bad idea.
